I never really saw Hades as a villain , he didn’t enjoy causing innocent people pain, and we saw at the beginning of the movie how the Olympian’s mistreated him now imagine that treatment for thousands of years, he lives in literal hell, to be honest the only messed up thing he did was try to kill baby Hercules and only then because the Fates encouraged him.
He also enslaved Meg. And sicced a bunch of monsters on a bunch on innocent towns. And buried his brother in lava. And that's not even touching on how awful he was to his nephew, even without the whole "trying to murder him" thing. Don't get me wrong, I totally relate to Hades. After seeing the way his own family treats him, how horrible the place he lives is and how stupid his employees are, I get why he's bitter. But come on. He's totally a villain, at least in the Disney version. In actual Greek Mythology though, he's one of the nicer ones.
@@keandregreen5628 Did you forget about him wrapping her up in smoke vines as bait for Hercules? Not to mention that when she tried to leave he wouldn't let her. Also, "selling your soul" implies that he owns her anyway, which implies slavery. As for the monsters thing, that's my whole point. He sics them on the all the other gods in a bid for power, including his brother (who admittedly may have deserved it) and his nephew (who absolutely did NOT deserve it because he never did anything to Hades until Hades started antagonizing him). Power grabs are generally something that the bad guys tend to do.

Vikki DC not really lol. Incel stands for "involuntarily celebate". Gaston just doesn't pay attention to the women who have crushes on him (the bimbettes) all because he is busy chasing Belle. Incels on the other hand, can't get anyone to crush on them so they stay bitter as fuck lmao.
Helena Santos I am never going to relate with a puppy killer especially one who only cares about fashion, there is a reason why most people look down upon the fur industry.
"It's hard to make Hades relatable". Only Greek god in a commuter relationship with no cheating, only one who doesn't cheat people out of his deals his terms are always fair if a little harsh, only god not really welcome at Olympus. Plus he's actually the eldest of his siblings spent his entire life in his father's stomach because of his dad's paranoia over a prophecy describing how Zeus would chase their dad of, only for their mother to assist Zeus the youngest kid into becoming rules of Earth and Sky.
He kidnapped his own niece and forced her to marry him! I'd hardly call that relatable! If a human in real life had done that, it'd be considered rape!
@@nicholasemjohnson47 actually depends on the version. Plus he does the same thing every Greek god does yet he's the only one people hate when he actually allows his partner to leave.
10. Looking back on it, Peter Pan seems like the real villain in the story, and Hook is the tragic hero. 9. I don't wear fur, so I can't relate to Cruella at all. 8. I can sympathize with Jafar on having a dumbass boss, but his desire to sleep with the boss's daughter cancels out that sympathy. 7. If Scar was that jealous, why didn't he try to kill Mufasa before the latter had Simba, besides the whole "it wouldn't make for a great story" reason. 6. Look we all desire to be young when we're old, but, in the end, we're all gonna die. 5. Who leaves their will to a bunch of cats? They may be fancy and sophisticated, but they're still cats. 4. We all have days when we want to kill the emperor, especially Kuzco. 3. Buddy was gonna get himself killed if he tried being Mr. Incredible's sidekick. Not realizing his heroes are flawed and imperfect is on him. 2. Hades is the most relatable character in the film. 1. I can understand being snubbed, but did she really have to curse the princess to get revenge? Why would she even want to go to that party? It's not like she'd appear in any softer light.
Scar DID try to have Mufasa killed at an earlier point. Long story short his attempt caused him to get the scar he has over his eye, and he decided to go by the name "Scar" instead of his original name Taka.
So I know I'm super late to the party, but to answer your question about number 1, the reason she reacted so strongly is an actual history thing. In the days Sleeping Beauty was set for, being any kind of powerful person and NOT getting invited was a HUGE offence. That's why the line about hoping it had been an oversight. It's also why the Queen calls her 'Your Grace' with such respect. Duels to the death and plots for murder were enacted for far less than the offence they committed by not inviting her. At least in those days. In regards to the Lion King, Scar (born Taka) was actually the older brother and had been first in line before but then his parents were like "Nah you get to be the backup plan we like the way your brother looks better" And because Mufasa was stronger than Scar any attempts to take the throne by force would be defeated. Trying to be smart, he set a trap for his brother but it backfired, giving him the scar which he took on as his name. It occurs to me I may know too much Disney lore.
Even if you wore fur cruella is still unrelatable. Even people who wear fur at least in a western country would never think about killing 100 puppies for a coat. Fur was considered murder by some back then and got red paint thrown on you which I disagree with but if your fur coat was made out of puppies in America that's likely to get you killed. Most Americans don't play around when it comes to dogs.
In my opinion it's : 1. Ursula 2. Hades 3. Izma You know Ursula never lied about any of the conditions of her contract. It was Ariel who was so dumb to sign it. She is just a very powerful businesswoman.
@@maria-vw4bb true though Ariel did ask about the consequences and about her being able to see her family. She made have made a bad decision but the questions she asked Were good. From my understanding King Triton was extremely overprotective which may be the reason why Ariel explores and sneaks off so much. That and destroying Ariel's precious collection of knicknacks was wrong. He should have just destroyed the statue and the ones that actually seem dangerous and let her keep some of the nice ones. In fact that outburst of destruction is what caused her to follow the eels' advice and find the sea witch in the first place
I get where you're coming from with her deals. But at the same time wasn't she cheating a bit and swayed the odds in her favor when Ariel almost succeeded in the requirements of the deal?
No technically did she lie about the contract and she should have never cheated the deal. Hades, I understand because he was forced and cheated to work in the underworld. An is treated badly by everyone. So he is just getting some revenge. Plus he always kept his word.
Even as a child, I always thought Edgar was extremely relatable. He devoted years, likely his entire life, to care for that woman and her entire household and THE GODDAMN CATS GET EVERYTHING. I legit feel for Edgar, him and hades personality are most relatable in my book
There is no way someone can defend Cruella, Gothel or Scar, their reasons are horrible!!!! At least Hades and Hook had good reason!!! He was betrayed by his own kin and the other one had his hand chop off!!
Nobody defends them but people have this horrible urges so don't tell me you never had dark thoughts, maybe not everyone have been in the same situations but at some point everyone felt similar
Cruella & Gothel I don’t understand, but Scar I do. Having a sibling getting the spotlight of the show and getting worshipped as a god and given them challenges while you on the other hand get a nice pat in the back and a “good job” and then being left alone sucks. Scar can be relatable as he represents the jealous sibling who gets neglected because they're always in the siblings' shadow. Plus, the older brother is supposed to get the throne anyway, he got robbed!

Edgar really is a good person, when you think about it. Oh, and why on Earth was Gaston even in the honourable mentions? How is a sexist pig who cares only about a woman's body and not her own feelings and being willing to go so far as to force said woman into marriage at the risk of Losing her father in any sane way relatable to most people?
Only way Gaston could be relatable is with his arrogance. And as of 2018, you're sure as heck gonna meet some arrogant or narcissistic or even sexist people. Whether it's social media or a coworker.
9:47. The look on their faces as Syndrome walks away. Bob and Helen look like they want to strangle him. Dash actually looks devastated, and Violet seems to be the only one confused.
Hades... I'd like to call him the personification of a woman's mood swings. First cool, calm and collected then quick shift to infuriated saying: "I'm FINE!" Yes, he's so relatable
I wouldn't say Malificent is Nr. 1, cause I can't relate. Same goes for Cruela. "She wanted to look good". Oh, wow, you can look good without fur, too! I would have mentioned Zira, cause Simba banned the whole family but they actually didn't do anything bad! They were just relatives of Scar as far as I know.
Edgar Balthazar is one of the more relatable villains, despite being greedy, Edgar does not seem to be extremely cruel. It would have been easy for him to just kill Duchess and her kittens but he chose not to.
Okay but why isn’t Edgar number one? Not only is he the most harmless disney “villain” but the fact that he devoted his entire life taking care of and obeying a wealthy old cat lady only for all her fortune to go to her pets OVER the person who took care of her. That’s just plain ridiculous.
Yeah but really his life wouldn’t change that much. I’m assuming he would be taking care of the cats. But then again, cats can live for like 20 years or more and he’s probably going to have to hassle for every dime from the trust.🤔. At least he didn’t try to kill them, like so many Disney villains.
It depends on who's the most relatable to most people. You relate to villains who have the same traumas you've had. Some people have never been left out of a party or been overshadowed by family.
Even though I try not to feel too bad for Callaghan (he is the villain, stole Hiro’s microbots, started the fire that killed Tadashi, coldly told Hiro that Tadashi’s death was the latter’s fault, attacked his former students, and I see him hanging his head down when he was arrested more as him being disappointed at being sent to prison), he should be on this list. Even the Queen from Snow White should be on it.
I really relate to Yzma. We both get annoyed by people, we're great at throwing shade, we both believe we're super fabulous, and we put up with so much crap through our lives.
Well, Maleficent's origin started when she was betrayed by the man that claimed to love her. Her supposed "lover" cut her wings off in her sleep and ran off to become king. If you think about it, she is relatable to a handful of vengeful people. Actually, she's technically that one ex-girlfriend who will do anything to make your life miserable. That was why she cursed Aurora-- Aurora was the daughter of the same man that cut her wings off.
Hades is actually the most relatable god in greek mythology. He got tricked into being stuck with the worst job even though he was the oldest in his family and should have been ruling Olympus in the first place. He got lonely and took Persephone as his wife and the whole time he has remained faithful to her showing he is more honorable and loyal than Zeus is. In fact he was surprisingly nice to her and had all the best gardeners he could find to grow her a field of flowers. He was even willing to cut deals with mortals and give them another shot at life if he felt like it. Honestly he is probably the most honorable and nicest god in greek mythology. He was the only one in his family who was not a complete asshole.
Well to be honest, Yzma wants to rule the kingdom and thought she could raise Kuzco to do her bidding as a puppet emperor. And the fact that he found her ruling behind his back proved it. Fortunately he had a mind of is own (a spoiled one though) and knew Yzma was bad news
I've been purposely excluded from plans, it felt horrible. My friend asked who wanted to go to town on the weekend, I said yeah, they said "oh sorry, I can't go to town anymore". On the Monday after, first thing they said to me was "It was really fun in town on Saturday"
I compeately relate to Edgar. The old lady is crazy to give her residence to cats. In the end we see that her decision was bad as the house turns into a compete ruin due to cat's parties. Edgar is a good character.
Syndrome is not relatable. While smart, and with decent ideas initially, he was an obsessive fanboy and sociopath. He was so obsessive that he interfered with Mr. Incredible's fight with Bomb Voyage, in the end causing a chain reaction that led to the hiding of supers. And the fact that his memory omits that fact shows how self centered and maniacal he truly was.
Exactly! Syndrome wouldn’t stop bugging Mr. Incredible to be his sidekick. He was simply rejected because he was a kid and being a superhero is dangerous work and requires a lot of experience, sacrifice and duty, three things that Buddy or Incrediboy or Syndrome was sorely lacking. Not to mention that it was his fault that Bomb Voyage escaped and that it cost all superheroes the privilege of being superheroes due to a railroad explosion caused by the bomb that Bomb Voyage put on his cape. He should’ve been thankful that Mr. Incredible saved his life and that further proves why Syndrome shouldn’t be sympathized with.
A lot of these villains are sassy queens who hate children, surrounded by child-worshipping individuals (sometimes literally) they don’t mesh with and incompetent bosses.
Living in Florida feels like the underworld, I'm surrounded by people similar to Pain and Panic, full of old souls who for some reason wants to touch you, and pretty much I ended up just like Hades personality wise (when he's calm and triggered but quickly calms down) he's the most relatable to me
You know, the real Hades is way more relatable. He's just a guy doing his job and compared to his two brothers he has done far less to screw with mortals. He doesn't demand worship or respect and still gives all those who pass on a fair hearing and judgement as to where in the underworld they shall be sent, it's not really hell unless you're refering to the part known as Tartarus while Elysium would be more like heaven. Hard to call somebody who's duty is to fairly judge and watch over the souls of the dead a bad person.

@Big Ol Internet Troll Dude this us utube not tinder
I never really saw Hades as a villain , he didn’t enjoy causing innocent people pain, and we saw at the beginning of the movie how the Olympian’s mistreated him now imagine that treatment for thousands of years, he lives in literal hell, to be honest the only messed up thing he did was try to kill baby Hercules and only then because the Fates encouraged him.
and add in he was tricked by his younger brother Zeus into become God of the underworld while Zeus became God of the heavens.
c sm Exactly in Hercules the series Zeus even admits he would never have Hercules work a terrible job like ruling the Underworld
Lt. Basil he didn’t enslave Meg she made the choice to sell him her soul and he sent the monsters to attack Hercules and Mount Olympus
Hades: Hey, Hercules, I have one question for you
Hercules: wh-
Hades: WHAT ARE THOSE?!?!

Cruella is absolutely NOT relatable! No fashion trend is worth inocent lives, c'mon
You said it
Not only that, she's an arrogant condescending bench who thinks that if others don't live up to her standards of fashion and finance, they deserve to be treated like garbage. Take away the fact that she was willing to kill animals for her fashion, she's still a terrible person.
I dunno....they were pretty spot on about the relatable driving lmao
Hahaha only that
But you use leather bags, belt, shoes or any things that are made up of animal skin. :/
In what world is Gaston relatable?!
who haven't had a girl/boy turn them down
Belle chooses a literal beast over him, i kinda see his point
I mean he wouldn't have known that the Beast was a human that was cursed, in his point of view he might have just thought it was a danger to Belle and everyone else. Also, rejection, but in this day and age men like Gaston that won't stop are especially looked down upon.
Most of the townspeople, minus Belle and Maurice, practically idolize him.
Favorite villain for each gender.
Male: Hades
Female: maleficent
M8ne is hades and yzma
Scar: "Whyyy, if it isn't my big brother, descending from on-high to mingle with the commoners." That line makes me think of Lucifer and Amenediel.
I honestly thought that they’d mention the fact that Scar said “I am surrounded by idiots”

Helena Santos same! For crying out loud, she tried to murder 99 puppies & Pongo and Perdy

"It's hard to make Hades relatable".
Only Greek god in a commuter relationship with no cheating, only one who doesn't cheat people out of his deals his terms are always fair if a little harsh, only god not really welcome at Olympus. Plus he's actually the eldest of his siblings spent his entire life in his father's stomach because of his dad's paranoia over a prophecy describing how Zeus would chase their dad of, only for their mother to assist Zeus the youngest kid into becoming rules of Earth and Sky.
yeah, I was like "did they even read greek mythology?"
True. I forget, did the stories ever say why Hades was banished to the realm of the dead?
@@demonprincess9680 Hades was never banished. They drew straws to see which realm they would rule.
I personally don’t think Cruella should be on this list.
At least not in the animated version, she is just a Cruel Devil hence the name Cruella de Vil. In Cruella (2021) she is more relatable.

"The Emperor needs his drink."
Yeah, the baby can't live without his sippy cup
Omg true
Hahahahaha 😂😂😭😭
The Madame didn't have any children or relatives to leave her will for, so she left it for her cats. I would probably do the same thing.
Also!! Buddy was like idk 9?! When he wanted to be a super? He had no powers and he would be a liability on the field
In my opinion it's :
1. Ursula
2. Hades
3. Izma
You know Ursula never lied about any of the conditions of her contract. It was Ariel who was so dumb to sign it. She is just a very powerful businesswoman.
FACTS‼
Ursula, the only Disney villain who never broke any laws

Nobody defends them but people have this horrible urges so don't tell me you never had dark thoughts, maybe not everyone have been in the same situations but at some point everyone felt similar
Cruella & Gothel I don’t understand, but Scar I do. Even in Hercules I liked him after Hercules
Okay but why isn’t Edgar number one? Not only is he the most harmless disney “villain” but the fact that he devoted his entire life taking care of and obeying a wealthy old cat lady only for all her fortune to go to her pets OVER the person who took care of her. That’s just plain ridiculous.

Even the Queen from Snow White should be on it.
I really relate to Yzma. We both get annoyed by people, we're great at throwing shade, we both believe we're super fabulous, and we put up with so much crap through our lives.
To be honest Hades should DEFINATELY been first... Maleficent isn’t even that relatable! 👇👇😡
Relatable only to Samantha Markle perhaps
Claude Frollo in the huchback for notredame.

Honorable mention for Gaston? Come on, he's one of the less relatable characters in the history of cinema...
Syndrome was a symbol for cancerous fans who makes fanfics lmfao

To be fair, hades is (ironically) one of the most chill gods in greek mythology.
I definitely disagree with Cruella being in this list
You know, the real Hades is way more relatable. He's just a guy doing his job and compared to his two brothers he has done far less to screw with mortals. He doesn't demand worship or respect and still gives all those who pass on a fair hearing and judgement as to where in the underworld they shall be sent, it's not really hell unless you're refering to the part known as Tartarus while Elysium would be more like heaven. Hard to call somebody who's duty is to fairly judge and watch over the souls of the dead a bad person.
