Dark Souls 3: Slave Knight Gael | Epic Orchestral Cover

After about 16h spent on just transposing the melody, I can see why there are so few covers of phase 2 and 3. For the first time I needed two separate projects just to fit all this into a single track, because my pc couldn't process the sheer amount of stuff happening at once. I'll probably do a second cover of it sometime in the future, but in a different style. It's particularly complex and it's a great learning experience. As is most of dark souls and bloodborne music.
Anyway, this one took me a bit over three weeks, tracks like these are ridiculously demanding so it's the last with this amount of detail for a while. I like overthinking every little detail, but I'll get back to them whenever I upgrade my pc, as on my current they're a royal pain to make.

I have like 14 covers and remixes of Gael in my playlist. So far, only the original could hit me like this one, like, holy shit

The woman’s chant sounds like if was the sorrow of the painter, if she discovered what happened to her dear uncle gael. Still the best boss, even after elden ring.
The only boss in Elden Ring that holds a candle to Gael is Radahn
@@deusvultpictures6550 In style and atmosphere indeed, but the fact he's calibrated to be fought by a team and he's a mid-game boss put him behind Gael in terms of mechanics.
Malenia's first phase has a great fighting beauty, but Gael is still my favorite indeed.
In atmosphere I feel like Gehrman,the first hunter hunter is the best if only he wasn’t so easily

Phase 2 has always been my favourite part of Gael's theme, and this did it justice, especially at the start of Phase 2. Simply amazing!

I don't usually comment on videos, but this cover is amazing. I've been following you for a while and your style of orchestration is just right for the soulsborne games cus it has this distinct difference. Please PLEASE consider doing more stuff. If you can handle the lyrical stuff, a cover for Gehrman in your style would just be perfect :)
I was considering covering The First Hunter, but the choir is tricky. If I'll ever do this one, it will have sung lyrics. Otherwise I'm not doing it. As for other Soulsborne music, think I have at least a dozen more I want to make, so you'll definitely see more of them.

This somehow tops the OG soundtrack, every edit and variation of this hasn't held a candle to the original song, yet you've surprassed it somehow. You got serious talent, keep doing this.

Hey, I have a quick question. Could you create a version where all of the OST's phases can be looped? I'm attempting to import this version into the game, but the loop doesn't sound very good
Men, il love your strings, did you use the spitfire chamber string to get string that's sound this good ?
Here I used 8Dio Anthology Strings. Spitfire strings are nice, but I've found them to be a bit too soft for epic sounds. 8Dio ones have a better sounding close mic position imo.
@@TristanGray i agree i use personally metropolis ark to make the background strings, but i will check out these string that's picked my interest, thanks !
all that to say; your orchestration is great, and the texture are fantastique, just the mix is really mudy (too much harmonics and all on the midrange) and the brass is taking so much place wee can barely ear the rest of the orchestra and that's sad :'(, but i really liked the ambiance posed at the start of the song.
hope you will get other similar idea, and i'm also open if you want to discuss music or even make a colab together.
