I love your videos! Could you please do a video on how people treat you after weight loss. I have lost some of my "bigger" friends since I have lost all of my weight. They tell me that I've lost "too much". My doctor says I'm fine. My BMI is a healthy 21.9 from 47.9. (HW 262-CW 120) I feel amazing!!! I speed walk a 5k everyday & lift 2.5lb weights to build muscle in my arms. I eat all my veggies & fruits. I eat fish, chicken,& turkey. No red meats or processed foods. I feel better than ever. Why do they say I took the "easy way out"? I work hard everyday & now have control over my food choices. It's not easy.
Terra, I'll have to think about that one - the nuts and bolts of bariatric surgery are easy to put into a video, the emotional stuff is a little tougher. Many of my videos focus on the physiologic limitations of conventional weight loss which points out the importance of having surgery as an option for people like you. I don't think anyone who goes through with the surgery looks at WLS as the "easy way out" this is mostly an uninformed public - changing this will take a another decade or so...
VSG Terra they just weren't your friends or they are just so unhappy with themselves they can't be happy for you! getting my surgery soon and all my friends are 100 percent supportive. it's not you it's them
220. They mistakenly said that was a 9 m weigh in, but she was wearing the 12 m clothes. Sadly she didn’t make a huge amount of progress w her weight the last 3 m.
Is it normal to have memory loss 3 even 4 months down the road? I am having issues with depression and regret. How can I move past this and will it get better?
Kelli, this is definitely not a question that should be managed over the Internet - I strongly encourage you to see your surgeon and discuss these things with him or her. I will comment that regret within the first month is very common, but typically goes away after the first 30-40 lbs. of weight loss result in increased energy and mobility. There is a nutritional component to depression that can be counteracted by eating lots of nutrient rich foods like fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, but there are other elements as well that you should be discussing with your surgeon, primary care doctor and a psychologist. Good luck.
Called my surgeons office and they said that tthey would only treat me for anything that would have to do with stomach issues. I have my gynecologist and pcp helping me I also have a therapist. Thank you so much for replying back. I wish there was someone like out here...
