- Jan Lisiecki, 17-yeard old Calgary-born pianist in conversation with David Perlman, late March 2012 just prior to the North America release of his first recording with Deutsche Grammophon
Jan wrote a short single-movement piano trio when he was still in the 6th grade. When I saw the video and heard the music, I realized at in this life. I'm not worthy to tie his shoes. But stardom has changed him. I hope to live long enough to see him composing again. I met him in 2012 and confronted him with this, and he was unable to give me an answer.

I met him this year and talked to him about learning piano playing and composing. He said composing is even harder. I believed in his genuineness on which his music is based on. Star thing is never about him, though he is a star really.
We get here the 16yr old Jan Lisiecki laying down pretty heavily his nerdy shtick, by "learnedly" holding forth about Mozart's compositional practices. The whole thing gets a bit creepy in heavy doses but about 2-3 mins of it some might find eerily refreshing.

Boy, you're all over his videos shooting him down. What is your problem exactly? Why don't you find something to inspire yourself and focus in that?
he will make a good own music in future but playing other musician music will inspiration to get idea
