This is great. We booked 10 days in Spain and Portugal with two days in the Thompson, flying business on Iberia and returning on Air France doing the very thing you showed. I wish you had made this when we booked in May. I was so nervous. Keep them coming. Would love to see this for Peru/South America, Resorts in MX, and also Hawaii! Thank you.
@@MaxMilesPoints yes, another option would be the venture x which can give you the 100k points from a single card and single sign up bonus. Effective $95 annual fee as well :)
@@Re3iRtH the bonus on the capital one venture x right now is 75k 😭. hotel transfer options are not as good as chase to Hyatt though. I love the venture x for other redemptions though!
I took a similar flight through CDG and got stuck in immigration for over 2.5 hours. Ended up missing my flight back to LAX. Good luck with that short of connection time. Will be doing a similar trip scheduled for April 2023, LAX to MAD. Ended up booking business 134k for us both one way on af, but this time flying business will pass through immigration easily. 50k back through klm in economy connecting through ams back to LAX. The even funnier thing is I was looking at booking the Thompson last week as I saw huge hyatt point valuations. The cost per night was literally 1000 euro/night!! I ended up deciding to go with the Intercontinental instead. :)
@@joeyleerobbins I just spoke to a flight attendant and got on the next flight, but business seats were all booked up so we were refunded for the difference. Sucks, but my rule of thumb is always have at least 2.5 hours in CDG
I wanted to do a booking at Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort in Puerto Vallarta. An all inclusive stay using Chase UR transferred to Hyatt. It'll cost me 68K Chase points transferred to Hyatt saving me $1,849.00 USD for 4 nights for two adults and one toddler. However, it's hard to part with my UR points on a stay in Mexico. Especially when Hyatt does not offer free nights on award stays. At Hilton or Marriott I'd get a free night after booking 4 with points. If this was the case with Hyatt it would move the needle for me even the more to make a booking.
Not possible I believe since AmEx doesn’t transfer over to the lucrative Hyatt rewards program, without which this 100k redemption is a long shot. There’s a certain value when it comes to Chase points compared to AmEx due to the Hyatt partnership.
I noticed that you set the departure airport as JFK-would you book a separate flight to get to JFK from where you are with points as well, or just buy that ticket separately?
Hey! Depending on what city you’re flying done you can find similar rates. It’s 15k each way from Chicago and Detroit as well. I only picked jfk because a follower requested it! If I was flying from San Diego I would fly out of LAX where it’ll be around 22k points each way
Great detailed information, thank you Max. Towards the end of the video at 7:07 you use a cent per point calculation spreadsheet that clearly shows all the numbers so well. Can you please show me where or how you got that calculation spreadsheet.
Another great video, Max. Thanks. I'm subscribed to your newsletter as well. You always have such valuable information. I've seen many trips like this for great deals to Western Europe (France, Spain, Portugal, etc.) Can you tell us the best way to find something similar for cheap flights to and from Italy. I have Chase UR, Amex MR, and VentureX miles. Thanks! Keep these vids coming!
This is great content. I am newer to credit card points and have been building out my own scenarios so this was helpful! Would love to see how you would handle a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) from NY to Europe.
You are making my dreams a reality by placing the plan in front of me. Thank you
Love your videos. Can you do a video on how to maximize points for a trip to Portugal?
great video, but i would like to know how to use points for a trip to Rome Italy from Loa Angeles
Thanks for sharing! I definitely want to put together a trip like this soon

Wait doesnt Chase have limits on earning bonuses?
Now getting the points still requires spending and paying off the bills. Monthly bills goes to card. You earn rewards and fly free
Yes, spending and credit card fees, the money that TH-camrs will never tell you it costs.
If you pay your card off in full and on time every time there’s only the annual fee which is $95 in the examples I showed in the video 😉
Yes, put your regular spend on the card , pay it off in full and on time every time, pay the annual fee, get the points and travel

How much dollors do I need to spend to earn 100k points
One penny is one rewards point. So… 10k? I could be wrong with my math
Hi Max, anyway you can recommend how to get your spreadsheet for calculating points similar to what you showed.

So when you miss that flight those points are gone? No way to get some compensation?

Good video as always. Can you do one with Turkish airlines to Istanbul using chase or Amex points please
Hey Max, great video!!! Which airline did you use for positioning flight to NYC and how much did it cost? Thanks Max!!!

Awesome redemption, you just gave me a reason to buy hyatt points.
Yup! 30% bonus right now!
Can you do 100,000 mr points next! Thanks 😊
To convey so much information, in so few words, is a gift my friend... great content👍🏾👍🏾
You're production quality is so high. Great video. You could use Virgin miles for the outgoing and save 6k pts and same amount of money.
Amazing video as always, any recommendations on where to look for domestic flights with a reward chart?
Thanks! British Airways is a fixed award chart for AA flights but it's based on distance flown.
