I dated a guy whose family lived like this. Once he moved in with me, he cleaned. I never asked him to, but it was something he had pride in. You’ve given this 17 year old a fresh start, I wish him the best going forward, because this is rough.
i was the same way. I grew up similarly and as soon as I got out, my dorm room was always clean, and later my bedroom, and soon my own place. I have anxiety flare ups and attacks if my room is cluttered
im in this situation, is really hard bc I myself never undesrtood that the way i lived was wrong and unhealthy until i was already older and watched cleaning videos on youtube bc they were recommended for being viral and then i started learning and realizing how bad it is here.... plus i didnt know many things about cleaning and how to do it. Where i live, rare times i tried to do some cleaning here but overall i just don't have energy or motivation because its like YEARS of filth accumulated and not just filth, house building problems too... Living with super messy people doesn't help bc they don't cooperate to keep the place clean and even make things worse by dirtying it all... As a bonus i have depression and anxiety too. Its too much for me to fix when i cant even have right products to clean, i just gave up and do the bare minimum until i get my own place and start fresh with my own money :(
True and reaching out for help was beyond just doing his best, he was reaching out for help. His mother had him buried in junk so he couldn't easily clean it himself. Rob if you are reading; you can keep your shower clean without having to scrub anything. Buy a squeegee and use a towel to dry the shower after each use or at least once a day. You can use your own towel or a bar towel or a gym towel if you prefer. This trick will keep your shower spotless clean. You can do the same thing with the sink. Just dry it after using it or at least once a day. There is something wonderful about getting into a dry shower.
It's obvious that Rob has been neglected and his mom is very stubborn. Auri never says anything negative about the clients, so it's obvious that it's a really bad situation. 😢
the mom has some mental illness issues that possibly has been untreated. it doesn't have anything to do with stubbornness. she truly needs help and some compassion.
@@bummblebee77 You don't know the whole story. The fact that Auri said anything "negative" at all speaks volumes. Mental illness doesn't excuse everything.
That comment about Rob showering in that filth, while his mom uses a clean shower. NOT COOL 😢. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for cleaning for Rob❤❤❤.
Seems weird that the mother couldn't see that her son might want to use a clean shower also. I think neither of them could be bothered cleaning it😮 & her easy way out was to use one at work 😕
True, but he could have cleaned it. It's a capable teen who works and has a gf. He's big enough to clean his own shower. Yes, his mum could have taught him... but now he has it clean. Don't blame the mum for a capable person who works, has a gf and goes to school.
I slightly disagree on the home cooked part bc it isn't so easy but at least thr food should be clean and up to date. And the storing conditions should be clean and safe not combined with bugs and mold etc.
Home cooked meals can be hard to do but on the general idea, yes, children deserve a safe and clean environment so they can thrive. It doesn't have to be perfect but there's a minimum you have to do for your kids. You chose to have them and having a kid means you have to do things for them.
Children do definitely deserve that, please spare a thought for the thousands of them that do not get it. Cos unfortunately they can't choose their so called parents.. 😢😮
@@renateirissijbesma8248you don’t know what it’s like living with a hoarder parent. She’d likely freak out on him if he tried touching her stuff. Thank god she allowed Auri to throw out some of it but if HE did that it would probably be a different story.
@@popcornanytime7414 I think it would be difficult for a young person who was never given a good example or shown HOW to clean a bathroom (or anything, really) to suddenly be able to keep it nice and clean. He should look up videos on how to clean house so that he can learn these really important life skills, since his mother doesn't know how to, either. Maybe they could even watch and learn, together.
I'm appalled by the story of the mom showering at work and leaving her child to shower in that mess 🤬 thank you for cleaning it for him. Hopefully she will get a clue that she can't leave it like this.
@@christinetadier7138 That is a child. He can only do so much when it comes to a mother like that. The mother is also capable of cleaning that shower, and she didn't either.
That's true. My mom used keep the house filthy, but I used to take the initiative to clean everyday, and even deep clean at the age of just 14. Saying that, it quickly gets strenous when you're the only one cleaning up after yourself and others, so I gave up some years after. Thank god it's different now. Maybe he also tried, but gave up in an environmental like that. @@christinetadier7138
@@christinetadier7138Guess how long he's been 17? Now guess how long it's been since he was 13? Gfys, his mother should be held responsible for the living conditions her child lives in and should have had him taken away honestly. You'd be an awful parent if you cant take responsibility over something that is most definitely your fault and your responsibility.
@@christinetadier7138 It's absolutely ridiculous to look at a situation where the parent is incapable of cleaning a shower and decide the child raised by that parent should be the one more responsible and more capable. That shower didn't get like that after 365 days of being 17, or 16, or 15 or 14. That filth has been building up over a decade, I suppose 9 year old him should have been really better preparing himself for adulthood. He should really thought of that before he let it get out of control in 4th grade.
She treats her son like most people treat their pets. Even in relatively clean houses, I've seen their pets' water dishes looking disgusting. My house gets messy, but I won't give my cats something to eat or drink out of that I wouldn't also use. Sadly, most people think that's more gross. Just because your pets tolerate un unclean bowl, it doesn't mean they like it or should have to. They deserve empathy.
Hi! Pets and animals in general cannot clean man made spaces or objects and are unable to use cleaning products. Human teen, however, can. Hope this helps!
He reached out to her, wanting help. This is his mother's home, so why wouldn't he ask her for help? Because he knows she won't. He clearly doesn't want a messy home, he just wants help. His mother couldn't care less.
@@mothmosI don't think it's fair to be so harsh on someone who didn't have a parent to teach them shit. He's still a teen and in his eyes this is "normal". It's not like he becomes a well rounded adult as soon as he hits 18.
@@loutenant2817people shitting on a kid reaching out for help is gross. And being sexist about it is bad too. The fact that they aren't bad mouthing the mother - the responsible adult in this situation - is telling.
The mom needs support from social services! I can only imagine how growing up with her and in this house has affected the son. He deserves better, and the mom deserves more help 🙏
Does she "deserve" help? I struggle with the concept that adults "deserve" anything beyond freedom and due process. She didn't even reach out for the help she got. She is responsible for her son, meeting his needs, and teaching him how to be a self sufficient adult. Actually at 17, he should be keeping his own shower clean. Instead of helping his learn how to tackle that task, her product hoard created an intractable situation. He reached out for help which is hero behavior in a dysfunctional family. I feel for them both but she is an adult and a parent.
@@pippadawg7037 it really pissed me off seeing that Olaplex shampoo bottle earlier. Like you have the money to buy nice products for your hair but you're breathing in literal mold? She should be charged if her son has repiratory issues because of this. I blame them both but the mom more. Imo a 17 yr old is not a child. He totally could've looked up how to clean a shower. Not even that, just get a damn scrub brush, shower cleaner and an afternoon. It's common sense and only a few bucks, you don't even need any real resources to do it. A 17 yr old has the means for that even with no job. The more I watch these videos, the less I feel sympathy for these people tbh. I find it an offense to lump them in with people who are actually victims of circumstances outside of their control. If I were her, I would make them clean it up while I help them, but moreso just redirect them. They should be made to face the consequences of these choices, especially the mom. It will be hard but it will also scare them out of living like this in the future again. And then I would make her take her son to the damn hospital and get his lungs tested. It's just a series of intentionally poor choices and a refusal to make any sort of attempt to remedy it. I don't see why somebody like that is a victim of anything much less deserving of support or sympathy. Assistance programs like these should be given to actual victims or at the very least people who tried to do something about it.
Are they also helping people clean for free? In that case, maybe it would be good to just let them be? I'm thinking that it's good if Auri can inspire other people to do this type of things as well!
Yes I reported one. It was titled with your name and played an old video of yours but I realised it wasn't this channel I subscribe to. Reported it but I don't know if TH-cam will take it down. I hope so.
I think that Rob will be okay, no matter what. He knew that this wasn't something that they could fix in their own, and he asked for help. When he moves and lives on his own for the first time, I think seeing this sort of transformation will give him the motivation and confidence to know that no matter how his own place ends up being, he'll be able to manage it on his own, or ask for help again.
This is so sad he was stuck living like this because of his family. Every person on Earth deserves a clean place for themselves. You're an angel for answering his call and stepping in.
@@Notmyname979first off he is legally a child, smartass. second, why cant the mom do that then? why are you blaming the child?? you dont know whats going on in his life. its not about his gender or age or what hes capable of. everyone goes through mental health differently. its not okay to judge other peoples situations without knowing the whole story
@@peesuckler legally he's a minor, fool. But no a 17 yr old is not a child. Also there are different definitions for child. Sometimes people use child to mean someone's kid, which in that case, everyone is someone's child at any age. The way I meant it was a 17 yr old, developmentally is not a little kid (i.e child). It's not unreasonable to expect him to learn how to clean a shower or seek out the knowledge. This is definitely about his age because the whole point is that he is supposed to be more independent and therefore able to do something about his situation than an actual child who wouldn't have the means to do that. So yes age completely changes the outcome of this situation. As for why the onus is on him, it's because the mother is selfish. Simple. She has no incentive to clean that shower, though she has the capability, because she already has her own clean shower at work. The only other thing that would incentivize her to clean that shower would be so her son would have somewhere to shower as well, but clearly she's ok letting him bathe in mold. Why shouldn't somebody like that deserve any blame? The son doesn't have anywhere else to shower, (although he could've used a gym one really) so the onus is on him to actually do something to make that shower useable since his mother won't do it. And yes, I watched the video, so yeah you could say I know the whole story. These are just excuses. Everybody goes through mental struggles in life, but not everybody responds to them the same. That's what matters. The difference between somebody who is successful in life and somebody who isn't is one that stops being a victim of their circumstances and starts taking charge of them instead. In this case, no he is not really a victim. He didn't have to put up with that shower. So no I don't think that's valid. People that are truly victims are ones that actually have no way out, and even then they still try.
@@peesuckler just because you're legally a child doesn't exempt you from being able to clean a shower. The Mum is not a slave either. You live in a house, you share the cleaning.
@@Notmyname979 I shared the responsibility of cleaning the whole house at his age, despite mental health issues and the domestic violence that was going on in our household every day. Like you say, you can choose to be a victim and live a worthless life wallowing in self-pity, or you can choose to be a survivor and so something about it.
I think you're right, the mom is also overwhelmed, but maybe you started a little something. At least she allowed you to take away the real trash. And maybe she can let go of all the boxes and see how much space that gives her. It's a step by step thing and hoarding disorder is not to be taken lightly. It's so good she allowed you to do the hallway!
A lot of people seem to enjoy speaking ill of a 17 year old they have never met. Making assumptions and judging him, even though he called Auri to ask to help out his family. I'm disappointed.😠 And I wonder why these people are even following a channel that's dedicated to helping people in need.
It’s quick & easy to judge in an instant, it takes understanding & time for empathy. Unfortunately not always taught but learned through life experiences. You my friend, sound like a caring person, don’t let others change you❤
I think a lot of those people enjoy this content for all the wrong reasons. It's not just that they lack empathy and common sense. It's that other people's misery make them feel better about themselves.
A lot of people just seem to enjoy speaking ill about anybody who tries to do good. My daughter runs a Cat Rescue and the amount of abuse and trolling that she's been subjected to is awful. Including - "let's have a road trip and burn her house down with the children and cats inside". Why are people so horrible?
@FLHBR have you ever been around a 17 year old boy? Before you judge those that comment, YOU never met them. For all you know, she became exhausted and run down, and out of exasperation told him that she won't clean up after him anymore. You don't know the full story, YOU just want to judge. A lot of 17 year old boys bully their parents and expect their underwear washed and toilet scrubbed. The only one not judging is caring Auri. She is an Angel.
I grew up with a mother with mental health problems and a disease that could kill her at any moment, a father who died when I was 6, and a stepfather who was abusive. I took responsibility for cleaning the house at that age.
This was one of the realest cleans because a child was trying to better their home with a parent not ready to move on and start the healing process. It may seem like nothing much in comparison to the full house cleanings you usually do, but you truly helped a mother a child take a huge step forward into healing. And you gave Rob hope and a glimpse that what’s going on is NOT normal and there’s ways to access help. Thank you so much for all that you do Auri, we love and appreciate you so much 😢❤
Auri...I am concerned that you weren't wearing a mask and breathing in all the mold as you were removing it. You did a beautiful job ckeaning this shower. I simply cannot understand how she took care of her own health, but didn't care about her son's respiratory health. Why? I am SO glad you cleaned that so well for him. He can shower now completely worry-free! It looks beautiful!❤
While I'm am trying to emphathize to mentally sick adults who get their habitat to this condition, but in those households child abuse is so common, including this mom who spoke about her son so low. And I appreciate Auricatariinas intelligence and the fact That she has noticed the way his mom treated him. My heart goes out to those kids who were robbed of their childhood by their mentally sick parents
If they were both using the shower I'd have so much more sympathy for her, because it would be a reflection of just how awful she is treating herself. But having another option and using it when your child does not is something that I can't even get past. Idk what their financial situation is but find a cheap gym he can go to for a clean shower at the very least.

This awful woman will cry out loud for her son when she is sick, bedridden and dying from cancer in some retirement house.
Many of us had our childhoods stolen from us and have mental health issues from it. I regard mine as the worst time of my life, with no father and a mother with mental health problems. She eventually remarried an abusive man that my sister and I had to deal with, along with the daily domestic violence and when that broke up, she married an alcoholic with PTSD. We never expected anyone to clean up after us. We did it ourselves. I spent the first 62 years of my life not only looking after the house from an early age but protecting and looking after my Mum. Not that she appreciated any of it and she made it clear she hated me. But everyone else deserted her, moving so far away that I was the one left with the 300km journey every time she needed help. Her choice to up and move and leave me with the 300km journey, by the way, not mine. My sister is flying in next week to help me clear out Mum's house and settle Mum's husband into full time care. His kids? only concerned with how soon he'll die and they can get their hands on his money. It's us that have enduring guardianship and are looking after him, even after the hell he's put us through, even though we're not beneficiaries of his will. We never let our homes, before and after leaving home, get into this state.
Excellent work in the bathroom! Very thorough! Hopefully "Rob" will be able to maintain his bedroom and bathroom since his mother won't. You really rescued him!
hi Auri! want to thank you for your content ♥ i have a chronic depression and my home became a mess but yours videos inspire me to clean. i try to clean some arias every week and have good progress. hope i can get a vacuum soon to clean faster and easier. its still hard with my depression but i continue. i learned a lot about cleaning from you. thank you very much again ♥
Thanks! I went to the Scrub Daddy HQ and told the woman at the retail store how much I love you. She said you were the just the sweetest person, which of course MUST be true given what you do for others. Good luck in TX!
A 17 year old boy can’t be expected to clean up a life time worth of grime, buildup, and hoarding y’all. It’s crazy to think it’s solely his responsibility and he should “man up”. A job like this would be extremely overwhelming and seem impossible to a regular person, not to mention the mental / emotional load of living this way. Be mindful and kind ❤
A 17 yr old can rebuild a rusted out, rat infested car 🚘 to perfection. One can certainly clean a bathroom only he uses. A healthy part of growing up. Learning responsibility. Now he can keep his 🧽🧼 clean oasis from his Mom’s areas. Hopefully she can make the best of her free, new start. Auri, you have given this family a huge gift 💝 ❤

all it takes is a bottle of bleach and some elbow grease. It didn't get like that over-night. If his mum is showering elsewhere then this is his filth, and his responsibility to do something about. Does he expect his Mum to wipe his backside for him still? Going in there and cleaning it for him teaches him nothing but not to lift a finger and cry until someone does everything for him.
This mother seems to be dragging her son down with her; at 17 he should be able to clean up behind himself. But if the mother undoes anything he tries to accomplish, then he probably has just given up. I hope what you did for them is enough to get them started.
Yep, it's easy to see children brought up in squalor and with a hoarder either become passive sufferers or start to imitate the parent. She should have had serious intervention about her issues years ago. She WILL recreate the filth for her own comfort and basically she does NOT care about her son in any normal way, she cares about self soothing with disgusting bits of garbage. It's like living with a full blown alcoholic. They care about one thing and it's not another human. People like this by middle age are usually lost causes. Rob needs to get out ASAP and never look back. Leave the woman to her precious filth and garbage.
Yeah he was probably never taught to clean and wouldn’t know where to start considering how filthy the bathroom is and how long it took to get to that point
Yeah, if she has hoarding problems, or doesn't like anything moved, that can be a problem. I know someone like that. You want to give up before going in to help them clean, because of all the negotiations, what can and can't be touched, how much time they would you give you, during what part of the day, you have to stop if vacuum cleaner, your movement starts to annoy them, and all that. To try painting walls, or doing something that takes more time, multiple days inside their space, is a serious struggle.
@@heav2582 literally just spray cleaner and then scrub it. It only cost 5 bucks and reading the directions on a bottle. That's not something that needs to be taught. That's common sense smh.
@Aurikatariina Can you do a video one day talking about cleaners, which are alkaline or acid, what products are best for cleaning different things? I'd love to hear more tips from you about cleaning! I'm obsessed with your videos! They have inspired me to clean more!
Best cleaning products: dishsoap (#1), toiletbowl cleaner (acidic) and scouring milk/paste. For dirty ovens/really bad fatty dirt it's oven cleaner (alkaline). Auri also uses chlorine to get rid of coffee build up and I used it in toiletbowls for years until I switched to using mostly toiletbowl bowl cleaner, my mistake was that I didn't let it sit for long enough. She has a few old videos in which she talks more in depth about cleaning products/methods. Never use oven cleaner and toulet bowl cleaner together, never use chlorine with hot water, you can mix all I didn't specify though with each other and those specified, but in the end: just use them after each other. Dish soap is used to get rid of grime and dirt and often times the limescale sits on top of the dirt, so you don't need to take extra care of that. If you have limescale however use toiletbowl cleaner, also in sinks, and well I'm also using it on tiles if the grout is dirty. Works like a charm.
4:53 you are right, that is bad, if she can recognise it's so bad she doesn't want to use it, why would she not clean it for her child? I understand parenting is hard, I have an Autistic teenager, and she does not clean her own mess, so I clean it for her. Whatever the situation, it is not right to expect the boy to get rid of all that mold and dirt by himself since he was probably a small child when it all started, so sad, glad you helped him x
cuz she doesn't care about her child that's why. Her son should teach himself some life skills and get tf outta there. She's supposed to be parenting him but instead it's the other way around. Selfish and incompetent smh.
Absolutely hate on the parent who left! But also you step up. You do not let your child live like this especially while you are not. You’re the parent. You’re the adult.
Ive been watching this channel for awhile and decided to see if the scrub daddy cream would work on my problem shower floor… i have literally tried all the “hacks” and different brushes. Toilet bowl cleaner with bleach got a lot of stuff up but i was left with this layer of grey stuff that would just NOT come up!! I was considering ripping out the tile and replacing it with fiberglass but then I tried the scrub daddy cream with a clorox tub and tile scrubber and it actually came up! So thank you Auri and Scrubby Daddy for saving me hundreds of dollars and time! And the cream doesnt smell bad either.
That was a lot of stuff in that little bathroom. " You might need them some day" Is so antiquated. My mother n law who lived during the depression she's like that, she saves everything.
My kids when they were young and living at home, even from age 7 would thank me all the time for having such a clean home. I worked several jobs, had a useless husband but my house was always immaculate. Even if I got home at 1 AM after a nursing shift I made sure the house was perfect before I went to bed. Laundry was always done, folded. Everything looked so clean. It annoyed hubby( ex now). He said women saw invisible dirt. But the kids would come home from playing at a friends and always mentioned whenever they came home how they appreciated our home. I wanted to at least reduce any stress caused by mess. I guess it was partly my Love language. Kids should be kids, happy, clean and comfortable. I did give them chores, folding clothes sometimes, picking up toys after they were done playing etc. it was the least I felt I could do. Now as grown adults with families they all keep really clean homes. Just do the cleaning as you make the mess. I’m retired now with a lovely hubby. My home is always clean. A bit more cluttered with a few of our collections but not messy. I hope the homeowners you clean for manage to keep it up a bit better than prior. Trust me I have depression and anxiety and it’s harder to get motivated but I still keep up. Thank you for what you do. Love from Texas. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, my kids used to get annoyed at me when I told them off for just making a mess in the kitchen and walking away, leaving it for me or my husband to clean. As they got older all I would have to say is “what’s wrong with this picture “ and they would quickly rectify it. 😂 As they got older they would come home from some friends places and comment how nice it was to live in a clean and clutter free home. ❤🇦🇺🦘🐋
@@laurelldockall2399 I don't remember thanking my mom, either, but she has passed away and I can only "tell" her posthumously. :( I was the youngest of 6 and didn't appreciate how much mom did. Then I had a family (mom passed when I only had one 18mo. old), and as my family grew it was harder and harder to keep things clean and tidy. We had a lot of stress in our house and I fought depression for many years. It was cluttered, but NOT trashy. We kept up with the dishes most days and it never got to looking anything like Auri's cleanups, but it was cluttered with baby things and toys and clothes. I wasn't a hoarder, but people would give us bags and bags of hand me downs and toys, because we had 8 kids and didn't have a lot of money. That just meant that I had a new job of going through all the bags and, especially with depression, that was hard! Our house was small and husband worked a weird schedule and I ended up sleeping on the futon most nights and sometimes it didn't even get folded back into a couch during the day. :( Fast forward 15 years and we've "launched" 5 kids and now the house is tidy and clean and uncluttered. Hey Auri, Don't forget to clean the hose LINE as well as the spray head. Grime builds up in the ridges of the hose line, and it's brown while the rest of the shower head is shiny clean. 😊
I get the space thing! I cleaned my pantry today, which has become a catch-all for stuff I wanted to deal with later. Now I have a clean pantry, two totes of yard sale stuff, two giant bags of things for the homeless shelter, and a bag of clothes for my sisters to go through!
I cleaned my pantry several days ago. I threw away bags of expired food and medicines. I washed all of my Tupperware and Rubbermaid. It looks so good now. It took about eight hours clearing everything out, checking every date up, dumping a ton of stuff.
Auri, we love you and want you to continue helping people in need! I've seen you wearing a mask in some other videos but please make sure you are protecting yourself when dealing with mold and other hazardous conditions, we care about you! :)

Keep up the good fight against dirty homes and sadness. ❤
It sounds like the mom got fed up cleaning up the shower after her perfectly capable son. He was the only one using it and couldn't clean it himself? His mom is not his maid.

His mom needs a kick up the arse. Imagine being so pathetic you let your child live like this, and HE has to beg for help to strangers on the internet.
Poor Rob. By 17, he should have been taught that cleaning, scouring, laundry and folding and putting away and organizing and cooking and cleaning and balanced meals, etc. etc. are EVERY PERSON'S responsibility. By 17, he should be able to learn (via books, internet and valid sources) how to remove old wallpaper, every trace of paste, spackle holes, painter's tape and take some investigating PAINT itself. He is not stuck with baby wallpaper, just a baby mentality. And I will mention that the best rule my folks had was no opposite sex were allowed in our upstairs bedrooms, nor to hang out unless one parent was home. IT DOES NOT MATTER if your parent is the best or worst example, as we all still can learn how to overcome and take pride in our own self and not expect to be paid besides. SO this little gal made a how-to video of CLEANING. Do it daily and weekly as life is not a once and done.

Just today, I parted with about 20 cardboard boxes. I only kept 2 or 3. I do actually need some to give away some old books, but the Amazon boxes were just out of control.
My husband keeps every box along with a lot of crap lol but i don’t understand why can you help me? Boxes are extremely easy to come by so why keep them? Our grocery store has stacks of boxes they put out for people to take so why keep them? No judgement i just don’t understand
Many people are upset, because 17 year old boy didn’t clean a home as his mom. I was more than 30 year old woman, when I moved again with my husband and kids to my parents’ home and my dad was hoarder. I hoped I will be able to make my home beautiful as I was child and it was ma goal. I stucked in that home, because we weren’t able to do anything, my dad didn’t agree to do any renovation to make our lifes easier like fe. clean running water. If I moved something to the trash, it has generated so many conflicts. I felt so overwhelmed and frustrated. I understand that teenager, because maybe mom didn’t let to throw any items and monitored every move of the son, when he tried to make it
why would you move back in with your dad at all, especially if you know he's a hoarder? And why not just move out? How are you lacking this much common sense at 30+ yrs old?
@@Notmyname979 My dad was in bad health condition and my mom wasn't able to care about everything. My parents cared about me entire life, so I wanted to support them, when they needed it. My dad collected things, but there was no dirt and typical trash as we see in Auri's videos. It's important to mention, that I live in Poland and my parents remembered time during communism, when there was no products in shops, items limitation per person and my grandparents tried to survive II War. People didn't throw away things as it could be finally used to or be swapped with something more needed. Political situation was changed by 180 degrees, but people mind not
hoarding is a mental illness and always sad to see or hear. the son never has learned to clean, or cant because of his moms illness. hope they both have a fresh start ^^
His mother has never cleaned and likely becomes abusive if he tries to disturb her precious filth and garbage. Of course he is passive as hell. He needs to get out and learn normal human habits.
reminds me of my mom’s place, can def relate to rob in a way 😬 my case definitely wasn’t as severe as this but i remember being so embarrased as a kid that our house was so filthy, would never bring any friends over. i remember our microwave, the dust and grease on top of it was so ingrained that it took me like 20 minutes to scrape it off when i got to the age where i started cleaning. i remember being only 10 years old the first time i started to clean, i was that young and i still knew that it was ”wrong” slash gross in a way. there was dust everywhere, and it smelt weird, which my friends also pointed out right after they entered in. i hated the smell of our home, it smelt ”old” in a way, prolly the dust particles idk. glad i live on my own now, since my mom never changed and our brand new apartment felt so disgusting after just a few months of living. i couldn’t bare it, i do notice myself being obsessed with cleanliness and being afraid that my house will end up looking like that of my mom’s. it sucks, brings me pointless anxiety, i feel like my place is a mess if i don’t clean it constantly. being surrounded with mess and dirt prolly stressed me out as a kid.
I’m glad the 17 year old reached out for help. That bathroom is terrible. But I hope the boy learns how to keep the bathroom clean from now on. It needs to be done daily… There are spray products that can be used after the shower to make daily clean up easier. It’s too bad the mom isn’t teaching him how to clean herself. The boy needs to learn that because he will be living on his own soon enough.
its clear that the home has always been dirty, and sometimes in these situations, cleaning it would offend the mom. we're all glad the bathroom is better now, but its in no way the fault of the minor
Judging by the feminine products that were in that bathroom the mother played a huge role in cluttering it to beyond being able to clean it and when the opportunity to shower at her work came up she just walked away from the mess she made without a backward glance OR any consideration for her son. 😢 I think the lack of consideration for her 17yo son showed in a Big way was the nursery wallpaper and the tiny bed in his room. I can’t see him wanting to have friends or his girlfriend seeing that his room is a nursery 😢😢😢
You did such a good job trying get their home clean. True if no place for things and person hoarding is not willing to part with items its harder to help.
There are a lot of aspects of modern technology that I think have harmed society more than helped it, but the fact that someone like you can use TH-cam and social media to generate enough income to travel around and clean the homes of people who really need it, for free, is awesome.
let me guess, single mom? Everybody saying this 17 yr old can't clean when toddlers are taught to clean up after themselves smh. Maybe not the whole house, but he could've cleaned that shower and his room.
One stupid one at my work mixed clorine with another cleaning product and died instantly from it. We had told her many times not to mix anything with clorine but she still did. She was so affraid of bacteria that she ignored every advice... Thankfully all patients were asleep in their rooms and no one else than her died. But the entire department smelled horrible and the whole building had to be aired out...
I so enjoy your videos and all the work u put into it to help others..im sorry to hear that people send negative comments about the beds...i don't see them offering to buy them new ones by reaching out to u...

You did a great job with the cleaning of Rob's bathroom and bedroom. The hallway looks good, too. I hope the mom gets rid of some things and starts the cleaning process for her bedroom.
I dated a guy whose family lived like this. Once he moved in with me, he cleaned. I never asked him to, but it was something he had pride in. You’ve given this 17 year old a fresh start, I wish him the best going forward, because this is rough.
Sometimes it's so traumatizing to live in filth I'm sure it makes people EXTRA clean.
@@sunshinenday3439 yup couldnt agree more
@@sunshinenday3439 yeah sounds to me like his family was the problem and he realized he never wanted to live like that again
i was the same way.
Its too much for me to fix when i cant even have right products to clean, i just gave up and do the bare minimum until i get my own place and start fresh with my own money :(
The fact that Rob’s room was mostly just laundry and some dusty old water bottles really makes me think he does his best despite his mom’s hoarding

What does it achieve to speak bad of someone?
@@bummblebee77 You don't know the whole story. The fact that Auri said anything "negative" at all speaks volumes. Mental illness doesn't excuse everything.
Auri did say that it felt strange to her regarding Mum showering at work while the son showered in the mould.
It's true she never says anything usually.
That comment about Rob showering in that filth, while his mom uses a clean shower. NOT COOL 😢. From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for cleaning for Rob❤❤❤.
Seems weird that the mother couldn't see that her son might want to use a clean shower also. I think neither of them could be bothered cleaning it😮 & her easy way out was to use one at work 😕
@ you hit the nail on the head.
True, but he could have cleaned it. It's a capable teen who works and has a gf. He's big enough to clean his own shower. Yes, his mum could have taught him... but now he has it clean. Don't blame the mum for a capable person who works, has a gf and goes to school.
As a mother, I could not shower in a clean place knowing my child is showering in that
@xoselhket, he has a job and goes to school and has a girlfriend, ya, he’s BUSY, he doesn’t have the time
Children deserve a safe and clean home and healthy home cooked meals.

@@Z-ef1rr he could at least clean his room and pick up the dirty laundry, also clean the bathroom
Now that the shower is clean, it is completely reasonable to expect the 17 year old to clean it back up once he has used it. Same for the mom.
At 17 he is not a child. He is quite able to clean a shower.
They deserve empathy.
except that her son is a 17yr old. almost an adult. the dude's fully capable of cleaning up after himself. he just chooses not to. men ☕
Hey Auri I am seeing all these knock off channels popping up in my feeds. I think people are ripping off your videos. I have been reporting them.

I've seen it too and was going to mention it, but this poster beat me to it. It's a pretty crappy thing to do, but I don't know how you'd fix it.
I hope so.
Soap Zombies 🧟🧟♀️!!!! Girl that’s great! You are making a difference in Rob’s life and hopefully his mother too. Bless you ❤
Agreed Brenda!! ❤
He could've cleaned his shower. He's not a child.

A lot of people just seem to enjoy speaking ill about anybody who tries to do good. My daughter runs a Cat Rescue and the amount of abuse and trolling that she's been subjected to is awful.
I feel so bad for this boy. Growing up with parents with unchecked mental health problems is heartbreaking. I hope he gets out of there asap!

I believe the saying goes...." And a child shall lead us". I think this young man will do just fine in life. He asked for help to get the job done.

all it takes is a bottle of bleach and some elbow grease.

Excellent idea!
@@JanaXVI live in the US. What toilet cleaner can I get, that works well, but does not contain bleach? Bleach could trigger an asthma attack.
She does that I each video already
best antimould treatment is neat vinegar. For stains, use eucalyptus oil. Don't use both together.
You destroy the bad evil dirt in people's lives. You're amazing.
Thank you for helping this young man. Young man, you are brave asking for help. 💗💗💗
Excellent comment! 💕💕
I’m pretty slob by, I treat myself like this but I would never treat another person or an animal like that
Auri, thank you for going back to storytelling. I watch half for the cleaning and half listening to you. Very soothing.
Everyone is hating on the mom but nobody is hating on the dad who left them alone.
Absolutely hate on the parent who left! But also you step up. You do not let your child live like this especially while you are not. You’re the parent. You’re the adult.
Rob is an angel for reaching out for help for him and his mom. ❤😇
Rob seems like such a sweetheart and I wish him the best in life
Ive been watching this channel for awhile and decided to see if the scrub daddy cream would work on my problem shower floor… i have literally tried all the “hacks” and different brushes.
The boy deserves respect kindness attention.
Auri cleaning an animal shelter sounds super cute.
@ Amen. I grew up in a clean home and loved it. But I don’t remember Thanking my sweet Mom. I’m going to call her now and say Thanks. ❤️❤️🥰🥰
Whew! Thank you, mom, for all your hard work when I was a child!!
One thing i really appreciate is your tips on how to clean, what products to use and how to combine them in a way thats not dangerous and still efficient. Thank you Auri!! Makes cleaning so much easier for me
Does anyone else play the game of "Europe or USA" every time we watch Auri's videos? 😆 I'm always trying guess based off the brands of items
If she's spraying everything in the room as if there's a floor drain, I assume it's Europe
I guess Norway.. Or maybe Sweden, but the paneling looks norwegian.
This is in Finland. Some of the products have Finnish on them.
Yes! I always do that! 😄This is a Scandinavian country. At first I thought Sweden, but it couldn´t be because of some of the brands. So, Norway?
I do too and you can often tell by the toilet. And what John Harper said below.
Hey Auri, Don't forget to clean the hose LINE as well as the spray head. Grime builds up in the ridges of the hose line, and it's brown while the rest of the shower head is shiny clean. 😊
Отличная работа! Жаль, что не было видео всего дома. Надеюсь, у Роба получится поддерживать чистоту.
Auri you have the kindest soul. I can't believe her mom let her son live like this.
I love your energy for cleaning!
Auri, we love you and want you to continue helping people in need! I've seen you wearing a mask in some other videos but please make sure you are protecting yourself when dealing with mold and other hazardous conditions, we care about you! :)
Hi Auri, I love what you are going by helpling people by cleaning their hot mess. You are brave and an angel❤❤❤! God Bless You!
You’re such a wonderful human being. Respect and love for you.❤
I've enjoyed watching your cleaning videos for quite a while. I love the entire videos versions rather than the partial ones since I'd lose track of which ones went together. You're a ray of sunshine to the sometimes dark world of depressed people and I want to express appreciation and admiration. I wish I had the health and youth to join you. Keep up the good fight against dirty homes and sadness. ❤
Hej Auri, you are right about the shower situation. Kids always go first, family or not, 7 or 17. Kids should always go first.
It sounds like the mom got fed up cleaning up the shower after her perfectly capable son. He was the only one using it and couldn't clean it himself? His mom is not his maid.
@triciac1019 Mold, dust and grime like that takes years to build. If the house was otherwise clean, and the bathroom the only problem, then I'd agree, but this doesn't seem like it.
@@triciac1019And the products in that bathroom were clearly not his... she uses that bathroom as much as he does if not more. Even if she showers at work, she still uses the bathroom to get ready for work, use the toilet etc etc. All the stuff there was hers, not his.
You are doing such an important and hard work!! And the 17 yo sounds like a great young man!! ❤
Dear Auri, I can't thank you enough for what you do for these people, and I also want to thank you for being so motivational. I am at a very low point in my life, and although my appartment is spotless and perfectly tidy, in my mind there is pure chaos. Your videos help me to maintain a little bit of hope, and thanks to you I learned that there's always something that can be done about it. By the way I'm recently seeking a carreer as a cleaner too. Best wishes for you ♥
I love the positive attitude you have! Also, as a microbiologist I am glad to see a fellow mold appreciator. They have an interesting beauty to them!
Poor Rob living with baby wallpaper. I hope this helps his mom.
When I saw that, I wanted to redecorate his room so badly. He would LOVE that!
Yes, would be great if people volunteered to redecorate these spaces after Auri cleans them. The baby wallpaper is sad.
@@KristineSoutherland 🙁 bro if since a child your parents didn't taught you how to clean and shit you wouldn't know how to, there are a lot of possibilities why he can't do that.
WOW something as simple as recycling all the plastics in that bathroom is one bag away. How you went in without a mask blows me away.
Reaching out to animal shelters, women's shelters, ect is a great idea!
Thank you for what you do!
Happy new year to Auri and team, and all Auri fans. Thanks for making a difference and for being such a kind and positive human. 💕
Congrats for your job. You spread so much love, that it is impossible to not touch people and transform them in some way. Well done.
Hopefully the Mom needs to have an intervention for her hoarding. But as you said, maybe they'll all start to purge stuff ....... it clutters your home and your mind. Last year I went on a purge journey, every single room except my husbands office ( not allowed). It is so much easier now 😊. God bless you Auri !! Excellent job as always. ❤❤
Thanks so much for bringing joy to these people I’m happy to know there are people like you
I was expecting to relax while watching this video. I ended up being anxious and feeling so bad for the boy. The fact he was excited to shower sadly tells a lot. You did more than a great job
I hope the family is getting help. ❤❤❤
Great job, Auri 👏 ❤ You definitely helped to make a difficult situation better. And gave some helpful cleaning tips too. You're an awesome young lady ❤️ 💕
I was shocked when you said that the 17 year old had to use that shower but the mom was not that broke my heart poor boy it’s amazing that you can do things like this to help people
Thanks for helping!!! 👍🏻👍🏻
First comment! 🫶🏻
Ur from Ireland too lol I’m from Limerick
@ Up Limerick!
Thank you for this beautiful transformation!!
that was so nice of you to do free cleaning, I wish I could have help you. you are very inspiring and also a lovely person ❤
You approached this situation with understanding and care. Perfect. 👍⭐🙂
You did a fantastic job. I hope Rob can find comfort in the clean spaces you gave him and I hope more that his mother moves passed acknowledging her issues with parting with inanimate objects and works towards detaching herself from her things. If I were her I’d want to do whatever I could to make my son stay for as long as he wants as someone with physical and mental deficiencies. I hope her son is more important than holding onto stuff.
You’re an angel. Thank you for doing this✨
15:38 UGH I STRUGGLE WITH THE BOXES TOO ITS SO TRUE YOU MIGHT NEED THEM SOMEDAY!!! WHEN THEYRE PERFECTLY INTACT AND GOOD BOXES ITS HARD TO GIVE UP. BUT I NEVER END UP USING THEM!!! i actually finally threw away like 5 medium/smaller boxes in my room and moved out a bunch of craft stuff and the difference it made in making my room look so much neater shocked me. life is full of boxes and i trust i will be able to find more if i ever need them…
Just today, I parted with about 20 cardboard boxes.
@@bobjaimelooking for boxes my way hahaha!! I need more containers to give away clothes I don't need.
Auri your work ethic is very admirable, you are an inspiration!
Political situation was changed by 180 degrees, but people mind not
Well done! Rob you deserve a fresh clean house!!
hoarding is a mental illness and always sad to see or hear. the son never has learned to clean, or cant because of his moms illness. hope they both have a fresh start ^^
His mother has never cleaned and likely becomes abusive if he tries to disturb her precious filth and garbage. Of course he is passive as hell. He needs to get out and learn normal human habits.
You're so amazing for helping him. I do hope the mom gets help. Letting your kid live in such conditions is not okay.
Hi Aurikatariina and Everyone!! Happy New Year!! I hope all is doing well. Love that you’re helping people clean their homes keep up the good work!!💜
reminds me of my mom’s place, can def relate to rob in a way 😬 my case definitely wasn’t as severe as this but i remember being so embarrased as a kid that our house was so filthy, would never bring any friends over. i remember our microwave, the dust and grease on top of it was so ingrained that it took me like 20 minutes to scrape it off when i got to the age where i started cleaning. i remember being only 10 years old the first time i started to clean, i was that young and i still knew that it was ”wrong” slash gross in a way. there was dust everywhere, and it smelt weird, which my friends also pointed out right after they entered in. i hated the smell of our home, it smelt ”old” in a way, prolly the dust particles idk. glad i live on my own now, since my mom never changed and our brand new apartment felt so disgusting after just a few months of living. i couldn’t bare it, i do notice myself being obsessed with cleanliness and being afraid that my house will end up looking like that of my mom’s. it sucks, brings me pointless anxiety, i feel like my place is a mess if i don’t clean it constantly. being surrounded with mess and dirt prolly stressed me out as a kid.
I think the lack of consideration for her 17yo son showed in a Big way was the nursery wallpaper and the tiny bed in his room. I can’t see him wanting to have friends or his girlfriend seeing that his room is a nursery 😢😢😢
It’s giving he was cleaning it at a point of time but gave up after the mom would make it back cluttered
Great job! So clean! I am very happy for the boy and his mother!
You did such a good job trying get their home clean. True if no place for things and person hoarding is not willing to part with items its harder to help.
We love all you do Auri 💜
There are a lot of aspects of modern technology that I think have harmed society more than helped it, but the fact that someone like you can use TH-cam and social media to generate enough income to travel around and clean the homes of people who really need it, for free, is awesome.
My kids learned to clean young. Always helped me when I was working 3 jobs.
let me guess, single mom? Everybody saying this 17 yr old can't clean when toddlers are taught to clean up after themselves smh. Maybe not the whole house, but he could've cleaned that shower and his room.
Every time I watch your videos I’m inspired to be kind to people
We love you so much! 🩷
you're a star - thank you for what you do
I know a woman who mixed cleaning products and ended up in the hospital from the fumes. She had permanent damage to her lungs!!!
It's so dangerous. The fumes can make someone pass out. Especially mixing chlorine with ammonia 🚫. I prefer not to mix chemicals.
We love you Auri! ❤
I am hoping for and wishing the best to this mum and son. May this nice and clean house lead to happiness, healing, and a closer bond.
I love you!! ❤ for your tipps and what you are doing, you are amazing and I love your Videos! in am waiting ALWAYS EVERY WEEK! Please do not stop never ever with cleaning and your videos, please 🙏🏻 you helped me so much, even with depression and struggling with and cleaning! love you so much!! ❤

Omg!! This is the best content❤❤❤ again sunday with Auri😍😍 You are ANGEL!!!
You did a great job with the cleaning of Rob's bathroom and bedroom. The hallway looks good, too. I hope the mom gets rid of some things and starts the cleaning process for her bedroom.
It's sad the way people suffer behind closed doors🚪.
