After your last video about Creality Print I downloaded it and gave it a try. I couldn't find a menu like in Cura (who knew it was edit) so I gave up on it. This video helped a lot in showing me where to change settings. Hey, I'm 71 and don't play around with my printers enough!! I'll give it a try on my next print. Thank you for the information and video.
I'm glad to hear the video helped! Do you have a preference of Creality Print vs Cura? Both are great slicers as is Orca slicer. I bounce around between the three of them. Thanks for the kind words and I really appreciate that you took the time to watch! Thanks you very much!
I only have used Cura and thought I'd try Creality Print but couldn't figure it out. I'll try it again since I found out where to make changes in Creality Print in this video. Thank you again.
@andyby7754 I am 77 and totally love the 3D printing world, I tried Creality Print when I bought my 3D MAX but did not care for it, I also tried Orca and now use Orca most all the time. Keep looking, exploring, and learning!
@@pushingplastic7445 Still loving it after almost 8 years, currently have an S1 Pro, Ender3 Max with the S1Pro hot end & extruder, dual z, and my latest is K1 max.
I recently got myself an ender 3 v3 se and my buddy advised me to use cura... Which has been working great for me. However, given this video I'm going to test out creality. Thanks great video!
Cura is a great slicer, I use it myself, for about 5 years now. Creality did a lot of work over the years to improve their slicing software. It's made for their printers with Creality built profiles. Give it a shot and let me know how you like it! I have a few other videos on the channel for Creality Print too. Thanks for watching!
Awesome! Thanks for those kind words! In my opinion, there just aren't enough people covering what can be done with Creality Print. Thank you so very much for watching!
I had the same issue and it was difficult to follow since almost nothing is where the videos show. However, what I discovered is the little "search" glass, on the right, just under Process Global/Object. Just make sure to click the "advanced" icon (green) so you get a full list. You can click that, type in just a word that would match something in the video. When you do that, i.e "iron", you'll see some hits immediately blow the search field. It can be a bit confusing because it almost looks like part of the list below it, but you'll see the word(s) you searched for listed and then you can click the one that matches what you want. When you click it, you'll see, usually at the very bottom of the list, the item searched, "flashing" so as to draw attention to it. THIS has saved me in trying to figure out CrealPrint 5.1 . Hope that helps
Thanks! There just aren't enough people supporting Creality Print. Years ago Creality Print was pretty bad and a lot of people assume it's the same as it was. But Creality gave it a face lift and developed the inner workings. I hope they keep developing it! It's a good slicer! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching!
Amazing! I plugged your settings into Creality Print and my K1 Max pumped out incredible top layers instantly. I am trying to move over to using Creality Print 5 and having a terrible time. Even in advanced settings, I cannot find any of the shell settings and my top layers look like doo doo.
My first experience with Creality Print is when I bought 2, Ender 3 V3 Plus printers. I came from a Cura background and found CP 5.1 very different. in fact, it's also very different from the older versions, like CP4. But I stuck with it and the one feature that I use a lot is the search function (on the right, Global). For example, I can never easily find ironing, so I just click the little search glass and type iron You will then see anything that has the letters iron in them. Then, you can click the option and it brings you right to the setting you've searched for. But NOTE, usually, it's at the bottom of the list you see and usually it's FLASHING to draw attention to it. This is how I find anything I'm seeing. While the menus and locations of things are very different, using this search, using minimal wording, will find, for example, what we see here in the video. I've grown to really like CP 5.1.14. I haven't played with these top surface settings much, other than ironing. I really do like ironing, BUT one thing I've discovered, is when using a very shiny PLA, like Silk, where the object is nice and shiny, where the ironing is, it's not as shiny. It does dull the surface somewhat. But I really like how he explains things and i'll keep this video up on the screen today as I run some tests. I like the idea of using smaller widths. I had that all wrong before. I thought that wider widths would "fill in" better, but that's just wrong. This smaller width, clearly creates a smoother, tighter look. There is on thing though, that I do wish he'd cover. That is, how to get that top layer to cover the entire top, edge-to-edge, instead of just inner wall to inner all. I don't like how the edge looks, where there may even be some gaps. Perhaps there's an adjustment for that too where the top layer lays over the outer edges completely... ??
Your videos have been really helpful! I beed figure out how to get better quality over supports because its been terrible at times and sometimes its manageable but nothing as good as i see in videos. My Supports arent hard to remove just makes skin super ugly
I really liked your guide to get a nice top surface. Please could you consider how to get the same quality if that surface has (designed) holes in it? Maybe print your test tile with five holes dotted at random and see if prints smoothly now 🤫? I get artifacts after the holes because the hotend chooses to move all over the place now. Ive tried with some of the newer settings in CP (and Orca) but I cant get rid......
Thanks for the videos, both my printers are ender 3 v3 se modified with Creality Official Original Ender-3 V3 SE/KE Ceramic Heating Block Kit-60W 0.4mm Quick-swap Nozzle Kit, 40mm cooling fans, Nebula PAds, liner rail upgrades. helping me build my profile has really increased the quality of my prints. Do you have a section for ABS filament and TPU? they are the two I'm having issues with. PLA has been great, I am running Creality Print V4.3.8.7062 as I have found it more reliably then V5.1
I actually just started working on a video for TPU! I also have an ender 3 v3 se, it was my go to machine for TPU. It is stock. I got my first TPU clog with it a few weeks back, I'm guessing my filament wasn't as dry as I thought. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
@@pushingplastic7445 thanks mate, I encounter a lot of stringing issues on some objects while a simple objects printed fine. it is very painful, how ever i did use pla profiles and that did reduce the stringing not by much but did improve. I have a Comgrow filament dryer which also helps, I run that in all prints as well. if i could send a photo of my setup on youtube I would show you my setup.
@@pushingplastic7445 Speaking of clogs, I wonder if you have a vid or if you know how to clear this issue... the issue is, I was using your video on flow rates where we use the calibration thing that prints out the flat chips with numbers on them, then select the best looking one and enter that number into the formula you showed (which, by the way, works much better than the "NEW" formula on CP's site!!!) So what happened was, I was using PETG. Not just any PETG, but a new spool of something called "Gun Metal Grey." Out of the box it just never flowed right on any printer. Even drying it for hours made little difference. So I wanted to try that flow config thing. But I think that I made a silly error. What I did was to set the printer to heat the nozzle and bed BEFORE doing the test. I set the *nozzle temp to 245C and bed to 80C.* I started the print and then just went downstairs for dinner. I did have the cameras running (the Nebula and a top view HD cam I have) and noticed that the 1st layer and beyond where bad. VERY BAD. Blotchy, complete areas missing, etc. What appears to have happened is that some heat creep happened! Even on this special nozzle with the heat break built right onto it! I think that, because when I tried to clear the clog using that long metal pin thingy, it stopped right in the middle of the nozzle, ABOVE that heat break piece! I took the nozzle off and using an SMD head gun, set to 300C (and later all the way up to 480C) I tried to melt the filament that was clearly stuck way up inside (close to the top/entry point). I got a lot of the filament to finally ooze out, but with that wire thing, I could 'feel" that there was a thin layer of filament still stuck to the inner sides of the nozzle. It just would not melt enough to "drip" out! I even used a drill bit that I have that was able to get more plastic out of it, but not enough. I thought that it was enough, so I put the nozzle back into the printer and tried to flush it with normal PLA at a higher temp (about 240C). It seemed to flow a bit, but then, the extruder just made that bumping sound and I could see the filament jumping up and down a bit. That's because while the wire could make it through, that thin coating of filament was enough to make the nozzle's travel more narrow, therefore binding the filament. I had to change the nozzle to a new one to get any work done. So I wonder, with all your experience, for one, have you see this kind of thing where the inner wall of the nozzle gets coated and if so, have you found a way to completely clear it out when it's PETG material? Thanks in advance for any ideas on this. For now, I have ordered 3 more nozzles just to keep in stock.
