Great song we grew up with, thanks for taking the time to share it with us you were spot on, funny how I thought I kind of knew it but realized I had two things missing and it wasn't until you pointed out the part during the lead and how the rhythm kind of changed, the other thing was the e thump every other time. Nice job on the details. Thank you Funny how you can hear certain things in a song and totally miss other details. Not sure if it's a man thing or just a music thing. lol
+Ohu8one 2 thanks so much for checking this out and i greatly appreciate the very kind post - keep rockin' and keeping the good stuff going! your friend, dale.
+tonedr it's the little hook just before the second part that you teach, about 0:16 in the studio version and at about 0:33 in the one live version on youtube. Thanks, Dale!
+vermontbred smith open hit open A string, then again hammering on to the 2nd fret of the A string (B note) then an open D string hit then second fret D string for one note (E note) hope this makes sense and sorry for the commission. Your friend, dale.
Excelent mate very good job but im having probs with one bit at the start. ive tried a few versions but not sure if it is perfect. You missed it out in your version. Can you pls show us the small 5+ notes at the very start right after he does the intro. its like a trill or a small run before he goes into the Em bit. I would like to seehow you do this bit. Thanks very much mate. Gary
I think a good place to start getting the idea of how to play that first quick riff is at 9:10 into the vid - that riff which comes midway through the song starts exactly the same, but continues with two further notes on the higher strings. Hope that helps :)
I triple dog dare you :) I cant get it right for the life of me, and I know you have the ear for it. Also, if you feel ambitious, do a tutorial on phil collins and phillip baileys easy lover, kids need to hear that song.
Hey great video and guitar! The guitar sound fantastic! Is that a PRS Hollow Body II with Piezo pickups? Do you have a tutorial on Find Your Way Back? All the best...
Angel Martinez thanks for checking this out and i appreciate the kind post. It is a HB 2 but no Piezo. Sorry haven't covered that one yet but a great tune!
+Angel Martinez You know I have always played a Les Paul Custom since 1980 and my Sister got me a PRS 25th Anniversary Something II it has eagles on it and I have been playing the crap out of it. I think it is as close to a Les Paul Custom as you can get. I think I like it because my Paul is worn out but still rocks like spreading butter with a feather touch.
Hey man, great lesson for sure. I've loved this song ever since I first heard it as a kid.. now it's even better to jam along with. Just wonder what effects are you using??
@@tonedr It was the very first modern rock song I heard, blasted out of jacked up camaro as I walked to school. A great song, when you broke it done as you did helped me notice is an outstanding song. I use to manage local bands learned how to listen to them as they played would be asked what did I think. to be with you say find a band now!
Great job explaining everything. So many of these videos want you to watch some idiot play the whole song and not explain anything? I think that's called a "performance Spectacle" LoL!! Nice PRS btw.
This song just shouts YEAH. I'M AN ELECTRIC GUITAR AND I'M BAD ASS !!!!
Thanks for your time and knowledge.
PEACE from Philadelphia

Thanks Dale. Do you know the little hook between the first and second sections?
I liked the lesson.
+vermontbred smith have a time mark in the song?

Hey I was wondering where did you or where can I get the guitar tabs for this song , and for a lot of their other songs?
+11gpsx5 i learned this tune by ear...i'm sorry but I'm no help for tab.
all the best with your music,
dale
isn't there a little quick riff in the intro between the picking and the chords?
could be i may have missed it - thanks for checking this out!
that's the only part I'm looking for haha......do you have any resources for this tutorial? Or did you transcribe yourself

Tanner Adair pluck the A String. Then hammer-on to the 2nd fret of the same string. Now pluck the D String. That's all there is
Hey Dale! Blake again, any chance you could do a video for the solo? That would be so boss.
maybe one of these days i can get around to it - appreciate the request!
I triple dog dare you :) I cant get it right for the life of me, and I know you have the ear for it. Also, if you feel ambitious, do a tutorial on phil collins and phillip baileys easy lover, kids need to hear that song.
Is that got some type of phaser on the recording phase 90 or something.
agree

dale
Any chance this will be covered by Lexington Lab Band? Because that would make my day. Thanks.
i would love too - could happen! Just saw Starship and checked off my bucket list seeing Mickey Thomas live - he still sounds terrific!
