    Hey! I'm literally crying because i'm going through the same rn and ik exactly how it feels. Hormonal acne has taken a big toll on my mental health and everyday i try to not let it consume my life. You've really helped me so much and i love your content.

      🥺it’s so hard! It’s absolutely exhausting and really is something most people don’t truly understand until they’ve gone through it themselves.
      You are not alone!
      Thank you for your message ❤️❤️❤️

    A REAL acne video! Tired of being blamed for the condition of my skin! Also unfortunately you are one of the few people that know about gut health and taking probiotics whilst on antibiotics etc…
    Some people over use the antibiotics because they are misinformed. Glad to hear you were on it for just 3 months.

  • @haleyparvin6835

    This helped me to hear so much. My skin looks almost exactly like yours and it’s been so hard to see it go back and forth and feeling like I’ve tried everything. I also have been hesitant to go on antibiotics because of my care for my gut health….I was just prescribed the antibiotic and you really helped to put everything into perspective. 🙏

      I'm so glad I was able to help in some way! Be sure to find some probiotics that work for you and source some probiotic rich foods! 💖 I'm a month post antibiotics and I'm receiving compliments about my skin!! It's come so far in just 4 months and I have doxy to thank for the inital balancing and then differin for the continued clearing!
      I truly hope your experience with the antibiotics you were prescribed goes well! Wishing you all the best!💖

    Subscribed. I have been battling acne and rosacea flares and finally started doxy. I am also going to start up with tretinoin again once my acne starts to clear. The mental health bit and getting on with your life is what I really needed to hear. Also as a vegan who has a very holistic approach to health, breaking down and taking the doxy was really hard for me too. Please update us with how things go once you stop using doxy ❤️

      Thank you! I'm glad the message in the video resonated with you.🥺
      It's not easy and I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment about your experience!
      I will definitely create a 3 month post antibiotics video (due for September) to determine how my skin has been after the doxy and if I was able to maintain my results. 🤞🏽

    Thank you so much for this video!!! I’ve had a lot of anxious thoughts about starting doxycycline/ my first oral medication for acne and wiping out my gut microbiome. I think you said it perfectly when you said the state of your well-being and mental health takes priority. That made me feel so much better. Thank you!

    If you're reading this and thinking about derma rolling, don't. Use a derma pen or a derma stamp. It's more efficient and less irritating and damaging to the skin, and gets better results imo.

    Doxy and benzoyl peroxide + tret (or adapelene) works wonders for my skin and makes it completely clear but whenever I stop the doxy (doctors make u due to antibiotic resistance etc.) the acne always comes back. I meet my doctor in two days and am going to see what they say about accutane. I think I'm ready to finally try it.

    I haven’t related to someone so well up until now. Your video was so much more realistic and natural compared to other acne videos. Thank you 🙏🏻😊 I’ve been going bare faced more often as I don’t want to let the scars and acne control me and it’s been helping and so has benzoyl peroxide 😂 P.s how long are you allowed to stay on the antibiotics ?

    • @Kaycia
      @Kaycia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s so lovely to hear! A course of antibiotics can last 4-6 months. Mine was just over 3 months. “Allowed” will vary, antibiotics for acne may depend on the dosage and the severity of the acne - so everyone is different, but generally 6 months + is likely to cause more damage (higher antibiotic resistance risk).
      People on antibiotics for much much longer is not unheard of though, but obviously not the direction to go!!
      All the best with your skin and not letting it dictate your life! Thank you for leaving me a message. ❤️✨

    I’ve started the exact same routine as you! Doxy + Differin + 5% BP. Would you be able to explain how you did your micro needling at home and what mm you used :) your results are so inspiring! I have hope for my skin now (although I do realise this routine may affect me differently to yourself) xx

    • @Kaycia
      @Kaycia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I really hope these do great things for your skin.
      As a warning I’d recommend getting microneedling at the clinic and at home can be risky. I’m not a doctor so take what I say with a pinch of salt. I’m assuming you’re a grown girl and can make your own sensible choices.
      But to keep it real with you, for microneedling I used a pen and maxed at 1mm but not over any active acne! Alternating between 0.5-1mm. I focused on my cheeks when my acne had gone - as in the surface was smooth and had no bumps to touch.
      For stubborn marks I would stamp with the pen on these areas.
      I did not numb my face but others do. It will hurt. It will feel tight and dry/sore like a sunburn when it is completed. You may also peel a little over the next few days.
      The redness should diminish after 24-48hrs.
      I still had spots on my jawline so I avoided this unless when it came to microneedle it was smooth.
      I did microneedling every 4-6 weeks. Doxy gave me the best chance as it took down the active acne and allowed me to do it.
      Big point to make is that I avoided actives for 3-5 days before microneedling.
      Don’t microneedle a day after you’ve been using differing or BP. You can take the Doxy as usual.
      I may get some pinpoint bleeding but my goal is never to bleed.
      I only used hyaluronic acid when doing it. Only moisturiser the day after, avoided makeup and cleansing (just used water).
      I did my treatments at night to give my skin the 8 hrs overnight to recover.
      I rarely talk about microneedling at home because I know it’s controversial but it’s also very expensive to get done professionally.
      Please be careful and read what procedure would take place if you were to get it done in the clinic and replicate that as best you can. 💓
      Stay safe and best of luck xx

    Wow! I can't believe I found someone with the exact same journey as me. I have 3 days left until I stop taking doxycycline. I also use adapalene though I use it every 3 days only because my face can't tolerate even using it every other day. I have microneedling tools at home, but I don't know if I can do the procedure while using retinoids. Can you pls pls share your routine when you had your face microneedled? Did you stop using retinoids before and after microneedling? If so, how long?
    I enjoyed your video so much btw. I'm an instant subscriber! I wish all the best for your skin. We got this!!!

    • @Kaycia
      @Kaycia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much ❤️ with the microneedling I stop retinoids and actives for a week, if I can get away with it I’ll go 3 days. Safest bet is one week though.
      I microneedle with Hyaluronic acid only. I use a moisturiser after. No acids or serums, mainly because they will be penetrating deeper into the skin and I want to avoid doing more damage than good.
      I microneedle ever 4-6 weeks and usually use my retinoid/benzoyl peroxide a few days after but it really depends how my skin feels. For the first 3 days after microneedling I only use a gentle cleanser (with no acids etc) a moisturiser and spf.
      Thanks for leaving a comment 💓💕

    • @Kaycia

      Hello, yes differin + azelaic acid can definitely help with acne marks, if you are referring to indented scars, that's a little tricky but retinoids can help with that to an extent. For the marks it can help for sure, it is a slow process though!

    Hey plz reply. Do we have to change our diet to get clear skin while on doxycycline. Can we get the results even if we eat sugar etc?

    • @Kaycia
      @Kaycia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Diet and acne have links but like I said in the video every body and lifestyles are different. Life is all about balance, try to maintain a healthy balanced diet. At the end of the day stressing about your diet is also not going to be ideal for your skin.
      However, taking some form of probiotics whilst on doxy is beneficial for the gut. If you are able to get some fermented foods and natural yogurts in to this will help encourage good bacteria in the gut to thrive.
