Doug Wilding I’m pretty sure most of the burnout comes from constantly practicing the game. Though it might help a bit, I doubt skipping a few matches over the weekend would be entirely beneficial. It does kinda suck but I’ve seen how determined these pros are, and I hope that they can recover from the burnout quickly, doublelift especially :)
This video is a great window into the life and friendships of two great dudes. Maybe once a year you can convince doublelift or other pro players for laid back debriefs/longer convos like this! Keep it up
Just watching this as a conversation between two great friends makes it so much better. Makes you really look back at how far these two have come. Not just Doublelift, but Travis too. I hope the best for both of you, and I'm happy to watch you guys, and I hope you can feel happy with your accomplishments too. DL > qt > tyler1 > bang > any adc to every play the game
Not even a joke, this is the longest he's had to work hard. Honestly, he just needs to realize this and change his mindset to that of getting used to working this hard. He has a real possibilitt of making or even winning finals at worlds if they all work hard for a few more years. Then he can retire if he isn't hungry for more and get all the rest he can take, lol.
@@a7exro True in other entertainment branches people actually work way harder than Peter does and it's way more exhausting both physically and mentally. It cannot be an excuse.

I love DL so much as a player. Just the high standard he puts himself to is really refreshing and it’s great to see how he looks back on his own losses
When you see DL suffering burnout after one long run in an international tournament think about Faker, Bang and Wolf. They literally did this shit 3 years straight during 2015, 2016, and 2017 making every final in every international tournament. Just insane!
9:05 Doublelift vs Darshan and Aphromoo. Its ironic that Xmithie was the single vote against kicking out Doublelift and look where him and Double are now compared to the others ...
i quit baseball in 7th grade, but i still watch have still watched it for 9 years since. i hardly EVER play league anymore, but never miss a DL game, and hardly ever miss a NA or EU game.
I really like this longer format. I know Dubble is your friend and a fan favorite, so it's easier to get him on, but you should see if you can do this with some other pros too.
For me, I only occasionally visit League of Legends after keeping up with the competitive scene. I do it to check out the new stuff: champions, runes, items, etc. But more importantly, I do it because I get hyped from watching pro league of legends, particularly my favorite players like Doublelift. Their plays and personalities are inspiring and frequently motivate me to try my hand at the game again--to flip the coin on whether I'm going to walk away tilted and upset or victorious and addicted. The only thing holding me back from consistently playing League is solo queue where the games are polluted with toxic players. I hope that Riot Games and League of Legends continue to enable players like Doublelift to fulfill their passions, appeal to their fans, and compete their hearts out.
The biggest issue I saw from the finals was TL's limited champion pool. Comfort picks are fine, but they're not alway meta at the time of the tournament. It's time to try something new.
Best interview so far. Doublelift is one of the most mature professionals i've ever seen, in any sports or occupation. He's well aware of the world around and down to earth. Very refreshing! I wasn't even half as mature at that age.
Fantastic interview Travis...it feels almost surreal seeing this years and years after the original Chipotle w/ Doublelift vid Hopefully 7 years from now we can get another one of these, at which time hopefully NA and specifically Doublelift will have won worlds at least once
I really love these. its nice these long format discussions. thanks for this Travis and thanks Doublelift for taking time out of your schedule for this.
Just so you know doublelift, i have not played league for over 3years now but i still follow you. I watch all your games, if not the full vod atleast the highlights.
Doublelift is insane... I literally started this during clean up time at my job continued it on the drive home got home went to the bathroom and then he literally called exactly how I was listening for the last 45 min lmao
Great video guys, a few long forms here and there in the year would be really nice. The kind of content you can relax into and relate with when you've been following the scene for years and years.
I'm not saying Peter is complaining or anything but I feel like this is the type of mindset that keeps NA from being a championship region. I hate being that guy, but this is how it's always been.
Fan for life DL. Also one of the people that stopped playing League but watching cause of the DL. Thanks for this interview/talk Travis; definitely key to keeping League interesting with all your coverage of League personalities.
Doublelift's eloquence and articulation never ceases to amaze me. If I just randomly talked to him on the street, without knowing who he is, I would never have guessed he played video games all day for a living.
Actually very surprised about the way doublelift spoke in this interview. Way more laid back and also very smart in the way he looks at certain things nowadays.
12:40 - 13:15 Are we forgetting about C9 last year at worlds now? The meta has been changing to a very NA style of play, slowly but surely: just 5v5 deathmatch 80% of the time. Probably the reason tanks are creeping up now is because they want to either slow it down or give it that S3 S4 feel where games cant end because tanks are really tanky until 30 - 35 minutes. Worlds will be really interesting if these small tank buffs keep coming
Everyone discredits C9s run bc they got 3-0'd in semis but if that's the attitude then TL should also be discredited for being 3-0'd. TL had a single upset C9 had multiple upsets But no one cares since there's no trophy in the region. Feelsbad
I think one of the reasons why old pros still succeed and new blood doesn't in NA is because teamwork is so fundamental to the game and you just can't get any of that in solo queue. If Meteos walks into a new team, he's immediately got an advantage over a solo queue player regardless of mechanical skill because he knows how to function in a team setting.
The state of the game was what I really wanted to hear. As a Ad main play late game scaling not doing anything for 20 minutes is terrible but playing mid or early game carries are just great
"I think that most people who watched to this point are either taking a really long shit, or they're driving somewhere, or, like, they just have it in the background" Nope, I sat down and watched the entire thing! These conversations between Peter and Travis are always interesting, and your friendship makes it so much more fun to watch! Keep it up

I'm from EU and obviously hard rooting for my own teams or whatever. But hell... to hear how DoubleLift speaks and says his opinions about money and on what's the point of overspending to better keep it for worse days really made me like this guy and respect him so much more. Due to all the shittalking between LCS and LEC my first impression was that DL was a cocky prick but hell... now my opinion about him has made complete 180. I may still not root for TL since I still believe that org itself is kinda arrogant and heavily money driven (which it is), but DL as a person now I can say that I do respect and I wish him to succeed in his career.
I think teams should be allowed to have larger active rosters. Though, i don't think the infrastructure or highest tier playerbase is there to support that at like the top 4 of the LCS or LEC etc. I thought about this as a possible burnout or overworking solution since it'd allow more rotation of players like any other sports team having to compete so often and for so long without any down time. Instead though Riot just add in even more tournaments making it even harder on players.
