Really enjoying your channel content. Keep up the excellent work. You certainly standout amongst the plethora of audio critics out there….breath of fresh air for sure.
I received mine two weeks ago. Much better quality sound than my Apple Pro 2. Much more clear and full sound. Very happy with them and I am very picky on sound.
What about daily comfort wearing those two ? Got the apple pro 2 and i am a bit picky about Sound but also comfort . Possible to go to the Gym ? Tks a lot
@@pierrougne The modes are easier to set on the Apple Pro 2. You have to get into the app to do it on the Pi8 but there is an equalizer in the app with sliders which is a must for ANY sound device. The comfort is less but the sound stage and clarity is definitely much better. Apple are more powerful and louder but the Pi8 sound much better.
@@bertraminc9412Im also very picky on sound I don’t like it when Music is just loud with no actual depth or detail to it, like for example when u can clearly and distinctly hear a guitar thats being played in the background. (Classical music) So i just wanted to ask if the Pi8 match these characteristics of clear separation and detail in sound.
@ I’m not an expert on sound stage but I think that the Air Pods are too bright and loud compared to the Pi8. I think when people say wide sound stage I didn’t understand this fully until I compared the Pi8 to the Air Pods. I was listening to some music with a choir of girls in the background and I immediately noticed that they were noticeable on the Pi8 more so than the Air Pods. I think more music can be heard. Like my other B&W speakers more mid tones also. Overall a much more full sound experience and not as harsh.
Great review! I've been waiting for a good care of Bluetooth earbuds with audiophile Quality at a reasonable price, and these sound like they just might fit the bill!😊
Nice review and it would not be hard to have better SQ than any Apple devices, the AirPod 2 Pro have the best AMB Mode out there and vey good ANC (beaten by Sony/Bose and possible 1-2 others recently) but not audio SQ esp. on Android or PC using better codecs than AAC with other earbuds like MTW4/FiiO FW5, etc etc (aptX Adaptive/LDAC/LHDC)
I think the app2 compete quite well for SQ (sounds better on an iphone), the issue is no eq.Otherwise they are very well balanced and work well for any genre.
@@jasonMB999 Is not that I dislike them, just don’t love them, the sound quality is good, but not great, have better ones, and they’re uncomfortable to wear.
That's a great and solid review! Have you had the chance to compare these to Sony's WF1000-X5? I like these come with a 12mm DD which can potentially translate to better sound quality.
Would these work as studio monitors? I know wired headsets are supposed to be better, but I have never found a model that wouldn't get me sored ears when worn for a somewhat long time... BTW I've used Audio Technica and AKG Models, they both hurt my ears... in contrast, I am very comfortable wearing wired apple earbuds during long periods.
What about connectivity walking down the street, on the subway, or in a crowded store? You know, the real world! I had a pair of B&W Pi7s and they would drop out frequently. The sound was good, but the terrible connectivity ruined the experience of listening to music. From what I have heard from others, the Pi7 S2 had similar problems and I've seen a few reviews mention dropouts of one or both buds on the new Pi8. Did you have any issues when using the Pi8 out in a real-world environment?
I’d like to find a pair of wireless earbuds that sound as good as my wired Shure SE846 earbuds. I have the Sennheiser Momentum wireless earbuds but they are a notch below the SE846’s. I love the convenience of wireless. Love to know how the B&W’s compare. I used to own the B&W 800 Signature speakers many years ago as well as quite a few other B&W’s through the years. They were my first high end speaker brand some 40 years ago. BTW, the SE846 buds sound best using my old Pono player in balanced mode!
But not once could u show us U using and testing the earbuds..just some supplied pictures. It cannot be a review if ur not showing us all …u testing. Failure.
I'm sure this presenter is a nice guy, but he's never going to be a TH-cam star. You're not supposed to just sit there obviously reading a script in a mannered and stilted style. The Stereophile and Absolute Sound world of old men extolling the imaginary virtues of obscenely priced equipment is on life-support. Old men no longer even have the top octaves of their hearing. I love great audio and gear as much as anyone, but the defining characteristic of an audiophile is a rich fantasy life.
I'm curious how these stack up against Sennheiser TW3s. Worth the upgrade? I only go wireless when working out or waiting at the airport. All other headphone listening is through cabled cans, so I'm not sure these are worth the spend unless the sound is significantly better than the TW3.
As a Owner of TW3s, who literally bought and returned 4 premium TWE (True Wireless Earbuds) just to come back to my TW3s, I say just keep them bro. I work at a bestbuy, so you can imagine what I'm talking about. Its very ez for me to return things/exchange. I had a pair of B&W headphones. I returned them because the made my songs sound to soft, with not enough detail or bass/treble. And I bought the SM3s (Sennheiser Mommentum 3s)Headphones. And as you know from the earbuds, the Headphones sound amazing as well, with rich detail and bass detail that's not just boom boom messy cloudy trash you would get it you tried Sony Headphones for example. Yadda Yadda , I say all this to say, don't end up like me who went on a journey to find the one that got away, all just to come back to them. P.S I will say ,when I tested the Devialet - Gemini II, they did sound better then the TW3s(Like 2 points better 8/10 vs 10/10). the only reason I returned them for the TW3s was because A. BestBuy didn't want to insure them(like a protection plan) and B. they had a small noise cancelling hiccup glitch where when you are around a sudden really loud sound, they stop working altogether like a spooked sheep. And you would have to take them out and place them back in the charging case in order to turn them back on. If you have any question on the other 3 I tested just shoot me a comment.

For travel and every day use in many environments, noise cancelling is as important as sound quality and comfort.

No problems so far with a WiFi intensive environment, but I'll try them when there are 100 phones nearby.

Now that we have the necessary software, we'll check the AptX Adaptive mode which allows higher than Bluetooth data rates.
No such thing as Bluetooth that would sound as good as your Shures, waste of time trying
At $400, I don't expect to have to choose between volume control or voice assistant. This should be on deck out of the box.
