I’m personally not a fan of the triangle headlights of the 2019. I like that the 2018 has a more luxurious looking front even though it’s an economical car.
2018 looks better. It's balanced and complete. 2019 looks like an unfinished prototype. Maybe they're trying too hard to grab customers who might be interested in a Civic.

Cup holders aren't changed, same as before. Only limited has them in arm rest. So glad I have a 17. New one while not ugly, is not as good looking. I don't care for the interior changes either. Have checked it out at dealer..my car has been flawless. 42.000 miles now.

Thanks for making this comparison video. Like many have already stated, I think the redesign is a huge step backwards. You emphasized the sharp lines, but they clash with the rest of the car's curves, especially when looking at the roundness of the side profile. I have an Elantra Sport, which I think is one of the best looking Hyundai products ever and in many ways, it makes me think of a baby Audi S3. In fact, the styling is partly why I chose it over the Civic Si. It just makes the disappointment of this redesign even stronger. Comparing this with the other Korean compact, the new Kia Forte, the Forte looks infinitely better.
I see many going after 2019 look , I dint like it either. I bought 2019 luxary model last week reluctantly and I don regret it. In person 2019 does look neat on iron grey and love it. Take a test drive or see the car first its completely different perspective.

@@secordman That's the model I got. 0% financing and some other rebates I saved close to $5000. I found a rare dealer demo that was a never driven car so still brand new but that was an additional $500 off. The only catch is that the warranty starts back when the dealership bought the car, in my case in May. But they offered me the 6year 120'000k platinum warranty for $800 off so I took that since it was the top tier warranty that covers hundreds more items like infotainment replacement and even alternator and battery replacement which isn't covered under the normal 5 year warranty.
The 2018's front end looks so much nicer than the 2019. They definitely went backwards on this remodel. Also the checkboard interior gauges look odd as well on the 2019.
Basic comparison is okay. Rear cup holders on some 2018 are found in the center console as well, but not on limited models. Comparing a limited 2018 to a 2019 base model is not a good way to compared different model years.
I wish they kept the 2018 fog lights! they look better but I have the 2019 SEL and I love it. I get compliments on it a lot. A good detail they put on the 2019 was the Elantra writing on the back.

I am so impressed with the Elantra. I test drove a 2018 Sonota Sport + and I am confused with the technology differences in each car. The dealership rep said that the 2018 Sonota were outfitted with the PLUS technology. I was very impressed. I felt the Sonota was like a SPACESHIP when driving it compared to my 2010 Sonota that is being traded in and ill pay the rest in cash. AFTER learning the bucket seats can push you up and learning about all the cool technology features I was really excited. I was about to buy this car UNTIL I saw the 2019 Elantra. WOW. I was really impressed. So I started looking at this model and the different types of trim. I also looked at the other models like Kona and Veloster. MY OBSERVATION is that all the Hyundai's are equipped with the same technology package. CORRECT YES or NO? The Elantra comes in different trim packages and I assume that means the different outside and interior features. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS DOES THE ELANTRA MODELS 2018 or 2019 all come with the same technology inside, like the 2018 Sonota sport? Lane changing, rear camera, front obstruction deterrence, the mirror had links similar to ONSTAR, Do they all have the same TECHNOLOGY features inside? Im looking at the LIMITED and like the Sonota it had push start and remote start from a phone, do they have this? The technology features are important to me and I want what I saw in the Sonota Sport 18 to be in the Elantra. The Elantra is incredibly nice. WHAT IS THE NEXT PACKAGE down from the LIMITED and what is missing? I cant get the facts straight. The trim versions have me all confused and seems like they are not consistent such as the types of seating etc or rims. Tyler Struve It won’t be standard equipment, however the new Elantra can have those features. For example, the preferred sun and safety has blind spot detection, and lane keep assist. Take a look at the Elantra Limited. Are you located in Ontario?

No, cant stand that cheap look of the slapped on back up camera, piano black license plate area and unusual tail lights that don't light up well. Much prefer the 2018 as is.
"Aggressive" isn't a positive necessarily. Conservative is good and 2019 messes with a sensible look inside and out. The back seat in the 2018 was good, now it seems cheaper with the cupholders. In the end what matters is if it's a good economical car with decent value for the price.

I have a Hyundai Elantra 2018. I think the front part looks better than Elantra’s 2019. The other external parts of two models, there’s no so different... except the rear, but the new Elantra 2019 is not a totally revolution of changes... The only thing, on new Hyundai Elantra 2019 wins and looks better, is the internal part of the vehicle. New design is better. Also, I think is so important to say that new Hyundai Elantra 2019, isn’t same design revolution than it was Elantra’s 2018.

The 2018 GL Auto deals were really good. If I needed a car in a hurry late in 2018 I would have jumped all over it.

that is Canadian specs speedometer hence it is 240 km/h which is equal to around 150 mph
