Crimson Sky was never about an invasion, loudly announced to all his men (and any spies that might have been listening). Crimson Sky was always about destroying Ishido's hold on the other noble houses. Mariko forcing the Catch-22 and then her subsequent seppuku * was * Crimson Sky. In the great game of Chess, Toranaga sacrificed his Queen. Next episode we'll see whether or not this sacrifice was worth it. And also end the show.
We are blown away by this episode, the final episode didn't quite match the emotions of this one for us but still answered a lot of questions for us! The shocking reveal at the end of this episode hit us hard, we didn't expect it at all!
