Ever since they changed Polar I can't remember a match where LRMs have been the absolute unavoidable menace you say they are. Rarely you see them being the MVP of a match.

PGI should combine the Torso nodes into only two nodes for each.
2 nodes of 15% Torso speed
2 nodes of 7.5% Torso Yaw
2 nodes of 10% Torso Pitch
Also they should do the same with armor buffs giving more to lights and less to assaults but in reverse with Agility nodes.
More points to 100 tonners and less to 20 tonners. You can choose to invest in a pure tankiness build or a pure speed build and be worth the investment.

Seismic sensor is amazing, for the last two weeks I've been putting it on everything. Just because a mech is behind you doesn't mean they can see you, but you can see them and you can see levels above you and below.

Great video. My only problem with it is calling out some peoples play style. LRM boats do not need a lot of skill to play. I have one out of 50 mechs. Rarely use it. But just because someone enjoys playing them doesn't make them noobs, lol. I prefer to brawl myself and some like to hit and run. Each has a purpose in the game and balanced team with team work will own the field everytime.

Lol, I am glad you said that about LRMs. Totally agree... free points for players with no skills. Yeah, yeah, its 'fair' and 'part of the game' but it is still just mindlessly pushing a button to get free points. I have found though that Torso Pitch can help an assault when a light mech tried to leg lock you.

I would like to share my thoughts on the radar deprivation quirk.
In the old branch, it took 16 points for 100%, in the new one only 10. To take 60% - 7 in the new, 9 in the old. In order to take ECM nodes in the old one, you had to give 7 in the new one (!), 13 in the old one.
Yes, yes, yes, LRM is hell, but how often do you run into LRM boats lately? Without a full party? Just in random? In principle, I practically do not see LRMschikov. But what I see is lemings running around in circles playing a racing game, not a shooter. And a huge part of these "lemings" run with snubs. Down to the locus. This is fine? And this is often arranged by both teams, leaving their assault mechs to be eaten by the lights. And the LRMs can't help them because... Because they don't exist? It's strange, but LRMs can also cover allies. You can support your lights.
Well, more. Since there are no LRMs, then why AMS? 100% radar deprivation + ECM and no problems.
But okay. We run in circles.
It's just... It's an indirect nerf that seriously hit LRMs outside of the full party.
I don't know... I just don't see much LRM mechs now.

You actually get flamed and belittled if you get higher in the tiers. started in 3 and annoys the shit out of me. A game wit 1300 on vitric in a lrm boat. nobody cares (why should they). you are not dying first and they did so they can watch and start to flame you till the screen at the end pops up and you are the only one beyond 400 and last one to die desperatly brawling on short to mid even doing dmg there.
Thats why you dont see them besides you actually have to work for locks which is fine but drive speople away as well.

    • @knowahnosenothing4862
      @knowahnosenothing4862 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@MrRayWolf The one place they slip up is increasing time to kill. It increases the skill gap and reduces competition. It spreads the spectrum of players so wide it breaks match maker and match quality. (I'm not sure they have a choice given the amount of damage in the game now)
Also makes a lot of weapons obsolete. Pinpoint gets stronger the more armour is added to the game.
The game consists mainly of Lasers, Gauss, PPC and LRM's.

I am getting into the game after 2 yrs break - assaults feels weaker (I got wrecked on the fresh assault with 0 skill points). Snubnose Urbie is crazy strong (got max 1200 dmg, average 600-800dmg). Missiles still wrecking the day (I dont like LRMs). I was playing lights a lot (but I do not specialize into one cattegory) so now is fine for me :). The game has changed, lasers feels like the weakest option (viable are smaller variants), dakka is OK, gauss feels weaker than before and snubs are OP as fck. ECM is nearly a must for me now. Climbing up in new tier system, atm in the middle of T3 (after 10 days of casual gaming). Thank you for the guides and info, really helps :)

  • @AvenValkyr

people use skill tree codes?? wtf?? I've been rocking my own skill trees since the beginning. You just have to ask yourself what you need the mech for, and how hot your weapons are going to make you. If you're a missile boat, you will need lots of target requesition skills. If you're a fast beam boat, you will need speed, maybe jumps, a bunch of heat management, and armour/skeleton. If you're running a big bad assault, it's armour, heat management, movement stuff like torso rotation, acceleration, turning speed etc. It's simple really. Thanks for the vid tho!

  • @BrokenCurtain

One thing I noticed is people importing skill tree builds and not running the matching loadouts: for example using a skill tree build that has Coolshot Cooldown and Reserves, but only equipping a single Coolshot.

Playing LRM because now have access to very old pc which freezing at active fights and shoot something is very tricky.
Also LRM boat is not that amazing - ppl know how to hide, ecm everywhere, piranhas all around and each time you got on map like Solaris 7 you can go afk.

it was a long time since somebody started making these kind of technical videos to explain why to put certain weapons on certain mechs.
Most people play the game record and aploud it to yt and get good or bad results without any explanation why they used that weapon on that mech or end up on certain spot on some map.

Using 9 points for 3 consumable slots is such nonsense. It is better to develop heat capacity, this will make it possible to heat up longer, use alpha strikes on hot builds and hot maps. And it is better to develop mobility instead of core survivability, this will save a lot of armor and hp.
