I just want to say, I really appreciate the take on "is x mod cheating?" The focus on if you are cheating in a single player non-competative game makes no sense to me, and its refreshing to find someone big who doesn't ascribe to it.
for real. it really feels like he says that about every run, then he beats it first shot. i always thought "oh it's because if the run is less than an hour long, and he doesn't get anything that actually gets going. he just doesn't post the vod to youtube" but if i'm not the only one noticing it, maybe it's true
I was actually worried that you wouldn't be uploading these edited runs anymore (for some reason). I'm really glad to see this! Very different playstyle.
The reason why the fires were getting so huge before it triggered rain to put them out is because that mechanic is tied to map size. It works on a threshold of "x% of the map is on fire." So since you were playing with a gigantic map size, that meant that it took a whole lot of fire before the forced rain got triggered.
for real? i can't be bothered to go back and rewatch sections of every run to really check, but i do remember sometimes he'd be begging for rain and it just never came. but i got no clue if that was just bad luck, or when he was playing on the larger than he usually does maps
Hey man I don't know if you read comments but I really really appreciate that you fully edit those runs and I'm sure I'm not the only ones. So many youtubers out there just press record and leave you with the whole unpalatable things. Plus it encourages people to check out your streams if we want the full version!
This was immensely entertaining, i'm glad you didn't just do that strategy of just sitting outside for the entire run. Made sense to get over the hurdle and complete the run. The lyle story arc was hilarious, i mean rimworld is about telling stories but it's rare a raider gets one and this one all the bits just added up.
this is the first run i've watched at all, and man, it completely changes everything i thought i understood about the game. i seriously don't even have to fight raids, i can just hide in a corner of the map, they'll look around and then leave? also, i had no idea you could build such a big wall using just the stone chunks laying around on a map.
Commenting for the first time ever to say I love these full run edited videos. Hopefully by commenting it ups the engagement and makes it profitable for you to keep making them.
I think there are at least 2 reasons for people constantly asking loophole questions: - it's fun to find loopholes and workarounds - todays amount of clickbait everywhere makes people sceptic about claims such as "100% pacifist run". They are looking for a catch
before anyone ask, no he couldn't do anything to hurt others, directly or indirectly. yea people asked loopholes to go around the challenge in the livestream. lol
but if they couldn't feel pain, are you really hurting them? and if they aren't sophisticated enough to speak your language, it's not like they could confirm or deny if whatever actions being taken against them is harming them, or painful 😇😇. for all anyone knows, it's what they wanted all along _but what if you constantly called in bulk goods traders while having the monolith up to hope they get attacked and die. just so you can kill something_
Just a little comment for this edited run, at 35:50 we don't have a lot of context as to what is happening, and the next cut, the raid is over. It would be nice to see the whole struggle unweil before our eyes, the suspense is what makes watching these runs so fun. 😊 Anyway, just my 2 cents here for the editor, loved the run!
This is a great video! I play with mods, easier difficulty, and I'm just learning wealth management, but I learned a lot just hearing you talk about the rules and respond to chat. Great editing too! Thanks!
BTW, I like the vanilla setup, because I'm always worried about mods causing stability issues in my own play. I like seeing how you solve problems to learn for my own play.
Hey Adam, great run! I have an idea for a new run. Make a playthrough where boots escaped and abandoned his old pacifist ways. He wants revenge through fire. A pyromaniac run where only fire weapons are permitted. The recruits also have to pass "The trial by fire". Pain is virtue style 😂 cheers mate
The talk about modded Rimworld is actually exactly why I discovered Adam - Mod Rimworld all you want everyone, there's nothing wrong with it. But when I was new to the game, I could not tell what was modded and what was Vanilla, and the less I recognized the less interested I was in watching the Rimworld content
I couldn’t watch the broadcast, it was too long at that time. It was very interesting, what is the strategy of winning in such run. I'm glad you made an edited version! Thanks and gg ✌🤟
I play lightly modded but one of the mods I do use is autoblight cut because I do not find micromanaging pawns to cut the blight. Your entire job is growing plants, I would hope you are smart enough as a legendary planter to cut the blight first in your fields.
Ok I don’t usually comment on ‘y own comment but @adamvseverything the mods discussion at ~20 minutes so true and you are definitively the go to for no mod rimworld why I love the channel so much. I can’t stand when they have corn I don’t understand 😂

I turned off the mods too and enjoyed the game more because I had less options to solve problems and had to learn how to do work around of things mods would automatically do, not dropping CE tho lol

Great video and I love the channel you built here from becoming the master of vanllia rim world! Which I have been watching a ton of rim world content lately and via the discotion you have with your chat have realized... Reloading your last save in rimworld will almost never save your run as unlike Xcom Rimworld runs fail most of the time due to compound errors, lack of prperation or just getting in a situation you have no ability to get out off... Which makes rimworld pretty un save scumable as like Civlistion or pardox games going back to your last save will not save you the vast maoirty of the time.. Instead you would need to go back alot of saves to even have a chance of doing better and you may do worse... Makes me wonder why desator save videos are not popular among the rim world youtube community yet... As unlike civ and pardow games Rim world has so many macaics that interact extremely oddly most of the time so even a pro rimworld player will have trouble saving a colony from rimworld being rimworld... So personally I don't get why most rimworld tubers insint on ending a run just because some thing whent hobly wrong and instant killed the colny which in a challanmgfe run the needed to reset is the whole idea. But a normal ruun I don't see the point as you very likely can't save the run any way with out pretty much reseting it... Which what I find most fun in games is getting out of relly bad situations I run head first into which rimworld can genmrate in endless ways... Also Rimworld being a sandbox game means that no one should be forced to play the game the same way... So if someone wants to try to save scum why not? It won't work most of the time and when it does it won't work the next time... Also Rimworld is about the journey yes but that does not mean that dies in a dumb way that makes you sad is what they mean... If they did RImworld would not have all the options at world gen to cheat and break the game... It world also only have auto save not quick saves and tons of manuel saves or an easy to access dev mode... So yeah clearly the devs want you to find your own fun on Rimworld not be forced to play it a sirtian way like frankly to many games make you do... Killing the fun of the game to people who are not the veery small target audance... Rimworld is not that type of game it has limits yes but idf anything they just add flavor and contact everyones expernice as the core of Rimworld is that fact you are on a rimworld in a dangerous distant future. Like the rimworld is the only constant that no one has overcome so the only way you can play rimworld wrong is by attemptinmg to set your run anywhere else... It flat won't work and will only make you upset if you try.

i was too but i think its mainly it taking a long time to do + edit (since there's hours of footage lol)

"The Festival of Blood" was actually a misnomer, it's more akin to "The Festival of keeping Blood in our Bodies"
Nah, it just ran out of characters. The full name was "The Festival of Blood preservation"

Adam could literally find a way to beat the game blindfolded and playing on a DDR dance pad, and someone will still say "stop using cheese".😂😂
