I have a normal joystick and not a xbox 360 gamepad. There are factors such as degrees of rotation. Also, it does not do good with curves and I always slam the wall. Any recommendations?

I dont know how these settings made such a difference since the ones I had were not that much different, but after just turning stability control off and not being able to drift anymore I can finally drift again. Thankyou i had a feeling something was off because it was ridiculous how easy I lost control. It was like understeer didn't exist.

After trying many different setups including this one. I found them all lacking. What I ended up doing is turning every advanced setting except rumble to its minimum and using 80% Speed Sensitivity. I will probably change speed sensitivity as I get more comfortable with the physics. I recommend everybody try this setup as it’s the only one that’s allowed me to push cars and control them on the limit.

I came here just to say, I tried manipulating all the settings SO many times and was getting very frustrated.
The only thing that saved me was turning down steering wheel lock in the general assetto corsa settings. I turned it to 100° (default is 200 I think). Absolutely GAME changing.

I'll stick to my settings for Grapracing, but the drift settings are kinda nice once you get used to em.

Do you know hot to stop the controller from snapping when I want to steer. Steering sensitivity and speed didn’t really reduce this. I’m on pc btw so I can use mods

greetings from the future, not sure if your still playing this but the settings for this in content manager are in percentages its wierd not sure how to convert them.
speed sens - 10%
steering speed - 25%
steering gamma -170%
steering filter - 23%
steering deadzone - 0.3%
i put them into my settings like that and it seems to work great

You can use any controller but you cannot change key bindings with the Dual Shock. It will not let you.

For some reason the game will let me use the xbox one controller but it will not let me change the gearshift options. When i mouse over gearshift and select it in options menu it says "waiting for input" and i try to press the RB button on the xbox controller and nothing happens. Anyone know what i am doing wrong?

Then it will appear like a XBOX controller on Assetto Corsa, no big deal.

3rd person sucks in this game.....why does the camera sway wildly when in 3rd person? It's like they force you to drive onboard (which is the best and fun way anyways), but my god, they need an option to fix the 3rd person camera....

I cant assign controls for my steam controller, it just doesnt register. Either this game is full with glitches or the devs. hate steam controllers
Try setting up the controller in Big Picture Mode then configure it in game. Also, I think there's an option in the Big Picture Mode settings you have to enable to have your controller work properly.
steam controllers are suck a fucking joke, horrible compatibility and probably one of the most uncomfortable game peripherals i've ever held

Speed sensitivty is absolutely horrible. That's not how you play any racing game with a gamepad. With 10% just a milimeter too much and the car is spinning, crashing or else. Just set it higher to get a natural steering feeling like in any other racing game
I tried the settings, the game remains unplayable, I have done the entire Gran Turismo series with controllers, I was doing fine. With Assetto Corsa I cannot do a normal lap at normal speed without crashing ??! Are you guys seriously managing to play with controller ?
The settings he gave were complete shit.
Here's a general baseline that most controller players use:
Speed Sensitivity: 40% (can be changed as per your preference)
Steering Speed: 100% (can be lowered, but it's better to learn how to play with 100 as you can make quick counter steers etc)
Steering Deadzone: change to suit your controller, every one is different
Steering Filter: 0.82 (can be lowered along with the steering speed)
Steering Gamma: 2.2 (can be increased slightly if you prefer)

The main issue with the controller is correcting oversteer. It's all fine when you have grip but as soon as your car slips and you try to correct it you spin and crash
I am able to connect a Nintento Switch Pro Controller but it does not work on Assetto. It recognizes it when I press the buttons but when I start the game nothing happens Any idea?
