Does Splat Actually Last 30 Washes??

- What's up everyone?!? This video is my "journey" of washing my hair after dying it with Splat Midnight Ruby to see if it actually lasts for 30 washes, or around that number. This took me a long time to film and I hope it's helpful to some of you out there!

Thank you for posting this. I have very dark brown almost black hair (natural color) and it is very difficult to color it. This video and the previous one where you applied it really answered a lot of my questions. Having colored my hair in the past, I know that there are ways to make the color fade faster (if someone wants it to). But it's great to know that this product works well. I'm looking forward to getting it. Thank you so much for posting these :)

I know this was three years ago but my first time using this dye. And I have medium to dark brown hair naturally. And was curious if it would show up on the darker parts of my hair. I also watched the video of you applying it. And I’m just happy to know it will show up without bleach. I have only bleached my hair twice and I prefer to dye my hair without it. So always looking to see if certain colors will truly show up. Thanks for your videos! ❤

Thank you for posting this 😂 I see people using it but never a follow up video on how long it lasts. I see it definitely does last but im scared it will stain my hair like Natural Instincts did 🤣 Im gonna still do it. It looks so nice.
I am currently in the 10th wash and i’m loving it!! I’m thinking of my next color and i was thinking Midnight Amethyst but i have yet to find a video with the same color hair as me. You are as close as i can find! Would u ever dye your hair Midnight Amethyst (purple)?

Little note for people with bleached hair. This WILL stain your bleached hair. My bathtub is completely stained pink because every time i wash my hair, so much dye comes out but it’s still a vibrant red. Good thing i did this with my long hair because i’ll be cutting my hair short soon 😂

Splat is pretty much impossible to remove after getting it washed down as much as you can. You usually always have to bleach wash your hair or completely bleach out the splat. So be very careful.

Hey! I was about to dye my hair the Splat semi-permanent magenta color. I'm seeing a lot of comments about the color never coming out. This video is one year old. Did the dye ever wash out?! If so, when??
Thank you so much for doing this. Currently trying to decide what color i will chose and this helps a whole bunch!! I was wondering if the arctic fox washed out completely? Will you see if this one washes out completely?
Unfortunately I never gave Arctic Fox a chance to completely wash out. Since filming the 30 wash day, I have lost count of how many times I washed my hair since, so I wouldn’t be able to give an accurate number of washes to completely be out, but I imagine it to be more than 40 washes.

I tried this same brand in the purple color and my natural color (which is very similar to hers) never completely showed again no matter how many times I washed it. A year later it was definitely brown again, but people would still make comments like "your hair looks reddish/purple" in the sun. I read that using dandruff shampoo helps it come out quicker though and I definitely noticed that more color came out in the shower when I used that instead of regular shampoo! I really loved it though so I used this brand again in the red color and after 5 washes with head and shoulders it is more burgundy than bright red like it was at first.

I love splat for dark hair. I use the amethyst and it stains everything 🤣 also tried Arctic fox and it didn’t cover as well or last half as long in my hair. Also tried a semi permanent from sally beauty and the color wasn’t as vivid and didn’t last very long.
Did the color eventually wash out completely? If so how long did it take?
Allison! GIRL, You don't understand how glad I am that I came across your video! My hair color and hair type is so similar to yours, and I dyed my hair using the same Splat color the beginning of quarantine lol ..at first, I really liked it, but now that I've had my hair like this for almost 4 and half months I'm so over it. I wanted to know how you feel about it--are you still seeing the red pigment?
Monica Gonzalez hey girl!! i did my hair this same color in march (my hair is darker brown) and i did it right on top of my natural hair color and i still have red showing😭😭
Yes unfortunately Splat did stain my hair so I have a very slight reddish glow to it but I only see it when there’s sun on it and I kind of like it actually!
Hi 👋, How long did it last? I got Midnight Ruby too. & has still been lasting. I've had it for a month½. So, it might be around my 15th or 20th wash. But I have bleached my hair before dying it. So, it's brighter for me. Does it last longer with bleached hair? & I agree it smells good, LOL :) (:.
Hi! thankyou so much for taking the time to explain this product throughly. I used Midnight Ruby as well and rightnow im in my 3rd wash and im loving it. Im just nervous because since so many people have told me how my hair is gonna stay stained, but im thinking that they probably mean the complete kit and not the 30 wash ones. Did your dye completely wash out after you filmed ? or do you still have a bit of red? again, thanks!
Hi! So I’m currently in the mid 30s for washes and can still see the red. I do not know if it will stain my hair or not, I assume because this is a wash-out type of dye that it will wash-out eventually. Overtone has natural color semi permanent dyes if you want to go back to your natural color if you think it stained your hair though!

Blanca I used midnight ruby and i’m at my 56th wash and it’s still red, i did not use the complete kit either
I did this on July but it won’t come out. I really need it out because school is starting in a literal week and I don’t want to get dress coded. I’m not sure what wash Im on, but it’s definitely more than 30. Not sure what to do!!

It probably didn't take as well on your roots, if you feel that it didn't, because they are so healthy, straight out of your head. Your mids and ends take it better because they have been exposed to much more so the porosity is higher and it makes them suck up the color more. It came out awesome and I am inspired to dye my brown hair now too!!! Lol
Be very careful when using this product!!! I used it for the first time tonight thinking nothing of it. It literally made my hair fire red!! I did have bleach blonde hair but was trying to get it healthy again and had my stylist dye it back to brown. I’m currently trying to get it out of my hair!!
Yea...my mom dyed my all of my hair dark blue. The say after it was so pigmented. But now, a few days later, my hair is all different shades, green, grey, the end of my hair is bright blue. What happened?
Can you dye your hair blue for a vide,Using manic panic? I’m trying to figure out a hair dye for my brown hair to work. I want to dye it blue but I don’t know if it will work. (And my hair is not bleached and I’m not planning on bleaching it either)

Your ends are naturally much lighter, so of course they soaked up the color much better than your darker roots

it depends if u get the one wash it damages the hair but this one doesn't if its used properly btw its the 30 wash
I am on the 57 wash it is NOT coming out I loved it but it is not coming out please help I used the same one you did
It doesn’t come out easily. I believe maybe you would have to try to bleach the color

@@alainamelanie8474 I thought dying my hair back to its natural color would work but red hair and brown die don’t mix so now I have black hair and that is stained in I’m gonna get highlights but I’m not sure if it will look good
