  • A cross stitch pillow finish is a classic for a reason, but let's make it SPOOKY! In this step-by-step tutorial we'll cover what you need, how to attach trim, and a bit of motivation for those who - like me - are not pro at sewing.

This was nice and easy to understand! I can always use more inspiration for how to finish cross stitch patterns, so I'd love to see what else you recommend :)

Hi Michell! Are you Scottish? Love your channel and yes I'm having the best Halloween EVER! I'm retired, just his last March 2023. Woo-hoo! No more boss giving me bad reviews after I knock myself out working nights and weekends plus working all day. Not a slave anymore. You bet I'm having a great Halloween. Thanks for asking.

Perfect quick tutorial! Maybe I’ll finally convert some of my stitches to pillows, you make it seem very manageable!

You saw the state of my sewing skills here, it really doesn't take much to get a good end result. You can probably do a much better job without the camera in the way too. Do it, you know you want to! 😅

So Love seeing your videos show up here in the beautiful autumnal PNW of the USA…….You did indeed did teach this “Old Gray Mare” some new tricks…..I loved the Pom Pom action trim……You shared some tips that make me now want to hunt down some trim at a Thrift Store and practice my hand at it…..Yes More Spooky next week….

It's honestly such a simple way to get something that looks like it took a lot of effort, and of course the trim is very cheap which is always a bonus in my book! Thanks for the lovely comment as usual, if you do try this I'd love to know how it went :)

Thanks for this video! Always a good review for finishing and seeing basics. Also- I am notorious for getting to the 90% finishing mark on my projects, then they sit for a year lol.

Great video Michelle! I've lived that pattern since you showed it last year, thanks for the link to purchase it. I couldn't resist anymore. I'll probably steal your finishing technique too. If not for this pattern then definitely another. I love how it turned out. ❤

Thanks! Honestly as soon as I stitched this one up I could see it wanted to be a little pillow, it just took me a whole year to get around to it 😂 Do eeeeeeet!

Thanks for the kind words! And don’t worry, Allison and i aren’t sharing the Ko-Fi subscription. Only I (Stephanie) am using it and have the patterns. I just used the name for the account in case we ever do anything on Ko-Fi for my patterns down the road. Very cute pillow! ❤

What a delightful video! Once again, great tutorial. You break things down really well. Also, I love that pattern (I keep meaning to stitch it myself), it makes an adorably spooky pillow. :D

    "Hand sewing detritus" 🤣
When closing up, I also like to bury the tail of my thread by running the needle straight through the project. Tug it a little tight when you snip and the tail will pull itself back inside the fluff.

Ooh yes! I normally do that too, not sure why it didn't occur to me this time. Maybe because I was too busy cursing the black on black 😂 Great tip thank you!

I still don't know how I want to finish mine :D I wanted to opt for a classic framing but the pillow idea is super cute, I might get tempted!

I figured something that could survive being squished into a somewhat overflowing box with the rest of the ever-increasing Halloween collection would be a good shout, lol. Thanks again, really love the pattern!

That's awesome! I'd love to know if you've ever tried weaving? I got a loom weaving kit from Aldi but I'm struggling a little. Would love your expert opinion (I've also got a dream catcher kit and a punch thingy kit if they are more to your tastes) love your helpful videos 👍

    • @TheGiddyStitcher
      @TheGiddyStitcher  ปีที่แล้ว

Honestly I never have, although I've been following a few weavers on Mastodon so you'll be unsurprised to hear I'm tempted. Do they, uh, still have these kits at Aldi? Asking for a friend.
