The loaf is a good idea!! And if yall have spices you could also make the rest of the chickpeas into a chickpea curry to have over rice. Two different meals but same base ingredients! I usually blend the spices in with some chickpeas and juice to make the sauce for the rest of the chickpeas
One of my favorite ways to eat grits is adding nutritional yeast and homemade bac'n bits along with dried minced onion and garlic salt. Dried parsley is a good addition as well. I guess I know what's for dinner now. LOL
I just added grits to my shopping list! I haven’t had them in probably 20 years - I’m 35 😂 Thanks for the inspiration as always, love💕 I like your add more greens resolution 👌🏻 I always grate zucchini into my am oats then add banana and berries. It’s such a mild sweet flavor and nice texture. I know it’s not technically a green but it is green - and healthy haha Have a lovely weekend! Ps I hope your husband’s recovery is coming along well!
you will not be disappointed with the grit "fries" if you make them! and i think small "goals" like eat more veggies is way more realistic than "eat 10 veggie servings a day" ya know!?
The 99cent only store doesn’t have any locations up here in Idaho BUT I remember back when EVERYTHING was 99 cents or under in that store. I used to shop there every week, I loved it. They had so many cool vegan options.
You mentioned 211 and if a person can’t get to them, they may deliver. Also, if you live I. A good community like I do and follow your local fb groups for your area, someone may be able to give you a ride, go pick it up for you and a lot of people in my community share food. It’s worth a shot to checkout local FB groups; sometimes they are filled with generous people. A lot of people in mine also adopt a family for the holidays and provide meals and other supplies. Their really are good people out there.
I had big handful of greens to my oat smoothie plus some riced cauliflower. I add riced cauliflower to my cooked or overnight oats too. Just trying to sneak in extra veggies.
Happy Saturday morning Miranda. What a haul. I believe my favorite item is that bag of Quaker grits. There's nothing like old fashioned Southern grits to start the day.
Absolutely LOVE the new hair!!! It looks so healthy and shiny and gorgeous. Can’t wait til mine grows out to that length haha and I’m super excited to try the baked grits fries recipe and that bean loaf!!!
My husband grew up eating savory grits, I grew up eating sweet. We both love grits though. They are cheap, versatile, gluten free, easy on the stomach and don't cause inflammation fo rme.
they are so easy to digest and I agree SO versatile!! I didn't start eating them until a few years ago and its amazing how many things you can make with them even just as a base!
I have a friend in Vegas who has shops the 99¢ store often for her family of 4 and has gotten some great deals. The 99¢ store in Vegas she goes to rocks! It’s a great place to save money.
I've used cornmeal to make like grits. And made it sweet. And it tasted like Molt o meal. Those look really good. Been seeing people make Polenta fries. I need to try them.
Thank you for always posting smart ideas on food and cleaning! I'm saving this until I go shopping. Trying to use up all we have before then. I like grits, but I love cream of wheat. On the loaf, do you think pintos would be good or butter beans? I'm not a fan of lentils. I'd love if you had a recipe for veggie loaf, with corn and other veggies. I had something similar from the freezer section but can't find a good recipe.
@@flourishingmiranda just thinking of all the different seasonings you can add to come up with different flavors for the grit fries makes my mouth water🤤
Thank you for the inspo! We have drastically cut our grocery budget since I started watching your videos (thanks to Courtney from Common Tags!). I am dealing with gastro issues now that I’m trying to correct so idk if I can eat the grits even though they look amazing but I DO know your mashed potato French fries have been life changing!!!! I make them every week for cheap lunch. Your haircut looks gorgeous, and you long hair was gorgeous too! I’m trying to grow mine out but it takes so long! Happy Holidays 🎉🎉🎉
Tee hee😂 steam facial. Ive been subscribed for I think 3 years maybe longer? Back then I refused to get a smart phone so my son set one up in for me in his name. I love all your content but the old stuff is my fave. You are a really sweet person. I love your attitude your passion and your compassion. Thank you for being you & all the great videos youve shared! My favorite one is a funny spoof one with you a hubby!❤❤❤
Love your haircut! And when you pulled the parchment paper down away from your meatloaf my first thought was salmon loaf or tuna loaf. Looks really good!
Very nice of you to think how people can eat like this yo save money. So many hungry people in this world. Bedd as ma and rice are good for you too. I’m on the starch diet for life.
Oh man, our 99¢ store only had the worst food. Refrigerator section filled so full the fridge couldn’t close and cool properly. Rotten peppers and watermelon. I quit trying at our 99¢ store.
Bahaha cream of wheat 🤮😂 I love grits but I eat them with nooch and salt sometimes with a side of veg. I may need to try it with something sweet 🤔and grit fries 🤯what? I’ve pan fried polenta so why not with grits 😁 Your bean loaf looked good and would be perfect for lunch meal prep with a salad or non starchy veg‼️🙌
If you are someone in need of food, in the US you can call 211 and they will be such an amazing resource to you and your family!
That grits dish is a great idea! It’s getting my wheels a turn’n
Savory grits are very good. Butter &salt, or cheese and crumbled bacon. Yummy!
The loaf is a good idea!! And if yall have spices you could also make the rest of the chickpeas into a chickpea curry to have over rice. Two different meals but same base ingredients! I usually blend the spices in with some chickpeas and juice to make the sauce for the rest of the chickpeas
Love your hair cut in this video
Great ideas and love the new haircut!

Haven’t done much with grits but will have to try something like that! Thanks for the idea! I used to have cream of wheat as a child too!

I don’t like cauliflower in my smoothies or oats but I like zucchini! ❤️

Miranda that’s the one I go to when I’m in Henderson visiting with my daughter & grandkids 👍👍

Great meal plan!! I think your grocery list is spot on!!! Super well balanced!! 👏👏❤
Thank you Jane!!! I tried really hard to make it complete incase someone truly needed an emergency plan!

That was an amazing deal on the grits. More great recipes to try. Your hair looks beautiful.
the grit fries are sooo good and I had 5lbs of grits to use so I had them a lot this past week! :)

from mrs: awesome recipes! very economical! really nice haircut.
Glad you like them!
I'm ALWAYS jealous of people that have a 99 cent store near them. We don't have any in OK. :(
Thank you for the great ideas!! When cooking your chickpeas do you allow a natural release after the 32 mins or do you quick release them?
I quick release them, but only because mine is not an instant pot it’s a different brand!
Fun recipe ideas. Cute hair cut :)
Thank you! Cheers!
Do you take any vitamin supplements?
A little olive oil in a pan fried. Olive oil, good for the skin.
Sure if you enjoy it! Remember not everyone does 🥰
How was the Ripple protein drink?
it was actually SO GOOD! Sometimes the pre made shakes surprise me-- this would be one i could drink after a workout daily :)
Never explain! If people don’t get it by now, too bad, that’s on them lol
I have a hard time with that word sometimes too, but I think you are looking for congealed...
YES! Thank you!
Beans and rice
Oh man, our 99¢ store only had the worst food. Refrigerator section filled so full the fridge couldn’t close and cool properly. Rotten peppers and watermelon. I quit trying at our 99¢ store.
What do grits taste like? Might try. Love your hair.
they literally taste like nothing!
They are made out of hominy (aka corn) but to me they taste a little like rice, very plain.
Our $.99 store turned into $1.25 store. Dollar Tree. 😝
Have you ever put a bay leaf in with your beans while they cook?
i have not, because that is one flavor i am not a fan of!
I have never been a fan of grits (basically tasteless). But these look pretty good.
they are which is why you have to add a LOT of seasonings and if you make them savory its way easier to add different flavor profiles

It was so good! So were fries!!
I love cream of wheat, that's what my great grandma raised me on and we live in the south lol
I've never cooked grits before but I want to run to the store right now to get some! They look amazing 😋 and I love the new hair cut!!!
