I still can’t believe they decided to kill off the LCS. It was THE brand for LOLEsports - especially for older fans trying to understand wtf LTA stands for.
i think the death of roadshows was my biggest personal disappointment. i'd never felt more connected to the community than when i went to the summer finals in detroit and met a bunch of people near me passionate about the same sport i was, and it's sad to think they just might not keep doing that. if the LTA doesn't put in a good effort to build up something new and interesting, and most importantly accessible to fans that don't live in california specifically, then i think they might soon fall into the OWL pitfall of esports relevance.
Gonna be honest I keep forgetting the league even exists. As someone who followed for 8+ years, watched weekly, listened at work when I could and watched extra content like yours... The league just has no pull for me anymore. Maybe it started with the poor international performances - maybe it was almost all the talking heads reusing the same handful of narratives every year. Idk. RIP LCS.
This is where I'm at, too. I am a beta player in League. Then got really into watching the early LoL eSports tournaments and loved every minute of the drama. The LCS was a topic I wrote papers on in law school. I watched every online talk show for about 5-6 years. I was as in as you could be. But I've felt nothing for it for about 2+ years now.
As a 30 year old I'll say losing the LCS brand was like losing a part of my childhood and it really does feel like a slap in the face to the history of the League. It probably hurts me more since I've played and watched for 15 years but it still feels like such a slap in the face.
LTA actually makes it sound like a LATAM league so it's even more confusing. Rebranding is almost always a bad idea, the lingering effect of reeducating so many people is ungodly difficult & expensive.
I don’t know if I can pin it to one thing, but 2024 was definitely my last year of caring about the LCS or whatever it’s called now. I’ve unsubbed and unfollowed all leagues creators or pros. It was a good run, but it’s definitely over. My friends left when it was Thursday night games, same group I used to watch with back in Season 2. Good luck Travis!
Worst thing to happen to the LCS? It not existing anymore.
The storage closet was so poetic because they were kicked out for Valorant
My one and only live event for the LCS was Houston... it was so good I actually am just happy i got to experience that moment
I got to go to NYC and Jersey. It's tragic it won't happen again probably
That danny pentakill made the arena shake man

But Travis!! Flyquest basically said bo3 was the only reason they did so well this year!! It can't be bad!
It's in his top 5 best things to happen this year

single round robin bo3s were still way better than double round robin bo1s, I can't fathom putting it on a worst things to happen list
I completely agree. Our teams were so much better this year. Travis just wanted to prove himself right xd
Well, I agree with you. I didn't put it on the worst things to happen list! It was on a dishonorable mention list!
Travis always trying to make his bo3 takes look better so he HAS to say bo3s were bad and all knowing travis told you so
BO3's were one of the best things to happen this year, imo
I agree with all these takes on BO3 being better
Somehow still watch lcs. Havent played league in years i just casually watch lcs. Got to give this shit up soon

Definitely agree LCS brand being lost is big big L for Riot, and it wasn't even necessary big big L
it was 100 percent needed na was dying .
LCS should be the new tier 2
Went to 22-23 Finals, I guess I got them in just in time before all the roadshows died for good. Sad.
LEC also stole some of the best talent from the LPL and now we no longer have an LPL English cast. It's so frustrating and sad.
2:15 Travis using a vine boom?? That Vine boom (and the following Vine booms) caught me VERY off guard 💀💀
I literally can’t find any information online about the LCS because of the rebranding
Maybe a different title for clickbaits' sake
I wouldn't say for clickbait but more for clarity. Bottom 5 doesn't make too much sense
I don’t know what the LCS is do you mean LTA North?
Not Travis copying the YT TREND ad releasing this the same day TCC releases their magic video
Tbf it was up for members a week ago
I don't know, Travis, 'LTA' has a good mouth feel to it
Yo, time to sign up for Gafford's OnlyMembers.
LCS doesnt exist and neither does my viewership. The most shameful way for the League to die.

Thanks for supporting over the years. I hope our paths cross again.
Travis, its L ta! you gotta say L ta
Best of threes was one of the best things to happen to lcs this past year and I don’t know why you’re a giga hater. It’s okay to be wrong 😮
na has been shit for years. they have always felt like a wild card region . now we can officially say they are
EU shitposter hater discovered!!! get em, lads!
@Sonicx5040 nah more like born in burbank ca disappointed in na lck lpl fan dipshhit 🤣
you tried eu is just as dog
Nah JoJo gone is good.
LTA is such a garbage name lol, I'm sure the CBLOL people hate it, too. And for what? An end of summer tournament? Who cares?
Classic negative Travis
Did you hear when I said I have a positive one?!?!
@@TravisGafford cmon travis, you know I comment only based on the title and thumbnail
I just sad the NA LCS Finals were ALWAY west coast and never east coast
death of tier 2 is one of the best things that happens to LCS though. Those kids need to work super hard instead of having handouts lol
Those kids gonna go and find jobs instead of playing LoL
