One of the things that pisses me off most about the echoes is that early in Ultimate's life they found that Peach and Daisy did have differences between each other through their Turnips and Nintendo PATCHED IT OUT. Like what the fuck?
They patched Diasy knockback scaling?I don't even play the character and I know that's messed.
Their idle-animations are a bit different making it a bit harder for some moves to hit daisy...

I honestly would've been happier if the computers weren't patched. Kazuya is not that difficult guys. I even destroyed him with my Little Mac. And I'm trash as Little Mac.
He should make a new one since balance adjustments and DLC are done.
He commented on another reaction video (Marss, I think) and apparently he’s making a Part 3, it’s just taking some time
DLC fighters are super broken some of the damage they can do whit one opening is insane
He should not make a new one. Have someone new and more motivated to work on the game make it. I’m tired of reading Sakurai’s complaints on being forced to make the game.

Back in 1.0 Ultimate, King Dedede's F-smash used to hit shields TWICE. This meant a singlular, uncharged fsmash could instantly destroy your shield with no effort. They shadow nerfed this though without ever mentioning it.
One of the few achievements I'm proud of is unlocking all the characters before they got patched.
Alternative (and more accurate) title: Smash Ultimate *was* broken
A lot of stuff in the “Ultimate is broken” videos got pretty outdated

Well, ultimate is broken. The videos have outdated things but now there's just new Broken stuff. Consider how no dlc characters at all appeared in these videos

@@kestrel7493 Define broken. There are some pretty excellent moves still in the game but none of them feel broken to me. Luigi combos are hard, Peach combos are hard, Icies combos are hard, all the infinites that don't require TAS have been removed, insane kill moves like Rob and Roy side B are fine since anyone can edgeguard Roy, and anyone can make a combo video with Rob as the victim. Ultimate is not broken.

I remember actually when the game first came out my mom got me a pro strategy guide with all the frame data and Info for version one. it's always weird seeing old source info for a game that gets patched be completely different
I think the term echoes was added so people would stop complaining about "clones"

Last time i heard loud noises about that was back then in sm4sh each time a reveal was shown.
Dark samus is more than just a dark version of her she is the metroid prime with a phazon suit, she has powered up variant of the power beam with phazon that also works as a scattergun a phazon shield an explosive boost and never uses the morph ball.
She was added for a quick fanservice just like daisy.
You can really tell which franchises Sakurai likes and doesn't like.
Zelda hasnt had a new character since Melee, with half its roster being clones. Donkey Kong gets a new character every two games. None of the Metroid characters feel particularly faithful either, Samus has a super uninspired moveset and Dark Samus is a clone for no reason; the assist trophy in 4 had a better moveset! DK and Metroid only got new characters in Ultimate because fan demand was suuuper high. Kirby largely has only content from the games Sakurai made.
Contrast this to Fire Emblem. 2 of smash 4's 7 DLC fighters were FE, on top of 2 FE newcomers in the base game. One of them was from a game that wasn't even out yet, Corrin was a completely new name to the west! Chrom wasn't added because he'd be too similar to Marth, but then he adds Lucina anyway which is why we're in this echo mess to begin with; and then he adds Chrom in the next game anyway. And then we get *another* DLC character.

So, there weren't any that would outright crash the game, but there WAS one that could stop the game. Shadow the Hedgehog. Normally, when Shadow spawns he slows down time for everyone but the one who freed him. However, if Shadow is stacked enough times, he will completely *STOP* time. The user will not be stopped and will continue to spawn Shadow's indefinitely, until the game itself stops, presumably because of an error.
Inkling roller is it’s ONLY kill option lol
I actually loved it when unlocking CPU’s were extra hard.
Not only it was funny, but it felt like I had to earn the right to play as them.
Times it was like Sakurai said “This is secretly Lv. Dark Souls”
it made even more special if you knew top players got beaten by a character you have unlocked.

Yeah I think he just graduated from college actually. Hopefully he’ll make some more videos. He’s done one for every smash game but maybe he can do a final ultimate one since there’s no more patches
@@andrewallstar2719 Covering 3 years worth of patches though will be tough. He would need to probably make a 2020 and 2021 addition, something like that.

Daisy had smash 4s turnip mechanics. They just patched it out
I don’t know why people wanted Chrom’s up b to be nerfed, but don’t mind Ike’s up b, being the same. And with Ike’s nair, he can just do a suicide kill with nair into up b, and if you don’t airdodge or counter it fast enough, you Die. And Ike dies second everytime.
Really wasn't though chroms up b would kill first and chrom can carry you from mid stage to the edge while ike's is strictly at ledge

I kind of see Ice Climbers in a similar way to Sheik or Meta Knight. The character can do a lot of crazy things if you put in the time and practice but why bother when you can play 30 other characters that don't take nearly as much consistency and get similar results.

I think the reason they didn't do patch notes for the first one was because it was like near day one and the changes that the community found were like slight animation changes I think they were planning to do patch notes either way
Luigi zero to death may not have been removed, but it got nerfed so that it's way more difficult to pull off

Ah yes, back in the day when we thought K Rool and the Belmonts were OP. Almost nothing has changed about them, heck they've been buffed since then, and everyone thinks they suck now.
Yeah K Rool has received an incredible amount of buffs (3rd most buffed after Rosa and Mewtwo) and he's still like mid tier at best.
Idk if yall remember but burying used to be way stronger they nerfed all burying moves really fast
Actually, they made it even worse in a way, as trying to mash out at 120+ required what I call “damage risk” levels of mashing.
In addition to ink increasing damage, it's why Inkling was so much of a menace on launch. You get buried with the roller and that's a free kill

I love how we used to hate K Rools belly armor.
Now we have Kazuya. And all his super armor/invincibility/disjoint jank is the absolute worse in the game, especially in certain matchups.
I honestly don't understand what the developers thought here.
The armor I can understand, but all the invincibilities on top of it is overkill.
Plus he has a move that pushes your out of shield. What?
Which doesn't matter because he can also just break it.

8:48 I agree. I knew that the infinite Assist Trophy glitch was getting patched so I made sure to try all of them possible with my friend. Also I only know of one item glitch that still exists and hasn't been removed. It's a glitch related to Pyra & Mythra Ditto and Vulpix.
It's funny looking back on some of this first one in particular because some of the stuff ended up being super off base because the game was still so new lol.

If I recall right the only difference people could find between Peach and Daisy in the early days was something about their Turnips that made each of theirs better in certain scenarios something with knockback angles if I remember right, but shortly after this was found out it was changed and afterwards if I recall Peach's were just outright better in almost every way which was sad cause I liked Daisy's Aesthetic better myself.

When Kazuya first came out, I could not beat him with any of my mains. I mirror matched him and beat him first try. Granted I was a little bit spammy with his laser for one of the kills, but still I don't know how I beat him with a character I had never used before.
@@nyquillusdillwad9119 Perhaps you're talented with Kazuya, or maybe the CPU just didn't adapt well. CPUs have trouble with some things humans would deal with fine, so they'll occasionally fall prey to opponents far below their level.
Fun Fact: Tested multiple times. If two heroes have bounce, and one uses fully charged up-b, it will do instant 300+ damage and kill automatically
As far as I know, inkling's ink damage was never nerfed or changed
And inkling is still unfortunately garbage

My friends hate when I pick Ice Climbers, because I literally mash the controller to get them to de-sync and it just works. One time, I got Popo to charge forward smash on the stage while Nana charged forward smash on the platform, making a nice little trap, and it was completely unintentional.
When my friend plays incineroar I bait him into using his counter and right as he uses a smash attack, thinking he has the upper hand I counter his smash attack with sora, instakilling him lol
If only they had a level 10 CPU with the pre-patch level 9 CPUs
Yeah the link up B was popular early on for mii swirdfighter but due to its kind of shorty recovery most miis switched to the octoslash recovery that is more versitial and while worse for killing with gale strike could better account for escape options or just have you combo into up air since that’s also pretty good

First month of release I try to fight lvl 9 Diddy and it was exactly like fighting a Diddy main
K Rool Down throw actually is an infinate if your used to your opponents mashing, just d-throw, jab (depends on character size while grounded), regrab into pummel 4 times, specifically 4+, D throw and repeat, then just D-smash since that got buffed.
I usually do this when my opponent is at 60+ at center stage.
I missed launch version Lvl 9 CPUs. It was like a baptism through fire to condition me to play SSBU.
IMHO witrh your skill with floaties and Puff Peach/Daisy might be incredible for your roster I 1000000% agree

If I’m not mistaken, the only difference between Peach and Daisy are their hurtboxes. Peach is taller and slimmer while Daisy is shorter and fatter.
has anyone noticed that in the counter recoveries when lucina was fighting the green dk, she phazed through the ledge?

So your telling me that a game from 2018 has a item glitch that spawns over 30+ Rathelos's and won't make the game crash but a N64 game from 2001 can make the Switch crash whenever you get a game over in battle and can possibly erase your save data

I remember struggling to unlock characters when the AI was too good haha
I didn't struggle at all, all I lost in a row to a computer was only like 2 or 3 times. I helped a friend get all her characters in Smash Ultimate quickly and she introduced me to a small smash ultimate local where I done surprisingly well, I even gotten first a few times.
As a Ken main, as good as his combos are, they are hella hard to pull off.
as a non-ken player but not shit at the game player, they're not as hard as most 0-deaths, they just need a bit of time practicing
They should add difficulty levels to the A.I like 1-20, 20 being melee pros
Gumball & MrDanish ButterCookie have some insane Ice Climbers combos...

I unlocked every character in the game before npcs got nerfed. I was so disappointed they made that decision. I really enjoyed the challenge lvl 9s posed.
Were Level 9 CPU's in general nerfed because if so that kind of makes me mad they should have done it smarter.

Ivysaurs d-air was the biggest d-air until pyra pulled up…
Changed the computers from playing like real people to now just reading inputs and picking the faster option at high levels. While it's nice to practice getting reads and true combos, it's incredibly fucking annoying when computers always perfect airdodge an attack that will hit them, but don't airdodge an attack that won't hit them or when you do an empty jump. They're more tilting than challenging now IMO. Bring back the old computers.
Peach was the first character i picked up in ultimate. I wasn't aware that she was so good

Daisy has a *SLIGHTLY* different hitbox due to having a different idle animation. But, the difference is so *MINISCULE* it might as well not exist.

No one's gonna mention how originally Daisy had Peaches Smash 4 Turnips? But got patched to match Ult Peach? Nice
One of the issues with balancing everyone is that they all feel a little less unique. Sometimes being broken gives a character, well, _character._ Like how oddjob in goldeneye had his sheisty ass height advantage but picking him meant drawing the ire of your friends.
Clearly the solution is to give everyone one busted mechanic.
It’s a result of how streamlined the design has become since Smash 4. It works, but does take a lot of personality out of individual characters.
Rivals of Aether is an interesting alternative; all the characters in that game are super unique, but are also very balanced across the roster. Characters are also generally at a higher power level than in Smash Ultimate. Maybe give that game a shot?
