He didn't realize that Imposter Ditto with Choice Scarf has severely limited PP. From the post-game discussion, temp asks him why he didn't use Haze, and his response was "well, I could have crit." He only superficially understands the point of the counters, because he doesn't want to think more deeply than "powerful moves be more powerful!"
Tbf that second match was unironically premium educational content in how to counter your counters when playing a linear strategy. And the salt seasoning with why no Haze at the end was perfection.

Lol "I know how to counter you" not once did he think of a Toxic/burn stall or just Haze/Defog. Even Perish song/Destiny bond would have won easily. Don't see how you can fail a single vs 6 twice.
Perish song would have been a 3 turn win for this dude but he lists several convoluted strategies instead...
Or a spiritomb or sableye. Since he only had psychic and fighting moves
haze is not defog. perish song and destiny bond is niche. toxic would definitely work. he could've used urshifu for the crits, if he crits. he could've used any ghost type, so mew just can't attack. etc
His rating was 1000, which meant that he either had never won, or lost often enough to never climb the ladder. In any case, he was likely new to the game.
My gen 1 & 2 history doesn’t comprehend but I love, admire, and appreciate what you’re doing! Plus those sprites are really nice!

@@Sivarias I made the same team, even tried giving them all similar movesets despite stats

welp i don't play at all and i can tell the same :3
they think stat buffs etc don't matter because they don't pay attention to them in the games, only have offensive moves and don't use held items.
I mean, I beat my rival after he used tail whip twice, so moves that don't do damage are obviously a waste of space! duh.

Do all legendary spammers forget that crit is rng not automatically given to u every time you need it?!
i dont play pokemon, but two things. your plan should never rely on rng crits. and also, do those moves have increased crit chance? if not then why is he expecting to crit?
The crits negate Mew's defense boosts so it was his only hope. However, in the salty runback if he had a Toxic user he wouldve won, but he overestimated his own brain and temp6t punished him for it
hes literally not even using a single move that has an increased crit chance but is still surprised that he didnt get a crit. genius

Dont forget toxic as well
Only legendary pokemon allowed, moves like Fissure, toxic, destiny bond, perish song was not allowed.
A honchkrow, despite the lower stats, might have been a good counter pick. It is Dark/Flying, thus being immune to Stored Power and resists Body Press. It can learn Haze and Taunt to negate Cosmic Power and Roost. It has Torment to slow down buffs, Roost, and Body Press usage, making it very predictable. It has Night Slash for a STAB Super Effective move with boosted crit ratio. It also has Super Luck for boosted crit ratio. Slap on a Scope Lens and you have a total +3 crit ratio, which is literally 100% crit chance (and thus can simply ignore Cosmic Power boosts).
It doesn't resist body press.Ifn you wanna use anything, use shedinja
