Due to popular demand, I have posted the United Artists Theatres' policy trailer from 1989. I give all credit to JoeCool85 of DailyMotion.com for having this video.
Thank you so much for this! I remember this policy trailer running in front of films like "Drop Dead Fred", "Creepshow 2", "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare", and many other films I saw at the two United Artists theaters we had. They closed in 1999 and four out of the five theaters in my hometown are now owned by Regal Entertainment Group and Carmike Cinemas, respectively. The fifth is owned by a smaller company, Trademark Cinemas.
OMG! I've been looking all over for this UA version! This brings back so many great memories, it's like going back in time! I nearly got misty-eyed! Thank you so much for this! I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber! :)
I remember this trailer back in the early 1990's in a few old theaters (formerly Eric) in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. I have seen movies like...Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Cool World, and Mortal Kombat. Those old movie houses were torn down and we have a multiplex across from the King of Prussia Plaza including an IMAX.
I went to UA Theaters (formerly Eric) to see these movies with that trailer: Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 and 3, Cool World, and Mortal Kombat.
I remember seeing this trailer at my UA theater in Beaumont, TX, starting in the summer of 1990. It played before Pretty Woman, The Hunt For Red October, and Die Hard 2. Regal and Cinemark opened up two megaplexes and the UA closed in '99 after being a discount/bargain/$1 theater for a couple of years. Sad day, loved going to that theater.
This is the one I remember the most. We had the Litchfield Theatres chain in Georgia, and its owner died in a plane crash. They sold their chain to UA, and I have many fond memories of seeing tons of movies at two different UA locations growing up in the late '80s/early '90s. I really wish Regal had kept the United Artists name and logo alive but I understand brand synergy. They were still using that branding for the arthouse theater UA Tara 4 in Atlanta. I checked recently and now it's officially Regal Tara 4. At least on TH-cam, these great remnants of years past will live forever.
I actually did not do anything to increase the volume. I just took the video from another website as it was and posted it to TH-cam. Thank you for the kind words, though.
Fair enough. That would make sense, because, back in the day, most theatres were owned by movie studios and would only show films made by those studios.
fancysnake1 Very cool fancysnake. I remember seeing that trailer a lot because there was one United Artists theater where I saw almost all my movies at the time. It's really the song I'm curious about. I think it might've been from a soundtrack from a movie from the 1970s.
***** I think I have it all figured out now. I don't know if I should upload it to TH-cam or do you want me to send it to you through email? I'm going to try and record it tomorrow morning before it gets hot out since I don't have air conditioning where the projector is.
@TServo2049 - Yes, this was also used by EM Theatres in Dublin & Pleasanton! It had different music over it, and the end was edited to say EM Theatres. They basically stole this trailer and added their own music and name/logo at the end!
From what I have read, they were never the same company. United Artists Theatre Circuit, Inc. CEO Joeseph Schenck was merely given permission to use the United Artists Name. I assume Schenck wanted to use the name to take advantage of brand association.
I would have to agree with you that both were effective in their own ways. This animation is excellent for 1989 and is still very good by today's standards. I am not a big fan of the music, though; it is too quiet at times and not prominent enough.

I remember watching a movie at a UA theater in the early 2000's and they randomly played this, so much nostalgia:)
Thank you for increasing the volume on this video. Sounds much better now. :-)

Gremlins 2 was when I remember seeing this lol...pure nostalgia!!
some trivia on this policy trailer: if you guys didn't notice, the text shown has the background of the united artists 1994 movie logo

That small white drop went between those letter and into the star to make shine bright like the sun.

I love the music. Thanks for sharing it. I'm sorry for thanking you twice. Love it.
I remember this policy trailer very well because I went to mostly United Artists Theatres to see movies from 1989-1993.

There was one at the marley station mall, a few minutes from my house, before it changed to Horizon Cinemas.
Brings back some good memories...thanks!

I am glad that I could take you down memory lane.
I remembered seeing this policy trailer before DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.
Awesome!! Thanks for posting.
I miss the 80's

Before they had to add in “silence your cell phone devices”. Sigh.

No problem. I am glad that I could be of service.
Love that Optima font.
I have been looking for the trailer little blue dude with the guitar who advertised midnight madness. Any chance you have that?
I have a trailer that has the label "LTR EXIT MID MAD FEAT" in a box full of trailers from a United Artists theater could that be it?
fancysnake1 Did you ever post this anywhere? I've been wanting to see the trailer with the blue guy too. The song has been stuck in my head for years.
*****
I can record it now but I'm trying to fix a sound flutter problem in the projector so music kind of sounds funky at the moment.

I will agree with you, but merely on the grounds that the music is pretty eerie.
I never been to a United Artist theater.
Hmmm. Suddenly it's louder on my computer for some reason. I thought you had edited the video...

Nope, I have changed nothing. I am glad to hear (no pun intended) that your computer's sound system is working well, though.
It does look nice.

I remember seeing this before Batman.
No problem.
Fair enough. You are entitled to your own opinion.
In 1989
No problem.
