    I carry the same Fatty organizer in black whenever I travel. It's packed with very similar items. I don't travel that often, but of all the items I carry, I have been stopped twice because of the CRKT spork which is similar to your spork. TSA searched my bag and laughed when they found out it was nothing dangerous. A few months later and probably 8 or 10 flights later, I was cleaning out the bag and found a razor blade that went unnoticed probably 10 or 20 times by TSA. Disney Cruise Lines stopped me and asked if I was also carrying a corkscrew and/or alcohol because of the bottle opener, but then sent me on my way.

    • @GearKnowHow
      @GearKnowHow  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha same here, I got stopped for my spork and they kept asking if I knew I was carrying a knife and then just laughed at the spork when they pulled that out. Asked why I would need this and why not use free plastic ones....always be prepared...that's why!

  • @Northanteus
    @Northanteus ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do you think they'd let you bring a small (under 7 inches?) carbon steel file on? I'd bring that. They come in handy in many different ways. Even just to file your nails down a bit if needed, on top of filing down sharp pieces of metal so they don't cut you, sharpening an axe to chop wood if camping, bushcrafting, etc. etc. A good metal file comes in handy! 😉

    I mistakenly took a gerber dim on the plane from Dominican Rebublic back to the UK. Luckily it wasn't seen in the carry on luggage

    **Update**.....first time ever but at RDU I got stopped and searched because of my Tactical Pen that I've carried in this pouch a dozen times on a plane. They had to call in their supervisor because they claimed it was a knife/"bayonet" (LOL) due to the "sharp" edges on the sides and the point on the end. They let me through with it, but that's 20 min of my life I won't get back. I've started testing out running a Stainless Steel Sharpie ($4 on Amazon) for travel on airlines and so far it's been working great!

      Same thing happened to me recently. Been through TSA with my tactical pens without issue for years and suddenly had them confiscated about 8 months ago. I had to mail them home. Such a joke.

      Seen another video with the same pen. The guy had it flipped where the pen showed and not the point. Got queationed they saw the pen and moved him along.

    I always put a few extra battery’s and use the food seal bags and seal a few up so they don’t touch any thing metal and they won’t get wed just in case I had sodas exploded or paying attention usually I do but some times one of the kids can make a mess with a drink got bag bag a little wet and you have a lot of things you don’t want wet even your bandaids keep them in there to use have to use them and you go home and reseal the bag I always cut the bag a little larger so I can cut it open even and take it home and seal it up again just wanted to throw that out there last week my friends son he open a drink in my truck and got my bag wet I had to wash my bag because it was soda don’t want to have any ants living in my bag lol

    Glow sticks are literally pointless in power outage situation when you have vastly superior tool like a flashlight. What I would recommend is replacing the glow sticks with a type of plastic tube near the same length of the glow sticks and use it to carry even more batteries for your flashlight.

    • @fabiantaveras8458
      @fabiantaveras8458 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Spencer 7445 lol why would I need to light an area up for 10 hours? when I can have a flashlight that can be used when I need to use it flash light= multiple uses when ever you want. Glow stick's= one time use light aka pointless just carry more batteries.

    • @fabiantaveras8458
      @fabiantaveras8458 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Spencer 7445 again why would I to light a room up for 10 hours? This is an EDC it doesn't make any sense to carry glow sticks on the daily especially in a TSA complaint kit lol 😂 for EDC purposes a flashlight is the vastly superior illumination tool especially when you have back up batteries. Many flashlights on low power can casually out pace glow a stick and are just more flexible illumination tools overall. For EDC purposes glow sticks are 100% useless because flashlight lights exist. Now in a survival or emergency scenario I can see glow sticks being a bit more useful. But in an EDC kit? Just bring more batteries for your flashlight.

    Nicely done. Good to see a quality TSA approved EDC video. I have a Leatherman PS which is TSA approved. I usually just attach it to the outside of my pack when I travel. Some TSA folks still struggle with it until I tell them to look it up and when they do they confirm it is approved. Most of the time there are no questions. The Leatherman PS is a nice tool but only wish it had a toothpick like my Victorinox Rambler which stays on my keychain expect for when I travel.

    I am in love with your EDC. Some TSA agents might get a little upset if you forget your Kershaw knife! Did you get any issue with your Schrade tactical pen recently??

    • @GearKnowHow
      @GearKnowHow  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah actually I had to pull the pen out a few months back. Started getting stopped multiple times and they were fussing that the tip was too pointy so I ended up switching it out for a stainless steel sharpie. Still have the Schrade though, they never confiscated it just always wasted 10 minutes of my time while they stared at it.
