Aw, thanks for the mention! It's a great feeling of achievement when you tackle a job you are not keen on and you find out that it was not that bad after all! I avoid puddles as much as possible now after drowning the alternator on my Astra. £380 later . . . ! And that was 25 years ago!
I know exactly how you mean pal. Normal rain and puddles shouldn't have affected the disco alternator but I think all the mud that came through the grille clocked it up. I'm no mechanic by any means but I think it's better to learn something yourself instead of paying a fortune for the garage to do it. 👍🛠
@@deanshortland7194 Yup, I like a bit of tinkering. Getting to old for much else! I've done a video on changing the alternator rectifier pack. Unfortunately, I've never tested the alternator since. I'm waiting for another failure first!

Is there a special tool to get the oil drain hose clip off?
no special tools needed, i used a socket set and spanners to remove
@@deanshortland7194 i remembered, screwdriver to ply open the clip. Cheers though good vid. I did it with the pully on kast time from above. Far easier this way
