- Grand Theft Auto IV has a bug on the final helicopter when playing on Xbox Series X or Series S. No matter how quickly you try to tap A, you fall from the helicopter 😡
And don't bother trying to switch ending. Both the Deal and Revenge endings have the same helicopter.
Many people just give up after they fall from the chopper a few times, but you CAN beat this on Xbox by using the "brace & swipe" method as shown in the video.
Load up GTA 4 and finish the game.

FINALLY! Did a re-run on this back in 21 on the series s. Got seriously frustrated when I was at the last mission. Did some research and found out about the toothbrush horror story. Thank god this worked. So glad to have passed it on the x even though I've done the story 5 times on the 360. Thanks, this is a great method to bypass the glitch.

Thank you so much, I've been reading horror stories like one guy needing an electric toothbrush banging the button and another who needed a second controller and mashing the A button on both (both set to player 1 through some shared input config).
This looks like a method I'd actually be willing to do. It's such a massive shame that this one event is tied to framerate

@@chrisbowie3212 Yes indeed, that's the exact reason it's pretty easy on PS3 and 360, but nigh on impossible on One and Series consoles and why some people use a frame limiter to pass it on PC.
The game was never meant to run at more than 30 FPS (original consoles didn't even reach that) and has no frame limiter to my understanding. GTA games always had weird side effects from high FPS and this is GTA IV's
@@chrisbowie3212The exact same thing happens with the original version of resident evil 4 on Xb1/ps4-5, double the framerate means you have to tap the qtes twice as fast. This has been a thing forever now, the fact that developers still let this happen is egregious

This method worked for me after an ungodly number of attempts on Xbox Series X. I set up an extra controller in copilot mode and my stepson and I spammed the A button. The first time I got in the helicopter, I promptly lost sight of the other helicopter and got mission over lol

No joke, this game literally goes from being like a 9/10 to a 7-6/10 without a checkpoint system. There is NOTHING fun about having to do the same thing OVER AND OVER AND OVER because the developers couldnt program your shit correctly. Great story, horribly outdated POS game

@@fuer2aTry using a sock instead of rubbing the buttons with your finger. It sounds stupid, but it works. It's much more effective than using your finger.

and it's right at the end too. so you played the whole game only to get stuck on a stupid glitch! I've read tons about this issue and apparently it doesn't happen on PS4/5, but Rockstar won't fix it for Xbox One and X/S. You shouldn't have to speed rub your controller like your trying to start a fire to beat a game 😂

Works as of Feb 22 2024 on series x.
One thing I do recommend if you fail is to not restart mission via txt right away.
Instead, head to a gunstore to stock up on armor and ammo, IGNORE AND HANG UP ANY CALLS FROM LITTLE JACOB BY HITTING "B" BUTTON WHEN HE CALLS YOU cannot stress that enough.
Then go to safehouse and save, recommend using taxi to speed things up.
As soon as you wake up, bring up your cellphone and the text to replay the mission should still be there assuming you ignored/hung up on Little Jacob.
This will save you the initial chase with the goons and you'll have full ammo and armor. Don't forget the 3-4 cops on the pier after the helicopter crashes lol, take your time there

P.s. to anyone trying for liberty city, just use taxis and fast travel everywhere. I fi ished the game in 21hrs and 52 min having done everything except hanging out with friends, brucies races, pigeons and assassinations. I did everything else though. 22hrs, not bad at all and totally doable. Time to grind the rest of the achievements, that gobble gobble one is gonna take days....

Went back to replay this game for nostalgia and made it all the way through with no problems until this mission… after trying it around 5 times with no luck found this video and idk how or y this worked with how fast I was pressing the button to get the glitched screen to stop I just couldn’t get Niko into the helicopter. Absolute legend, if you can’t get it don’t be discouraged it took me over 10 try’s and make sure you watch out for the rockets shooting form pegarios boat, i promise you the ending is emotional asf and more then worth the effort DONT GIVE UP
LISTEN UP CONSOLE PLAYERS, I found a fix works 100% so you have to first go to settings, general, display options and switch your resolution to 720p, then when you climb the heli use a AA Battery and swipe quickly across the A button with it, helped me it’s legit

The way I passed it was that I took a triple A battery and rolled it over the A button real fast, and that gave Niko JUST enough leverage to actually set foot in the chopper!

I was able to finally pass this section and beat the mission using this trick in addition to lowering the resolution on my series x to 720p as well as disabling 4k, 50hz and 24hz in video modes.
i did that but it still didnt work
resolution isn't the cause, its the fps. 360 ran game with 30 fps and series x is 60.

Thanks for the help. I was ready to start a new game when I encountered the glitch, and then I realized it wouldn't matter, because the glitch would still be there. I swear, this was one of the most physically and emotionally painful things I've done in games since 2019 I guess, but it was all worth it. Thanks again for the help 👍🏼

Theoretically, if you have back buttons/paddles on your controller, will the input be fast too? All you have to probably do is assign some buttons/paddles to "A" and mash with the additional inputs. (That is if you have those types of controllers)

Bro thanks for the video. Cut straight to the point method works didn't have a flat surface but I did turn it and gave it the finger. So happy I got to finish the game. GTA v replay is next 🎉. Won't miss restarting missions from the beginning syked for GTA 6.

This was a big help, thank you. I hope this might help others too. I wasn’t doing well using my finger but I tried it using the back end of a bic type inkpen and it worked perfectly. Might be worth a try if someone is still having difficulty.
