    I'm a md. I'm almost 90 years old. I'm in rather good shape. 2 Years ago I got breast cancer, probably following my third covid jab. During the 2month I was waiting waiting for surgery, I didn't feel like allowing the very aggressive tumor to grow further on. So I took 2 to four caps a day of Maitake, Grifola frondosa mushroom. After surgery, it turned out that the tumor in these 2 months had lost a 20% of its volume and was reclassified as little aggressive. Hurrah. Thats the power of mushrooms. No side effects whatsoever.

    Had a heart attack Dec 2020 right before the vax rollout & thank goodness I didnt get the shots when i saw the blood clotting issues with 2 new stents put in me. Was supposed to be on Lipitor(statin) & Rampiril for blood pressure for life. Researched the harm these meds do long term & went natural. I take Turkey Tail, Reishi, Maitake, Shittake & Lions Mane. 1 teaspoon of each everyday in my smoothies. I stopped taking the statin 3 years ago & have been testing my cholesterol every 9 months, cholesterol levels are great, just below normal. For the last 2 years I have been off any blood pressure meds. I ramped up getting my nitric oxide levels with beet root extracts & powders. My blood pressure is normally in the 110/65 & heart rate in the 70's. Im 65 now. Had Covid once took a week to get over, that was last November. I do 5000iu's of D3 with 200 mcg of K2. Rarely get sick even thru Covid. I do blood test for D levels & run around 72.
    Mushrooms work!!!!

    • @sdm197
      @sdm197 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would be interested in finding out where you get the supply and how you take it as I am on blood pressure medication and had to stop statins as they virtually crippled me with joint and muscle pain.

    • @kevinr.5558
      @kevinr.5558 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sdm197 Was on a high dose of Ramipril(blood pressure)5mg & Lipitor(Astorvastatin)80mg for first year after my heart attack. My wife was on Crestor(another popular statin) for 8 years & she was experiencing huge issues with her muscles & joints & couldnt lift her arms. She stopped taking them when I did & within 2 months she felt 15 years younger & was getting mobility back. I knew long term on the statin was probably going to do the same thing to me. I researched both big time & the pandemic showed me to follow the money not what was best for our health. I researched the mushrooms while still on the statin & was implementing that in my smoothies & immediately stopped after my 1 year check up with the cardiologist. I rechecked my cholesterol 6 months after & found I was in normal results. My doctor agreed no need to be on a statin if cholesterol is normal. So I remained off the statins going forward. Thing to know is a huge portion of the bad cholesterol isnt from diet but is produced by your liver as a fatty bile. What the mushrooms do is attach to this bile & lets you poop out the bad cholesterol so to speak. I will eat pizzas & have steak & eat lots of things I had before, just less. Being 6'1" weighing 215 before the heart attach, I dropped 20 pounds within 4 weeks after the heart attack & now 4 & half years later Ive maintained a weight of 192 & feel great. I walk about 10000 steps a day. My Golden retriever doesnt allow me to take any breaks lol. If you do the research, mushrooms were actually the first statin.
      The Blood Pressure med you are on will do similar long term nasty side effects as well. But I was way more careful to wean off that. I was taking 5mg Ramipril per day. So the prescription I had was pills that were 2.5mg's I took twice a day. I did a bunch of research of the importance of Nitric Oxide in your body & one of the best sources of that is beetroot. So I was taking a glass of beetroot powder first thing every mornig. At lunch I put another tsp of beetroot powder in my smoothie every day as well & I had beetroot gummies I will pop in the afternoon or evening when needed. I have my own blood pressure machine I monitor my bp 3-4 times a day. If I ran high (usually anything over 130) I popped a few gummies & it usually corrected after about an hour. Every 3 months I cut the Ramipril doseage by half. My pharmacist was great & they would label the increase number of daily pills to take to keep within the prescription, I just decided to take fewer pills accordingly until I met with doctor & got him to revise my prescription as well. After 9 months I took the plunge & went off the Ramipril completely when I consistently saw BP reading of 105-115/58-68. The only thing I take since my heart attack is 1 baby aspirin in the mornings. Thats the only thing I take.
      Beetroot powder you can get at lots of retail places like Walmart, Healthfood stores & even on Amazon.

    Wow! Dr. Campbell is branching out. Specific Beta Glucans are used as adjuncts to cancer treatments in clinical settings. PSP and PSK are both found in Turkey Tail mushroom extract. Unlike other medicinal mushrooms like Chaga and Reishi, which are very bitter, Turkey Tail is delicious. I mix the extract in every cup of coffee. It gives it a boost of flavor. Cordyceps, another potent mushroom, is also somewhat tasty. Tastes a bit like coco. Turkey tail has an earthy mushroom flavor that goes so well with coffee. Paul Stamets, the mushroom guru, has said Turkey Tail helped put his mother's breast cancer into remission.
    I'm a cancer survivor. I take it prophylactically to guard against a recurrence. Been more than ten years now. My 5 year survival rate was a 1 in 3 chance I wouldn't make it that long.

    I had instant mental relief from reishi powder, it took perhaps 5-10minutes but that's almost instant if you ask me, it was as if my brain completely changed channel.
    The weird thing is, if I stop taking it, I don't get cold turkeys, but after some days, my old symptoms come back.
    I also enjoy combining with theanine, ashwagandha and melatonin for sleep.
    Lionsmane makes me feel really weird mentally, like brain foggy and a bit nervous, definitely not for me.
    I also take turkey tale (Coriolus powder) for gut health, I go on and off with this one.
    Chaga gave me headache, so I stopped using that.
    Reishi is by far one of my fav mushrooms.
    For cooking/eating I love brown botton mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms made in butter or steamed.

    It's refreshing that more and more people are finally catching on to how powerful they are as I started learning about them around 1998. I thought for sure they would be a standard of care after witnessing profound things within my family. From stage 4 cancer to fibromyalgia and other autoimmune related challenges.
    Unfortunately most companies out there do not have chemistry knowledge or experience, and are not manufacturing them correctly, destroying most of the beneficial compounds. I personally take Tria Alchemy extracts after trying a lot of different ones without much noticeable effects. I have yet to find anything else with higher strength or efficacy...

      @@pinkbutterfly1960 the pain, fatigue, brain fog became less noticeable, and was able to sleep a lot better, until eventually became symptom free. We'd tried a few brands and noticed they weren't working that well. (if you get liquid tinctures and notice them to be rather transparent like weak coffee- they are not going to work well at all. They need to be very dark to the point you cannot see through them even under light. Powders worked ok, but had to take a LOT, which became very expensive. My family and me personally take Tria Alchemy, who also has various herbs incorporated with the mushroom extracts for various health concerns and I highly recommend. You'll notice a lot of products out there with similar or even identical ingredients, but they just aren't strong enough to get much noticeable results. Also, if you look it up, you'll see lots of published medical info about fibromyalgia and some of those same ingredients, such as Reishi mushroom for example. I hope this helps!

    • @stevelibby3
      @stevelibby3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@NightmareCo666 I left a detailed reply above... There are definitely answers to your condition and I know exactly how you feel! The various functional mushrooms can help, along with certain herbs...they just need to be strong enough, you have to take enough, and be consistent with it. It's not a "try" for a month type of situation. Conditions like fibromyalgia and other autoimmune disorders (or any other health problem), didn't get that way overnight and arent' going to magically disappear overnight either- so keep that in mind... Wishing you a speedy recovery! 🙏🏼

    • @stevelibby3
      @stevelibby3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      One thing I've learned the hard way and wish that I could get all the money back that I wasted over the years on supplements... With "tinctures" or liquid extracts- If they are transparent at all... do NOT waste your money, as they are very watered down, and usually way too much alcohol, with very little amounts of actual extract. They need to be super dark and no light should pass through them. Think of it like weak coffee (isn't going to do much). As for powders and capsules...they usually only have part of the beneficial compounds that you need, and the majority are mass produced from China. Also, with any mushroom supplement- when you see "fruiting body only"- it is almost always going to be manufactured by amateurs new to the industry. The mycelium which makes the mushrooms even happen, contain very beneficial components that the mushrooms themselves do not have. My health issues improved drastically when I started taking the higher strength product that also contains mycelium. The supplement industry is polluted with amateurs trying to make a quick buck, with no real knowledge and will convince people that aren't aware of these factors with hype and fancy marketing. I hope this helps people out there so you can get the results you want. 🙏🏼

    Just a personal opinion, but in the UK, we have been informed for many generations, that all mushrooms are dangerous and also that you must not touch any you find in nature. I was taught what to pick by a wonderful Polish friend and since her basic advice, I have expanded my knowledge and now know about 15 species that can be safely foraged and eaten. If you are not confident in foraging, you should not pick anything, but the knowledge is easy enough to gain and it is a very rewarding pastime in the summer and autumn.
    We need a fungi renaissance in the UK. This is just my personal opinion of course.

And then you also get delicious food for the whole year from your dried and pickled mushrooms 😋
