In Pokemon TCG, each player has up to 6 face down cards called "prize cards" that they can flip over and add to their hand anytime an opponents pokemon dies.
If a player draws all of their prize cards, they win the game.
@@simeonellinger2064 Does pokemon have a discard pile/graveyard? Does it also have an exile pile/banish zone?
@@resphantomYes, kinda. IDK if there's special card (like Pokemon Card's ability or Suppoter Card; basically Spell Card) with the special effect depends on how many cards in the discard pile.
@@raveast Seems like there is a discard pile and some cards that interact with it.
@@resphantom Yes to both questions. It's hard to not have a Discard Pile in most card games. They have to go somewhere. And the exiled card mechanic is called the "Lost Zone," with cards that have attacks or effects you can only use once you send enough cards there.
Why is this more epic then anything pokemon has actually done for the past decade
Kaiba win with rule 34 ... its not cheating but ...
1:23 relatable
Being both a yugioh and pokemon tcg player, and having watched the anime.
This was perfect for me
1:48 What's a V-Pokemon?
They are cards from the sword and shield era that were just big bodies but worth more prizes.
@@cthefro what the cards have big bodies? I don't know how they could be official PTC is bigger than the official sides.
@@StormySky48 I mean they have high hp and high attack. In both games high stat lines are referred to as big bodies, at least in my experience.
It was the game's two prize Rule Box mechanic in the Sword & Shield era, in which they are all basic Pokémon. Along the lifespan of the era, two forms V Pokémon were introduced as evolutions to Basic Vs:
- VMAX Pokémon (Gigantamax mechanic from the VG), which were exceptionally powerful but worth 3 prizes when KOd
- VSTAR Pokémon ("Blessed" with the celestial power of Arceus), which were not-as-powerful as a VMAX, but have a significantly strong attack or Ability in the form of a "VSTAR Power" you can only ever use once within a game
@@cthefro Okay but what do you mean by worth more prizes? What prizes are there to earn in a card game?
"Destroy the fucking MOOOOOOOOOOOOOON" was an impossible to foresee plot twist.
Imagine yugi found a opponent who cheats in TCG by breaking the un sportsmanship in the handbook as the opponent does a questionable gesture
Ah yes, The Ian Robbs incident at Worlds 2024, this year.
I'm still pissed that he was given a game loss, even though he won his match against Fernando 2-0 and even signed the match slip.
Stupid judges thought his quote on quote "hand gesture" at the end of the match was "unsportsmanlike". SMH.
Or Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town.😒
@@DKQuagmire There are videos that explicitly explain why Ian was given the game loss in the Top 8 round based on how the rules are structured.
And if you can't understand why his obscene gesture (that he openly admitted to someone as such) was inappropriate given the circumstances, then there's not much I can do for you.
@@PkmnMstr10 but what about player Isaiah. I saw a compilation clip (highlight reel) on Pokemons official TH-cam channel, of that guy doing the exact same thing. But he's not punished?
Yugioh isn’t immune to that teamsamuraix got a hand loss in finals fir swearing with goddam
This game is not a kids game and goddam isn’t a swear (or at least shouldn’t be)
Literally witnessing vaporeon for a millisecond and knew where this was going.
The internet was a mistake, man.😂
Can't believe he didn't use reshiram
"Pharoh: King of games" yugioh just happened to be the most drastic with summons actually happening and you know, loosing drags you to the underworld...shadow realm :D
