Best review of these I have heard. Owning a pair I agree the sound is excellent. However, the call quality is still not acceptable. Earbuds are meant for mobility in my opinion, so earbuds at this price level should be premium across the feature list. So, while I am holding onto them, I am a little disappointed. Am I expecting too much?
Thank you very much! I think to answer your question: have you experienced earbuds with acceptable call quality to you? I only ask because you might indeed be expecting too much. All earbuds suffer to some extent in certain environments. None is perfect for phone calls. Now that being said, these don't rank at the top for calls, but they're a lot better than most. I still think these are 'good' for calls, even if not 'great'. There are few earbuds offering a better all round package. Don't forget that all earbuds have compromises, and these actually have relatively very few. That's what i'd say about these as a pair of earbuds in general. Still, you might want to make calls a higher priority for your use case and therefore avoid these. Lots of people choose earbuds specifically for particular factors. You might have discovered that calls are more important to you than the sound and are seeking a better alternative!
@@insidetechltd I just think that when you are charging top dollar you have to hit all the marks. Earbuds themselves are compromises. No audiophile I would imagine chooses earbuds for the best listening experience.
But if no one else is hitting all the marks...you can charge this much, can't you? I agree with you in principle, but as I said there are no earbuds that don't have some sort of weakness
@@insidetechltd Actually Apple, Bose and Sony have great offerings for $100-$150 less. B&W should be pushed to get it right. As I mentioned the sound is excellent. The call experience could be a lot better in my view.
@@insidetechltd- I remember you ranked the 1more Evo buds one of the best in mic performance. If 1More can do such a good job at that price level, why can't companies like B&W who have been in the audio speakers industry for so long cannot get this right, especially charging a premium price when 1More a relatively new company compared to B&W can get their mic performance better than B&W? By the way, for me, these Pi8 buds resemble somewhat like the 1More Evo buds.
Thanks a lot for this informative and entertaining review. I wish these buds didn't have the full spelling branding on them. For me that makes them a bit tacky. I wish this company would have branded their buds and headphones like their speakers - just B&W. Having Bowers & Wilkins plastered on them is a major turn off for me. B&O has done it right. Just B&O, so much more tastefully done. Speaking of B&O, do you think you'll review their new H100 headphones?
TWS earbuds, it's for the convenience they bring, especially on the go, and not for the so-called "extraordinary" quality of sound 🔊 they could have that they are interesting. If sound quality was really the most important thing on tws, Airpods wouldn't sell as well as they sell, brands like Moondrop and Soundpeats would sell much, much more earbuds, and for sound quality, there are hundreds of wired headphones at $50 that are better than these $400 Pi8s 🤷🏽♂️ Tws just need to have a good enough sound 🔊 (which 99% of tws have today), good ANC (these B&W Pi8s are not really the best in the field), and good microphone in phone calls in noisy environments (a lot of earbuds at $50-$100 do better than these Pi8s), this thing is a product for snubs, it's a scam 🤧 🚶🏽♂️ 🚶🏽♂️ 🚶🏽♂️
