Disco 2, TD5, Denso Alternator rectifier pack changed. (Big Lollopy Dog)!

This is a rectifier pack change on the failed atternator from my 2000 Discovery 2 TD 5. Will it live again? I don't know and will not find out uintil I am forced to change the alternator again!

Hola gracias por tu comentario Sí, el paquete rectificador que compré en Ebay. Era ligeramente diferente pero parecía encajar bien. Sin embargo, no he probado el alternador si no sé si funciona.

Great video, thank you! Could I ask, is the part you are changing often deferred to as the diode pack?

Good question. I referred to it as a rectifier pack. If it had diodes in, then it would be a diode pack. Don't honestly know. It was the only bit I could change. I must stress that I have never tested it on the car. I was going to wait until the alternator went, then fit this one. if you do it, let me know please if it works or not!

Flat battery, eventually. It was very sneaky. The alternator light came on as usual but then went straight off. It began to crank more slowly every time but I still didn't twig until it would not start at all. I've since bought one of those plug-in voltage meters to keep an eye on it!

I have to say that the alternator I changed the pack on has never been tested. I was going to wait for another failure before I fitted it.

Hello thanks for the video. Can anybody help me? The rubber isolation around the rectifier connectors in my alternator are damaged, probably by fuel. Is it possible to buy it somewhere?

Sorry, don't know. I got the rectifier pack from ebay. Perhaps a look on there? It is a few year's ago now, I'm not sure if they are available. Good luck!

@@sleepycatpictures1176 thanks, I already spotted the rectifier, the broken rubber isolation It's an alternator's part and I even don't how to properly name it 😐

@@michael_mack It is difficult when a part remains unnamed. Could it be repaired with something like shrink wrap connectors? I don't know what else to suggest.
