Hola Andy, on 0:21 you can see traffic sing, reverse triangle, and under that you can see that thick line go from your left to your top, and you are on thin line. That mean that you don't have right to move, because they are on main road, you are on side road, and you have right to move when nobody ride on main line, or you have opportunity to start moving but not to interfere with traffic on your left. But no problem, we all make mistake sometimes.
P.S. I love your video because I learn much about Versys 650 from your video, about fixing and stuff like that.

This road is called Adriatic Highway and I drive from Slovenia to Rijeka, down the highway with my MX5 almost every weekend - with the top off, of course :)
We have a sea house on the island of Pag, but I don't use a ferry, because the drive is fantactic, so I go around and do it all in one strech of 410km.

So nice to revisit these roads with you . My two mates and I came down the same roads in Croatia last year and must agree they’re some of the best roads I’ve ever ridden. Not so technical but very flowing. It was hot at 34 Celsius and we actually had to remove the jackets and ride in our tshirts in fear of getting overheated and dehydrated. It wasn’t a very good idea as we finally got sunburnt arms from the short sleeves down lol. Plonkers :)
Haha! I learned my lesson when i got sunburned wrists in my way to Spain, after folding my jacket sleeves back for some ventilation! Amazing how quick we cook, when the wind stops you from hearing the sizzling noise! 😂

Don’t worry about the bus lanes. Motorbikes and taxis are free to use them by default. And when the traffic sign explicitly allows it, bicicles too

Yes, I did hope that you would love the coast road DC8...
We locals avoid that road in July-August because is full of camping vans that slow you down and it is too hot...but the tarmac is the best
a little U-turn in Senj is OK that is normal in tourist season...
next year frend and I are going to Nordkap so I am curious about cameras...
+Tomislav Štefanić No doubt that i would like it! That road is incredible! Luckily we had not too many campers and enough power to get past the ones we saw! I use Sony Action Cams. X1000's proved unreliable and battery hungry. AS200's have been faultless.

I see you have gimbal cam this year. I notice that SJCAM have a decent value gimbal now, I am sorely tempted. The coast in Croatia looks inviting. I must visit even if it’s not on a bike.
+OldManTony A very cheap one though. I was rather disappointed with the results. I haven't seen the SJCam one yet. Croatia i can only recommend. Even off of the bike, the coast is gorgeous.

You went to Lubljana to get down to Rijeka? That's a bit of a detour. The roads down in direction Triest would've even been nicer.
‚Thats a bit of a detour‘ said NO biker ever! Also Triest is on the complete other side of Rijeka to Lubljana! That would have been and even bigger detour! Which I would have been fine with, but sadly we had a time limit.

So I'm curious about the language situation when traveling in Croatia; Did the locals speak English or German, or did you pack a BabelFish?
Most of locals speak German and Italian.. in now days English is comon in younger population...
+Fjdy1jd1 We found that several times with property owners, German was more readily spoken than English. Luckily i have a little experience! As mentioned though, younger generations were very good with English.
This past summer I was cycling along the US36 Bike Path (which runs parallel to US36), and stopped at a rest stop which attracts a lot of motorists who take photos of of the view down onto Boulder. There was a group of 3 girls and 2 guys in a rental car, probably all around your age. One of the girls came up to me and started asking about the law regarding use of the express lane. Now bear in mind there was some traffic noise from the nearby highway, but I was surprised when she told me they were from Germany, because I didn't even detect any accent. Is it common for young Germans to speak English with an American accent?

+BurnSomeFuel We did almost exactly that. We just didn't have time to go 'backwards' up the coast to go into Rijeka. So we skipped around the edge of it.
Is that 2009 Versys 650? How did it behave on the trip? Did you feel like it lacks more power? And would it be okey for two up?
+Domagoj Razum Its actually a 2006, but same spec. It behaved flawlessly! It never felt underpowered, but then I don't expect it to perform like a racebike. A few times my folks on the VFR1200F pulled away from me without any problem! But in the tight twisty roads, they couldn't keep up. I'm afraid I've never tried two up, but I've heard from many who have that it is absolutely fine.
Thank you for such a quick answer :) I am currently busting my head because I can't decide if I should buy a 08' Versys or 06' FZ6S. I am actually very tall and big guy so I think V would be better for me. Also, glad to see you had a good time here in Croatia. I live 200 km from the road you were on and I must say I've been there multiple times, but with ER6n.
+Domagoj Razum Well then you kind of know the engine already. Versys is the same as the ER6 with different cams for more low and midrange torque. I think the FZ6 will need a LOT more revs to get it to perform. Especially 2 up. Versys will also have lots more space.

We would have LOVED to start at the top and ride the whole coast. Sadly we had no tie for that so we had to choose. The bit we DID do was still pretty bleeding fantastic!!

Hi Andy, loving the youtube so far, but i understand why people do it, but why are you hanging off every corner like its the GP race, yet the two up riders look way more stable. each to his own i suppose. but it is off putting seeing you hang off on the view Andy cam some what spoils it for me to be honest..
Because it makes me happy. I feel more comfortable when my weight is inside the turn and the tyres aren't on the edge of their limits. Sure the riders on the other bike are sitting straight, but for the same cornering speed, they're leaning over much more and the tyres are pretty much at the edge of the contact patch. You can ride like that if you prefer, but I don't like it. Ride your own ride, they say.
