At 71, I’ve had a beard for most of my life......always short. I’m making the attempt to grow it out, similar to yours. I very much like the shape and length of your beard. My cheek lines and the texture of my facial hair seem a lot like yours. Thank you for your videos......I always enjoy them.
I don't have a super long beard, but what I've noticed is that when I grow it out for a few months then do a trim it always ends up looking fuller than it would have at that length had I just stopped growing it at that point. I think the slower hairs end up catching up and you end up with something unique and only achievable by letting it grow out longer first. It's such a fun and interesting process. Love the way it looks Mahesh. ✌️
I absolutely love all of what is talked about. He doesn't simply talk about the beard and that the beard is not who he is. "Are you only being the beard or are you a man with a beard?" - Mahesh
I agree on the shorter fuller beard for all of the reasons you have said Mahesh. I now can remember one of Craig's older videos when he said that people around us will not notice much of a difference when we go to a shorter beard. I've done that myself recently after completing my yeard and I'm much happier with my look given all the points made by both of you. Thank you Beardbrand.
I just did the same thing, it’s so liberating and looks so much fuller like you said. So many less bad beard days. I don’t understand the stigma behind the no trimming. Doesn’t make any sense. Longer doesn’t mean better.
Mahesh, he did a GREAT job! I think it's a HUGE improvement. I thought the old beard look good but wasn't crazy about the point on the bottom. This new look suits you just fine.
Seriously, the Sultan and Mahesh have helped me out immensely when it has comes to my beard. I hadn't cut it down to my face for a good 9 years. I have tried trimming here and there and would be happy for awhile but I would fall back into not being 100% happy with it. This I attribute to me growing it and trimming a bunch while I grew it. Given everything I've learned with my beard in all those years and the Sultan just owning that you are you, you are not your beard. I decided that if I want my beard to be exactly how I want it, I should just start over. Mind you I haven't actually shaved but I have trimmed inches off. I'm confident in knowing I can get back to where I want to be but I'm also cool with where I am. Cheers guys!
Hey Mahesh great video. Love the new beard look. It suits you as did the long beard. Growing beard has added to my self esteem for some reason but as you said it is only part of who I am. Thanks for posting. Always enjoy your talks.
It definitely takes a few days to a week for the beard to set in after you've trimmed more than an inch+ off. I find that if I trim a 5 or 6 monther down to a 3 monther, it for certain takes a handful of days for the beard to look like it should.
Yea man, your beard looks beast now. I agree with the length problem. It gets to a point were its wispy and when it reaches a certain length it just looks long and narrow. Almost looks like a long gotee regardless of it being a full beard. Great choice, and looks awesome.
My beard isn't the longest, but a few of these vids have definitely given me the confidence to trim the wispy shit from the bottom of my beard - girth over width all day! Cheers brother.
I have to be honest, for years I have struggled with always feeling like I have to have the longest beard around...period. If I saw someone with a longer beard, It reinforced my thinking. The problem was, It never looked as good to others, as it did to me. And also, the whole "identification" thing...working a farmer's market, I took pride in being known as "the guy with THE beard"...rather than "the guy with A beard"...I too also want to be appreciated for who I am, rather than how I look... and at a certain length (no where near Mahesh's long beard) mine did get very thin...so, I need to change my thinking, and my trimming....right now I'm at about 41/2-5 inches.....We love ya Mahesh, thanks for keeping us honest!
Shorter or longer, that really is up to you. Looks great both ways. I really enjoy having facial hair and remember back to as a boy how I wanted to have a beard...but society did not permit this when my beard started growing as a young man. Jobs didn't allow it...restaurant, sales, and the military law enforcement...no beards back in the early 80s until just recently. I finally was able to embrase facial hair and allow it to grow it when I was about 40 years old and have had facial hair most of the time since then. I am now 57 and really like my salt and pepper beard...turning silver now. Short, long, it's all good as long as we are happy with our appearance.
Excellent video. I have been deliberating recently whether to trim the beard following my yeard, or just keep growing. I have recently felt like I was growing for the sake of growing and haven't really been happy with quality of my beard. This video has really helped me to decide to finally trim, your beard looks in excellent condition. It may be nice to strive for "terminal" beard...but I now realize I am actually seeking "optimal" beard...thanks once again for this super video.
Mahesh my friend your beard looks good even when it was long👍🏼👍🏼 in all honesty you seemed like a master barber that specializes in beard trims as if you were a wizard 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mahesh, I just found your channel and have watched aprox 10 videos on shears and beard cuts. this one though hits right home, you mention so many points I have as well. Similar beard as your self growing strong for over 23 years. My wife tells me the same thing I'm like you happy having it long = less maintenance. I am about to put the trim in and round and shorten to about what your working with now. thanks allot for sharing your experience with us.
More power to you mahesh! I agree condition over length any day! Mine is a bit shorter than yours only cause i like having a fuller look and just going from there. You are right about owning the beard,
1) Did you video it? 2) It looks a lot more professional. Given your line of work, a perfectly maintained squared off beard is I would say necessary to your image.
Great thoughts! Sometimes, letting your beard grow doesn't make any good. Your arguments remind me of what I tell myself in the mirror when I'm about to trim.
yeah i get what you mean. i used to have really long curly thick hair akin to slash from guns n roses and after so many years of growing that out it because so much of what people would think of when they saw me that when i eventually outgrew it and wanted something shorter i was wondering what sort of impact it would have on my social life. Just turned out people would stare at me a bit less haha ever since then ive never been too scared off a change of style when you shave off over 20 inches of hair wearing some colourful trousers or something like that isnt a huge deal anymore
Just ordered some beard oil from you guys! it smells great and i got a nice sample of your old money cologne, which also smells great! you can guarantee i’ll be a consistent customer, because you guys are awesome.
The beard is in point as always sir.A change is good every once in a while, and for me that the fun think about beards(experiment).Everything you said was very for me!
Beard looks great Mahesh, Dave nice job man. I recently had a beard trim as well, sometimes you take a little off and the beard looks a whole lot better. Plus It will always grow back. Take care friends
That is my first comment on your channel. I was really surprised by your new look and the fact that you cut that much of your beard. And I must admit that your beard looks better now than before the trim :) That was a bold move to cut that much and it pays off by the look of it ! kudos !
What do you think of Mahesh's new look? Let us know in the comments!
- Jack
Beardbrand mahesh from INDIA????
Loving the look Mahesh
I liked his long beard. I like his beard as it is trimmed. It still looks good and he's satisfied with it.
Beardbrand I think the new look is far better. Still retains his trademark look, but the beard looks fuller and the shape is spot on. 👌
looks great, very smart...
Love the Cut, Sir. I say healthy over length anyday--but then, its really a personal choice, isn't it?
At 71, I’ve had a beard for most of my life......always short. I’m making the attempt to grow it out, similar to yours. I very much like the shape and length of your beard. My cheek lines and the texture of my facial hair seem a lot like yours. Thank you for your videos......I always enjoy them.
I love how that’s a trim for him. That’s as long as some guys could ever dream of, myself included. Looks good, brother!
I don't have a super long beard, but what I've noticed is that when I grow it out for a few months then do a trim it always ends up looking fuller than it would have at that length had I just stopped growing it at that point. It actually looks really good because of how full it now looks. You're right. Love it
"just a bit shorter" THAT'S QUITE A BIT SHORTER! However, change is good, and it does look great. Definitely appears to be thicker and fuller.
I just did the same thing, it’s so liberating and looks so much fuller like you said. So many less bad beard days. I don’t understand the stigma behind the no trimming. Doesn’t make any sense. Longer doesn’t mean better.
It's awesome to not get tied down to one single look, isn't it?
- Jack
Beardbrand absolutely.
Looks Much Better , I would have wanted the same , much more healthy looking . Outstanding length and density . Good for you Mahesh ! Looks Great .
Your beard looks great. I like it.
Love the shorter beard and love the idea of going with a gnarly stache!! I wish my mustache would grow thick.
Mahesh, he did a GREAT job! I think it's a HUGE improvement. I thought the old beard look good but wasn't crazy about the point on the bottom. This new look suits you just fine.
When people ask "Do you miss your big beard?"
My reply is "No, I missed my face" lol
Excellent response!
- Jack

That would have been an excellent response, If you get what I mean.
Lol I've asked you this before
100% how I felt.
Looks amazing man. I enjoyed watching the trim on your channel (Mahesh’s) but it seems to have been taken down. What’s up with that?
I believe Mahesh is migrating his videos onto his new channel, All Us Men
- Jack
Looks great just had my beard shaped up and am happy with my look it's very hard here in NC to find someone that can shape a big beard
This is a much better look for you, in my opinion. The difference made by a few inches is amazing.
Much better, mate
What a chill guy Mahesh is. Love all his videos.
Looks awesome Mahesh!! Neat and full.
Hey Mahesh great video. Love the new beard look. It suits you as did the long beard. Growing beard has added to my self esteem for some reason but as you said it is only part of who I am. Thanks for posting. Always enjoy your talks.
It looks much more uniform. Really brings it all together, looking great 👍
Absolutely!
- Jack
I like the look of both but it all comes down to what makes you happy.
You're one of the only bald guys (like me) I can find in these channels.
Same here!
Ten years younger, Mahesh! Who's next, Billy Gibbons???
Mahesh, BIG fan and I've gotta say the beard looks great! Keep on keeping on.
It definitely takes a few days to a week for the beard to set in after you've trimmed more than an inch+ off. I find that if I trim a 5 or 6 monther down to a 3 monther, it for certain takes a handful of days for the beard to look like it should.
He seem like such a Genuine, deep and humble guy, really love his way,
We can back that up, Mahesh is one of the coolest, nicest, and most down-to-earth guys we've ever met.
- Jack
"Because I felt like it" is all the explanation needed.
Great video man, really liking the trim, it looks really good & much thicker.
Looks great Mahesh! Not a bad change at all!. Looks nice and full man. It'll always grow back 👍
Well said Mahesh and I like the newly trimmed beard.
Looks good!! Hair always grows.
Wow Mahesh, it looks really good brother! Can’t wait to see if it keeps the density when you grow it back!!
You're beard still looks fantastic.
i liked your Kamesennin style beard but this is your choice and its still great. Still envy the grey transition
Looking great Mahesh. Beards looking healthy, full, and hydrated.
Fantastic! New glasses too? Good choice. ;)
I liked how your beard looked before, but this style looks great too. Some great shape on that!
Mahesh with the badass beard! I absolutely love the new cut!
Looks good brother...No regrets! I think it will suit you're lifestyle better.
Yea man, your beard looks beast now. I agree with the length problem. It gets to a point were its wispy and when it reaches a certain length it just looks long and narrow. Almost looks like a long gotee regardless of it being a full beard. Great choice, and looks awesome.
I like it! Looks great! Nice change!

Looks amazing! Also great perspective as usual Mahesh.
Cheers mate. Do what you will.

Much better than earlier! I want a beard like that.
I like it. I was a fan of the longer beard but I do think the shorter, fuller beard looks better imo
Your beard looks great with this shape maye

After I watched this video. Sir Mahesh looks so nice in this shape and length too. It's suits at his Face better than before.

Looks good and I bet certain things in life are easier with the shorter beard

Beard looks great Mahesh! But your 'stache is stellar! Your ink looks amazing also. Nice style you put together!
Great thoughts! Sometimes, letting your beard grow doesn't make any good. Your arguments remind me of what I tell myself in the mirror when I'm about to trim.
It's something to always keep in mind when growing a beard
- Jack
Your beard looks fantastic now. It looked fantastic then. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.
You look very handsome with your beard! The beard really complements your facetype.
I totally dig the new look!!
yeah i get what you mean. i used to have really long curly thick hair akin to slash from guns n roses and after so many years of growing that out it because so much of what people would think of when they saw me that when i eventually outgrew it and wanted something shorter i was wondering what sort of impact it would have on my social life. Hey Mahesh, I think you look smashing. I like the shape better than when it was long. The round glasses are better as well.
mad respect for Mahesh
Looks really good, fuller, and better balanced with his face.
AMAZING I love it!!!!!!!

I think your beard trim is super and a change is always good for you 🙌💜👍

Exactly! Changing things up is refreshing
- Jack

Looks very full, doesn't it?
- Jack

New look still looks amazing.
I think he looks better with the new beard and question for the beardbrand guys is a round or square beard better for a chubby face
*Its Mimir! The smartest man alive!*
IMO looks even better, nice trim
Looking good, Mahesh.
Dude it looks so much better!
Love the crisp white beard. Looks like fresh shaved ice lol
Great video. We will know you for your great talent and for who you are. 🙂
He is a Master Champion in martial arts
Looks a lot more full!! Looks great!!
The beard looks great brother, if I had the patience to grow a big beard I would hope it looks like yours! 🤘
Actually, I think that's the perfect length and shape. Doesn't get in the way of every day tasks and still looks like a Boss.
Looks sharper Mahesh, good decision!
That is my first comment on your channel. I was really surprised by your new look and the fact that you cut that much of your beard. And I must admit that your beard looks better now than before the trim :)
That was a bold move to cut that much and it pays off by the look of it ! kudos !
Looks great brother! Enjoy!
