That’s because the soul of cinder takes the form of the chosen undead aka the player character from DS1. In the cover art the chosen undead is shown wearing the elite knight set

It’s not. The pitch is lower, it’s slowed, and it’s drowned in reverb. Not really a proper remix per se, but a remix of speed, pitch, and room, if you will.
