I watched a bunch of Dan’s videos on redemption strategies in preparation for my honeymoon in Bali. I booked about six months in advance using advice from Dan, and scored business class tickets for a total of 160,000 chase points per person. In other terms, we flew round trip 29 hours each way ($9,300 face value) in business class for Chase points worth $1,600 if redeemed as cash back. Dan is the man, thank you!
Love the video here Daniel & love seeing concrete examples of specific redemption opportunities because it helps make some of the different redemption options that we talk about seem more real. Great video as always!
Thanks Matt! Yeah I love going out and finding examples like these to show people what to look for. It's really fun finding some good award stays and flights!
I used to not love how fast you spoke bc English is my second language and it was hard to follow but now I love it because it’s so much information but not a long video. Thank you!!
A video suggestion that I have is to make a video explaining all the airlines alliances and how to transfer and/or book flights within them like the example you mentioned Chase - British Airways - AA or AmEx - Delta Skymiles - Aeromexico and such. As always great video!
@@Daniel_Braun I concur! Need more examples on transferring points within airline alliances - that's where I always get stuck. You explain things so well Daniel!

Another great video Daniel. Thanks for walking through these real examples! 2.5 cpp for the united flight is a great redemption. Love the new editing style!
Hey Daniel! This is one of the best videos I’ve seen on this topic. The concrete examples were super helpful, and your editing rocked! 😊 The other thing I liked was that the video showed new people to the travel points game that great value is out there, but they will need to put in some work to get that value. Excellent job, my friend!
If you are doing a multi-city trip, it is a better approach. For example, if you're going to Paris from LAX but want to visit other cities like Berlin, it would be better to book a one way LAX to Paris, and the return flight from Berlin to LAX This is because if you did Paris round-trip, you'd need to buy two additional flights (Paris to Berlin, then Berlin to Paris) to get back to Paris for your return flight.
This is an amazing video. I just got into the Chase ecosystem last year with the Unlimited and Flex. I haven't gotten the CSR, but I know that the jamacia trip is something I want to do with my points. Thanks for the insight Daniel!!
Marco, thanks so much man - I really appreciate it! Glad to hear it was a good one for you, these are always fun to make when I find some good uses for points!
Your videos help ALOT in actually understanding how to transfer points to maximize value of Chase rewards. Before it seemed just way too complicated. Since watching this video I’ve already transferred Chase points to Hyatt and booked an award stay with minimal points (much better than the 1.5 I had assumed was the best I could get). Thank you! I’m still having difficulty finding the options of cash versus points versus cash+points. For example, I’m looking for a business class ticket from LAX to the Maldives. On Qatar I can’t seem to view the Avois+cash option (maybe b/c I don’t have points yet in my Avios account?). Is there a website or app that can identify such deals or do you always have to find them in the airline website? Finally, what do you think the likelihood is of buying a main cabin ticket (to the Maldives) and upgrading to business with cash later? Thanks again for your help and excellent information!!
I have always found the points confusing and I think this helped get a little better understanding. but sadly still a head scratcher for me. I guess the big question I have is how can you get so many points with every day purchase to get 120k?
Time to pack my bags for Jamaica!! 🌴🏖 Jokes aside this is such a valuable video and explains exactly why I love Chase points so much. I'd like to see you use some of your Chase points for a trip to Austin soon 👀
Haha I'll be traveling to Jamaica soon as I figured I'd include it here. Thanks man! Yeah you know I'll be down there in Austin in just a couple of months now - used some Chase points to book the Hyatt haha

How do you book American Airlines flights with British Airway point? Do you go through the British airway portal? Have you made any videos talking about alliance/partnership airline booking with points?
Quick question, would it be best to do points / cash if you don’t have enough points? Im looking to take a trip to Tokyo via United later this year from Houston, and idk if I have enough points 😅😅😅
Does this really come down to checking the "price" in three places! The dollar total in the UR portal, the points total in the UR portal, and the miles total in the travel partner portal? Then you book the cheapest while the dollar total is just used to compare savings?
Really enjoyed the video! Anybody else in the Midwest and having to suffer a double layover if you want to travel anywhere? I’m trying to find the best value for traveling to Rome next year but a lot of international airlines don’t fly out of my airport so I feel like I’m going to have to piece together a couple of one-way tickets to even get the award flights to pop up.
Hi can you please help me. I am planning on going to Puerto Vallarta Mexico from July 19 - July 26. I found a flight in Alaska Airlines but I’m a little confused on how to transfer my points. I made an account on British Airways but when I type in the dates I can’t find the flights. Am I supposed to transfer my points to British Airways and then transfer those points to Alaska? Or is it better to book with Avios?
Thank you you did a great job although you talk a bit too fast. Could you do an explanation of LAX to Rome using points? I am a bit confused thank you very much.
One thing to keep in mind that isn't mentioned a lot is if you are chasing status with an airline. I maintain MVP status with Alaska. So a lot of my flights I just take the 1.5X multiplier on CSR instead of transferring to Alaska miles. That's because when I pay directly with UR points those flights count towards my yearly 20,000 miles accrual requirement. Whereas if I transfer my UR points to Alaska miles those flights won't count towards the 20K. That's also one of my main reasons for using the CSR over my AMEX Platinum for travel spend. I'm basically able to maintain status with Alaska by using my UR points for Alaska bookings.
Hey, can I book someone else a flight using my chase biz ink credit card points? This will be my first time using my chase points so I’m a little apprehensive because I don’t want to do anything wrong. Thanks in advance!

Daniel, I found a flight from LAX to Amsterdam in July for $900. through Brussels Airlines. They don't have the option to choose points. How to switch Chase points to Brussels Air?
Just to clarify regarding the Iberia flight: If you paid in cash, it would be $2331.20. If you were to transfer points, the monetary value of the purchase of the tickets would have been roughly a little less than $500 because you only get $0.01 per point if you were to redeem chase points in cash, is this correct?
