Kevin Choi what a shame people like you don't understand DCEU superman and can't accept the fact there are hundreds of different takes on the character
JaredNeuer No it's a Shame that DC fans intelligence is insulted when DCEU fans claim that nobody "understands" the dceu counterparts of the characters. Meanwhile, us DC fans have been reading and appreciating superman years before anyone at the dceu could name a superman villain... You "you just don't understand" people are the same people defending Batman killing in BvS...
itszaaaamzeh , wow you really don't *understand* do you, I have read a ton of comics since I was little and I love BvS 🙂 batman killing is understandable and it's written on purpose and it's explained, if you don't like it that sounds like a personal problem rather than a critique of the film.
Phoenix Person that's not a critique of the film that's a critique of a character adaptation. I can critique the film left and right for days but that's not the point of my comic. YOU proved my point with that stupid "you really don't understand" statement. Fyi: saying "it's written on purpose" is a redundant statement as I'm sure Everyone here has already seen the movie. It's as if you just said "You don't understand, Bruce Wayne IS Batman." See how stupid that sounds?
itszaaaamzeh ............ ok so your *personal opinion* is that you don't like this superman or batman adaptation. Hmmm... yup, you can't critique the film without bringing your personal bias on what the characters should be. It's literally explained and shown in the movie as to why they act the way they act jeezz.
THE JG SHOW DOTF/Endgame is one of the best comics ever written. Scott Snyder is an absolute boss. That was probably thee best Batman run of all time. Paul Dini is still the best Superman writer of all but I think Snyder has surpassed on him on The Batman.
Late reply I know lol but let's also not forget Crisis on Infinite Earth's and Infinite Crisis. Endgame was amazing, Dark Night Metal is another fantastic read.
1: Crisis on Infinite Earths (Anti-Monitor arrives to destroy the multiverse) 2: Knightfall (Bane breaks Batman’s back in a brutal battle) 3: Flashpoint Paradox (Barry Allen time travels and created his own time line) 4: Dark Knights Metal (Readers are introduced to Batmen from across the multiverse) 5: The Dark Knight Returns (A retired Batman is broken and unmotivated to fight) 6: Death of Superman (Doomsday threatens the world and kills Superman) 7: Green Lantern Star Trek (A crossover between my favorite series) 8: Judas Contract (A mole in the Teen Titans gives info to Deathstroke) 9: Batman: Killing Joke (Fans learn Joker’s origin; Joker injures Barbra) 10: Tower of Babel (Ra’s Al Ghul beats the Justice League with Batman’s plans)
@@second1814 just because the original comics were called Under The Hood, doesn't mean he doesn't like the story... That's just being a douche for no reason. The original comics storyline was called Under The Hood, then they made the animated movie and called it Under The Red Hood, and then when the comics were put into a graphic novel, they did label that novel as Under The Red Hood. So he's not wrong just because he didn't know the old original name, and used the name that most people call it.
I knew it wouldn't be here but I was hoping for "The Darkness Saga" to be here. For Top 10 crossovers, "No Man's Land" has to be on there. I like how Arris mentions all the DC movies based on the stories except for "The Killing Joke."

Levitz/Giffen LSH: Great Darkness Saga 8. Batman Year One 9. Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams: Green Lantern/Green Arrow run 10. The Longbow Hunters 11. All-Star Superman 12. Gotham By Gaslight 13. One book that I think is constantly overlooked, but incredibly deep is the Elseworlds title "Batman: Holy Terror". The art is just mid-90's "meh", but the writing and concepts are superb. Definitely worthy of a sequel.
If anyone hasn't read Mark Waid's JLA - Tower of Babel, I encourage you to download it or get the collected edition immediately. The way it examines the personal dynamics of Justice League members is incredible. And the last few pages of the story are gut-wrenching.
@@richh6001 - Yes. The story is iconic. It is one of the few Justice League stories that reveals who these characters are in relation to each other. Most JLA stories focus solely on the team's impact on the rest of the galaxy.
I agree with this list but there are some really Underrated Comics in DC 1. Wonder Woman The Circle 2. Shazam Geoff Johns (Amazing) 3. Batman Earth One Vol 2 4. Superman Birth Right 5. Batman year 1 (surprised this didn't make the list) 6. Superman Earth One 7. Wonder Woman Eyes Of The Gorgan 8. Wonder Woman heikeita 9. Superman Scarifice And there are many more that never make these lists, that are really mature adult takes on these characters from the 90s
My Top 10 list: 1. Watchmen 2. Batman The Killing Joke 3. Batman Hush 4. Green Lantern Sinestro Corps War 5. Teen Titans The Judas Contract 6. Batman The Dark Knight Returns 7. All Star Superman 8. JLA Tower of Babel 9. Kingdom Come 10. Superman Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow Notable Mention: A) Superman Red Son B) Green Arrow The Longbow Hunters C) Identity Crisis D) The New Frontier
sure, you're one of those who think Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns are classics, aren't ya?😂😂 in reality, those two are shit, and this is coming from a batfan, especially The Killing Joke, overrated and with an overrated and overused villain
BibbyBoxx2219 1). TDKR is the only reason batfans believe that Bats can defeat Supes and it is also one of the reasons why supes is considered less ethical and self righteous than Batman 2). The Killing Joke is half baked shit, simple, just coz it involves Joker's origin doesn't mean it has content, it lacks content, it's not epic, it's not complex either, forced complexity is another thing....why not put "A serious house on a serious earth" in the place of it....plus Joker has become an overrated and overused villain lately, with no new development (I don't count "three active jokers" as a development, DC is so busy with Doomsday clock right now that the three jokers storyline will run out of it's own hype
Flashpoint definitely deserves a place in the list. Litterally the most compelling story in the DC universe along with creating the biggest reboots ever.
I dug the hell out of Snyder's batman, but superhevy and bloom were weird as hell. Gordon being batman in a mech suit is fine, just the villians he fought were so odd it distracted me, and gordon's haircut without his mustache he looked like the same age as bruce.

One day every one of these stories will have movies.
I would piss myself if Tower of Babel was announced as a movie.
I'd do the same with Flash Rebirth
Josh Ruth that won't for a long time
Runner High
It sorta has.
Justice league doom took the same concpet.
Its a great movie
@@Spiderpichi2099 actually with the right adaptation Flash: Rebirth would be the perfect story to use in a Flash solo movie.
My favorite COMIC is Batman : Death Of The Family.
THE JG SHOW DOTF/Endgame is one of the best comics ever written. Scott Snyder is an absolute boss. That was probably thee best Batman run of all time. Paul Dini is still the best Superman writer of all but I think Snyder has surpassed on him on The Batman.
JG tbh I think that is a rlly great joker story and I can’t argue with u, I think it’s my favourite joker story I think.
Daz Davis I’d say Geoff Johns and Peter J Tomasi r better superman writers but Snyder is the best batman writer
Late reply I know lol but let's also not forget Crisis on Infinite Earth's and Infinite Crisis. Endgame was amazing, Dark Night Metal is another fantastic read.
*Bruce Wayne is Batman*
BRUCE WAYNE IS A WAYNE
"You're a living computer and you're the smartest man in the world. You're telling me you can't put four little words online?"
WTF BRO SPOILERS
No he's not. I'm.guessing it's alfred
No I am batman
1: Crisis on Infinite Earths (Anti-Monitor arrives to destroy the multiverse)
2: Knightfall (Bane breaks Batman’s back in a brutal battle)
3: Flashpoint Paradox (Barry Allen time travels and created his own time line)
4: Dark Knights Metal (Readers are introduced to Batmen from across the multiverse)
5: The Dark Knight Returns (A retired Batman is broken and unmotivated to fight)
6: Death of Superman (Doomsday threatens the world and kills Superman)
7: Green Lantern Star Trek (A crossover between my favorite series)
8: Judas Contract (A mole in the Teen Titans gives info to Deathstroke)
9: Batman: Killing Joke (Fans learn Joker’s origin; Joker injures Barbra)
10: Tower of Babel (Ra’s Al Ghul beats the Justice League with Batman’s plans)
Kingdom Come is my ABSOLUTE favorite DC story. Its up there with DC Universe Rebirth one-shot on how meta it really is.
Green Lantern / Green Arrow anyone?
Only reason it's not on here is because it is a team up
James Hust But it is a single run. If every hero wouldn’t be able to overlap at all, DKR wouldn’t be allowed here either.
Yes!
Under The Red Hood is number one for me hahaha still love your list tho!
SB TMS it's under the hood, shows how much you like it
@@richurro20 soy much?
Second my tp of it says under the red hood
@@second1814 just because the original comics were called Under The Hood, doesn't mean he doesn't like the story... That's just being a douche for no reason. The original comics storyline was called Under The Hood, then they made the animated movie and called it Under The Red Hood, and then when the comics were put into a graphic novel, they did label that novel as Under The Red Hood. So he's not wrong just because he didn't know the old original name, and used the name that most people call it.
Killing Joke is my #1, it’s what got me into comics as a kid and remains my favorite
Kingdom Come :1
All star Superman :2
Long Halloween :3
I'm really glad you gave credit to the artists as well as the writers.:)
I knew it wouldn't be here but I was hoping for "The Darkness Saga" to be here. For Top 10 crossovers, "No Man's Land" has to be on there. I like how Arris mentions all the DC movies based on the stories except for "The Killing Joke."
“The Sinestro Corps War is batter than All-Star Superman”
Me: -spits out tea-
Solid list. My Top 25 DC stories would be:
1. Watchmen
2. Dark Knight Returns
3. Kingdom Come
4. New Frontier
5. Crisis on Infinite Earths
6. Alan Moore's Swamp Thing
7. Levitz/Giffen LSH: Great Darkness Saga
8. Batman Year One
9. Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams: Green Lantern/Green Arrow run
10. The Longbow Hunters
11. All-Star Superman
12. Gotham By Gaslight
13. Green Lantern: Will World
14. LSH: Adventure Comics run
15. Batman/Mad Monk and Batman/Monster Men by Matt Wagner
16. Batman/Grendel by Matt Wagner
17. The Killing Joke
18. George Perez Wonder Woman
19. Azzarello/Chiang Wonder Woman
20. Long Halloween
21. Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow and For the Man Who Has Everything by Alan Moore
22. Sandman by Neil Gaiman
23. Sandman Mystery Theater by Matt Wagner
24. Hawkworld and Legend of the Hawkmen
25. Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader by Gaiman
I need to start reading these comics they sound amazing
One book that I think is constantly overlooked, but incredibly deep is the Elseworlds title "Batman: Holy Terror". The art is just mid-90's "meh", but the writing and concepts are superb. Definitely worthy of a sequel.
If anyone hasn't read Mark Waid's JLA - Tower of Babel, I encourage you to download it or get the collected edition immediately. The way it examines the personal dynamics of Justice League members is incredible. And the last few pages of the story are gut-wrenching.
I've come so close to buying it several times but the art always puts me off. Should I trudge through anyway?
@@richh6001 - Yes. The story is iconic. It is one of the few Justice League stories that reveals who these characters are in relation to each other. Most JLA stories focus solely on the team's impact on the rest of the galaxy.
I can dig it, many of these stories were written well enough and had enough of an impact to be made into animated movies.
I agree with this list but there are some really Underrated Comics in DC
1. Wonder Woman The Circle
2. Shazam Geoff Johns (Amazing)
3. Batman Earth One Vol 2
4. Superman Birth Right
5. Batman year 1 (surprised this didn't make the list)
6. Superman Earth One
7. Wonder Woman Eyes Of The Gorgan
8. Wonder Woman heikeita
9. Superman Scarifice
And there are many more that never make these lists, that are really mature adult takes on these characters from the 90s
My Top 10 list:
1. Watchmen
2. Batman The Killing Joke
3. Batman Hush
4. Green Lantern Sinestro Corps War
5. Teen Titans The Judas Contract
6. Batman The Dark Knight Returns
7. All Star Superman
8. JLA Tower of Babel
9. Kingdom Come
10. Superman Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow
Notable Mention:
A) Superman Red Son
B) Green Arrow The Longbow Hunters
C) Identity Crisis
D) The New Frontier
"The Top 10 Superman/Wonder Woman Moments".
My favorite comic story is possibly "Watchmen & Kingdom Come".
green lantern: Darkest night
Batman: Hush
JL: Darkseid War
Watchmen
- Top 4
sure, you're one of those who think Killing Joke and The Dark Knight Returns are classics, aren't ya?😂😂
in reality, those two are shit, and this is coming from a batfan, especially The Killing Joke, overrated and with an overrated and overused villain
Kingdom Come
Watchmen
All Star Superman
The Dark Knight Returns
How are TDKR and TKJ "shit"?
BibbyBoxx2219 1). TDKR is the only reason batfans believe that Bats can defeat Supes and it is also one of the reasons why supes is considered less ethical and self righteous than Batman
Rishabh Singh they could not see that superman was holding back during the entire fight
superman birthright
Theodore Brunette Secret Origin >>> Birthright
Flashpoint definitely deserves a place in the list. Litterally the most compelling story in the DC universe along with creating the biggest reboots ever.
"Ben Affleck's version of Batman going forward"
*Laughs in Future*
I can get behind most of this except I'd swap out the Tower of Babel and put the long Halloween first
Batman: The Court of Owls
Batman: City of Owls
Batman: Death of The Family
Dark Nights Metal
...Any story from Scott Snyder
Lalilulelo and Greg capullo batman looks amazing!
Finally an intellectual
I dug the hell out of Snyder's batman, but superhevy and bloom were weird as hell. Gordon being batman in a mech suit is fine, just the villians he fought were so odd it distracted me, and gordon's haircut without his mustache he looked like the same age as bruce.
marvel has some catching up to do in comics 😂😂😂
Not really
@@fluffyssj2693 yes really
@@artsy_slade how so?
@@fluffyssj2693 DC beats marvel in comics ,animations, series, the only thing that marvel beats DC is cinematic universe, DC still released tons of comics till now 'Read DCEASED', darkseid war, crisis, jl the sixth dimension ,tdkreturns, new 52 to name a few, the only good comics marvel has is X-men and wolverine
@@artsy_slade actually it's only really in animation and video games, have you even read the infinity gauntlet by Jim starlin or infinty by Hickman? Plus comics shouldn't be related to there publisher but to the writers and illustrators because if a person writes a good comic for marvel and then writes another good comic for dc witch is a worse comic? You cant say that the dc comic is worse just because its made by dc
My Top 10 Favorite DC Storyline
10. Flashpoint
9. Batman : Knightfall ( where his back was broken by Bane )
8. The 52
7. Huntress : Cry for Blood
6. JLA : Crisis on TWO EARTHS
5. JLA : Tower of Babel
4. Superman / Batman : Apocalypse
3. Green Lantern : Blackest Night
2. JLA : Rock of Ages
1. Crisis 0n Infinite Earths
Batman Hush is one best DC stories of all time .And The Dark Knight Returns is also awesome as well ,Even back in the day when it first came out | But cool as always Arris .
Personally I prefer “Heart of Hush”. It gave the character some much needed development that the original story for some reason didn’t bother with.
Hell yeah. Love DC and this was a solid list.

man I love all star superman story
best comic book story of all time
love superman
10.Flashpoint
9.Gotham By Gaslight
8.All Star Superman
7.Batman: War On Crime (the art alone is amazing)
6.Shazam!: The Power Of Hope
5.The Killing Joke
4.Jack Kirby's New Gods
3.Justice By Alex Ross
2.The Dark Knight Returns
1.Kingdom Come
Batman is the world's greatest superhero!
Absolute Genius I agree
Yep. I think even superman knows this. But whatever, people are entitled to their opinions.
That title goes to The Punisher. Batman is just a pussy compared to Frank
I couldn't agree more 😄
The punisher is dope. More effective, more dangerous, but not smarter. If they went toe to toe he would be played and fall fast. Though batman wouldn’t kill him so that gives frank an infinite number of tries... that, given his experience, would most likely end in bats death. Would be a cool cross over. Batman vs punisher
All Star Superman only #8 wtf .
Ricky Wilson I know, that's literally my absolute favorite comic ever
Ricky Wilson they aren't in Order they are just 10 Great Comic books
It's also an opinion. No need to take it so seriously or so personally.
Halloweenman33 right on bro. It's an opinion
Ricky Wilson i think red son is better
Watchmen should've been Number 1
Kingdom come should have been number 2 or 1.
It was sooooooo good
Ikr
That dollar shave club ad was impressive
I'm definitely on board and agree to Rebirth at number 3! One of my top favorite comic stories!
“With that said, let’s take a quick break” skiiiiiiiiiiip
KINGDOM COME.
No one comes close: Art. Message. Relevance.
It's my favourite comic
Great list, but honestly Legion of Super-Heroes "The Great Darkness Saga" should have been on this list.
Amen.
I was expecting flashpoint to be the first.. The story is genius and epic
10. Under the Red Hood
9. Evil Ring
8. Third Army
7. Killing Joke
6. Dark Knight Returns
5. Red Son
4. Brightest Day Blackest Night
3. Flashpoint
2. Injustice
1. Watchmen
Does DC rebirth #1 count even though it's only one issue? Eh, it's one of my favourites anyway, I love Scott Snyder's Batman run too even though that's a bunch of stories. Great list Arres, quite a few of my favs on there too.
Whoa
What about The New Frontier?!
And Countdown to Infinite Crisis?
And Sandman?!
Superman Red son is amazing!
I like that Flash story too bro but no way it outranks WATCHMEN, no way!!
I love the injustice gods among us story line all 5 years, it’s pretty underrated
Dc has the best comics
The best heroes
they are the most critically acclaimed graphic novels
The most Eisner awards
Batman has the same eisner awards as marvel comics. Disgusting
Icarius Negus YES MARVEL SUCKS!
DC - Best Comics
Marvel - Best movies
@@shataph19 really. U know no mcu movies will give an actor an acting award
@@icariusnegus6560 yeah, cus Justice League was really good, right?

Kingdom Come is My favourite!!!
I really thought you’re going to talk about Superman - The Man Of Tomorrow
10 teen titans when they were powerless against some of most ruthless villains
9 when batman constructed information on how to defeat every member of the justice league including himself and a villain got his hands on the info
8 All Star Superman: Clark only has a year left to live and how he goes about it
7 Yellow Lantern
6 Watchmen
5 Superman Red Son: great what if story
4 Kingdom Come: future dc universe where our heroes are old and the current ones are reckless
3 Flash Rebirth
2 Batman the Killing Joke
1 The Dark Knight Returns
Dc has some of the beat written comics of all time
DC has the best villian in Reverse Flash
You mispelled joker
Joker is pretty good at being a bad guy but RF just edges him out for the top spot and then it would probably be Darkseid they Ra's Deathstroke Sinestro Doomsday
SUPERMAN SOLOS DB
of course he is superman ,
Tablesidebeast Nah, he doesn't.
Tablesidebeast yeah he solos db, but not dbz
Superman can solo the top tier DBz characters and superman doesn't die
death acknowledged that after he punch death in the face
basically superman is Immortal and strong as he needs to be
no need to power up he comands himself if he wants to hold back or not
some of his fights In comics he is always holding back and some of his villains is mostly GODS that can destroy multiverse easily. Even batman admitted that thing that he is thankful because superman is in the good side
thats comics writers makes him op as they want anytime
do a dc vs marvel
"The Judas Contract" and "Watchmen" are two of my favorite DC stories.
KINGDOM COME is one of my favorite storylines ever!!!!
Legion of Superheroes: Great Darkness Saga
I love the more brutal Batman
Has anyone else noticed that most of the greatest comics are the ones where the villains almost win?

5.Death of The Family
6.Death In The Family
