I have a postal meter as well, but the trigger assembly, bolt, slide and spring was replaced by me. as when I bought it from a guy in a flea market where he had setup a table and where I was coming home empty handed from a gun show in the year 1999 (I think). for 160 bucks. I just happen to have the spare parts from an action, in the box was four slides, three trigger assembles (one was an m2), two slide springs (One was weak and bowed to the side a bit), A bayonet for a carbine (No sheave), three slings (Only one was in perfect condition), three oilers for the carbine, five 15 round mags, two 30 round mags and all that in a carboard box for one dollar (I did try to find out about if there was a full rifle and got no where). Wished I kept the extra carbine parts, I'm sure it would of gone for some nice money now a days. The Parkison finish was real good on it, the stock was rough (It has a m2 cut too) and with the replacement parts it ran good. I couldn't get a good center shot at long range like to 200 meters and hit the edge of a paper plate at 150 and I'm sure the barrel was worn down a bit and the whole gun with all original parts may of been used for a very lot of plinking and fun shooting until it was no longer functioning and with the ejector claw on the flat bolt broken and the bolt had a very tiny crack. But, I was glad to get it because the carbines like other firearms had disappeared from the market with the low-price tags for refurbished and much later would reappear with the much higher price tags for even the rough looking stuff and as we all know of the price keep going up. P.S. my serial number is over 200,000 higher than yours.
Very nice. I also purchased a National Postal Meter M1 carbine earlier this year. My production number is in the 4.2-4.3 million range and it also has a Marlin barrel on it. Mine does have import marks from Blue Sky Arsenal, but otherwise it runs well. Personally, I like the Korean magazines for the M1 since they are easy to get a hold of and they tend to run quite well.
@DesertMav awesome, glad you shared so I have a comparison. Does yours have an NPM marked stock? I like the mags from KeepShooting as well, they run good also.

Bought my NPM M1 Carbine back in 89 for 199 mine has a Underwood barrel 11-43 dated. back during WW2 the DOD rated the National Postal Meter M1Carbines to be the best quality of all the war time makers. Not to mention the cool factor of the name along with Rock Ola

PM c Postal Meter ? I will look it up. 2 rivet hand guard that's right. Look in the sling well and look for the marking in there. that is a small pin repair on the stock. You got a good one for sure. See ya soon.

@@The_Casual_Collector I don't see any real markings on the stock, but there is a re-arsenal marking at the bottom of a grip.

A lot of those cmp m1’s were sent with a new pmc mag from South Korea. Great gun! Enjoy 👍
None of my CMP M1 Carbines came with mags. Bummer. South Korean mags work well.
