  • In this video I'll show you how to add pom pom trim to your cross stitch pillow finishes.
    Supplies I use:
    mini pom pom trim that can be separated from the salvage ribbon. I've used poms from Lady Dot Creates and Vintage Needle Arts.

    It’s good to know that I’m not the only one who can’t do a quilter’s knot! Thanks for both tutorials!

    I was actually in the middle of pulling off pom poms when you said to snip the little filament several inches in and then pull from the loose end to get a larger amount off at once. I was sitting here snipping and pulling off the filament between each pom pom and the braid! 🤪🤣 Thank you for saving my sanity!

      Sometimes if I have a difficult strand of pom poms I'm cutting it off one by one too. It's the worst!!

      @@helend.flosstube thankfully the strand I have from Vintage NeedleArts was easy! I have some more from them and Lady Dot, but haven't used any of it yet. Thanks for the heads up and useful tips & tutorials!

    You are brilliant 🤩 And I love your humor. And your stitching. My Mom couldn’t do a quilter’s knot, either, and taught me a basic knot. As of now, I’ve sewn 4 project bags as instructed by your awesome tutorial. Thank you so very much for all you do for us crafters. 🌹

    Another great tutorial! The pillow came out so cute! Do you know if you always have to remove the pompoms from that ribbon they're attached to? Could they be sewn into the seam (sandwiched between the top and bottom fabric layers) while still attached to the ribbon ? Have a great weekend!

    • @helend.flosstube
      @helend.flosstube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Maureen! The poms don't have to be removed from the ribbon, they can be sewn into the seam. Personally I prefer this method because I like to sew my pillows with an opening on the bottom to stuff instead of cutting a slit in the back. When you have the opening on the bottom it can be tricky to then sew the poms in when you're closing the hole. And I like that this gives me a very precise finish.

    Helen, is there a reason to cut the pom poms off and sew it by hand ? I just need to know why the pom pom tape is cut off instead of just sewing it in the seam when finishing the pillow. I hope that makes sense as it was hard to phrase correctly. Thanks!

      Hi Debra! You can just sew the pom pom tape into the seam. Personally I prefer this method because I like to sew my pillows with an opening on the bottom to stuff instead of cutting a slit in the back. When you have the opening on the bottom it can be tricky to then sew the poms in when you're closing the hole. And I like that this gives me a very precise finish. But you certainly can just sew it in! :)
