@qwyzl yes yes he did. After "losing" to the guy from Georgia (or Texas depending on the source) He either gives him a golden fiddle or (again depending on the source you're using) steals his bow. (I have heard two versions of this story. One version is set in Savannah Georgia, and the other is set somewhere in Texas) In the Georgia one, Johnny walks away with a golden fiddle, and he makes NO ATTEMPT at all to hide his prize either. Unfortunately for Johnny, he just happens to live in one of the poorer sections of the city. As a result, after he goes around flashing his golden prize, a group of people who aren't exactly fond of him, to begin with, decide to "get rid of him" and claim his prize in the process which they agree to then sell and split the money as equally as possible. So making a long story short they kill him at the first opportunity and steal the golden fiddle. But then later when they have sold the fiddle one of the group decides he's been shorted and kills the other 2, only to be later killed himself in an accident. So in that version, you can kinda argue that satan ends up getting 4 souls total rather than just Johnny. In the Texas version, the deal they make is the winner is the one who charms the most rattlesnakes. They play for several hours, and again Johnny wins but this time the devil gets his due far sooner than he does in the Georgia version. Despite having lost Satan screws, Johnny, over by swiping his fiddle bow as he leaves which in turn ends with Johnny being left in a literal snake pit with no real means of escape.

Wrath should be obvious with the plagues, pride in that God views itself as above everything, gluttony in its want for all to worship it and only it, and envy being a jealous god and wanting all the Pagan Gods destroyed and no longer even acknowledged.

while I love the mythology surrounding many deities I think it is important to look at the historical framing of the devil. Many "satanic" symbols and demons were actually pagan gods. The church in it's spread for power stole and corrupted pagan deities, rituals, and holidays. They gaslighted everyone saying it was satans work and not the church who stole and copied from the pagans. They turned Pan, Cernunous, and the green man into "Satan". There is a historical side to the devil and the church's hunger to indoctrinate pagan peoples.
True, except Satan was already an extremely muddled and convoluted mix of other religious entities, before the Church ever even got power. Also, I wouldn't use the word corrupted, because it started as an attempt to meet on a middle ground. A way to unify the people under one deity. Around the time when the church started throwing it's weight and persecuting nonbelievers, the Bible had already been in its current state for hundreds of years.

No? Angels aren't the same as us. The angels in God's presence worship and praise God of their own free will, not because they are forced to do so. Doesn't really match with the bible and there's a flaw in the logic. Sin is believed to have entered after they ate the fruit. Why put something he didn't want people to do in their face? He didn't if you're referring to the fruit of knowledge. It was just in the general area, he never tempted them. Why set up rules contrary to instinct? Surprised the video didn't talk about how Lucifer was a Roman star deity, son of the goddess Aurora. In Greek myth, he was Eosphorus, son of Eos the titaness. I think this is interesting.. as the King James Bible adopted the name Lucifer when they translated the bible. And later for Lucifer / Satan the church borrowed the imagery of a totally different greek god.. Pan...in their depictions of a goat-legged devil. Witches and pagans worship a Horned God, so the use of Pans imagery is equal parts a propaganda campaign to fight paganism, and another chapter in Christianity's ongoing appropriation of pagan culture.

Questioning God is not a bad thing, we wouldnt have been made intensely curious if being curious was a bad thing. Babies are naturally curious with no sense of boundaries for their physical or emotional safety. Curiosity inspires us to learn and make connections with Nature and each other. (And if you lose your ability to be curious you get severely depressed and hopeless.) So I think the point of the archetype of Lucifer/Satan is that questioning someone (or everything!) isnt a bad thing, but questioning someone while (ironically and without self awareness) assuming you know better than the person youre questioning is a dick move. Thats what pride is, assuming you know better than anyone even though youre the one asking questions. Thats where the humility of Jesus, comes in as an antithesis I think. Jesus doubts himself and God a few times, he questions God as he prays a few times before his death if he really has to go through with it. But the difference is Jesus never loses his curiosity and open minded and open heartedness. He never loses his empathy or wits or sense of community or sense of allowing people to make mistakes and not be given shit for the rest of their life over it. Its ok to be sad or angry or confused about life but dont let it drag you down (or "fall") so far that you lose your will to connect with anyone anymore and end up hurting people becuz what decisions you do make now lack empathy or respect for others choices. In the Bible, Satan doesn't really have a plan beyond just questioning God, spreading lies, and wanting humanity to die while hes top dog. He hates humanity but also wants to be our God?? That doesnt make sense but its typical narcissist thinking, "I hate you and dont understand you but I also know better than you and will attack you but I have no more answers than you actually do about Life, but I'll never let you know that because I dont want to feel as vulnerable as you are because then some asshole like me might come attack me the way Im attacking you and I wouldnt know how to handle that". A person like this will never admit hes not the person who knows everything because hes too prideful to ever admit that to anyone, let alone people he despises and resents just for existing. Prideful people know deep down they dont know anything except how to pretend that theyre in charge somehow because a lack of knowledge makes them feel powerless and that means being humble and vulnerable. But they dont realize that being intelligent is not the only way to connect with others and get respect. They cant stand being vulnerable though, its too scary for them. So they lie about their entire persona to save face. And I think thats why the devil is called The Father of Lies. Distorting truth is a lot more abusive, damaging and insidious than most people realize and the effects of not validating truth is often more damaging than a specific one time abuse to your body. I like how Gaiman wrote Lucifer in Sandman: Seasons of the Mist. Ruling a rotten kingdom since time began can really be boring and tiring, sometimes you could just have the desire to run a Bar and have fun mingling with other entities.
In the Lucifer series it's revealed that offering Lucifer rulership of Hell is how the war in heaven was stopped, the other angels didn't actually defeat him in battle and didn't know that God cut Lucifer a deal. However Lucifer discovered that it was just another trap to get him out of God's way for a while which is why he eventually finds a way to abandon it and goes on to much bigger things. It's also shown later (much to Michael's chagrin) that God deliberately made Lucifer rebellious as part of the grand plan, this is seen when just after creation and God gives his first order the other archangels are silent while Lucifer's first words are "why should I?"
Maybe Lucifer is neither good or evil. But the grey areas between the light and dark. He is once an angel to then casted into the darkness. He’s the bridge from good and evil. And so when maybe Lucifer cursed eve, Lucifer rather gave them the knowledge he has, questioning the authority, but not exactly, because was an angel. Today in humans there’s a contrast between those who worship god, those who don’t, and those in between. Lucifer is us, the lost, the questioning. Because like Lucifer we were once gods favorite creation. We as humans are Lucifer, the good and bad, the grey areas between yin and yang.

Humans reproduce like rabbits, so many of us need to be put down. We do not have natural predators, so much more of us need to be predators. Predators among sheep. What is important is not good, neither is evil per se. It's the balance between the two. Just like life and death need to be equal, which sadly is not the case in todays day and age. We are disgustingly obsessed with life, thus we prevent people from dying even if those people want to. (for example suicide) And on the other sins, I do not hate them either except betrayal. But that is more of a personal matter, which I cannot let go off. You may ask why I do not hate them. Well my friend that is because suffering is equally important. Without suffering, the only truly worthy longterm goal cannot be pursuit. And that goal is the pursuit of wisdom. For without suffering, how should one obtain wisdom? Not at all is the answer. So to conclude, no, I do not hate evil actions for they are simply necessary.

@@gianb3952 in my opinion it isn't justified because the devil and god both are all powerful, they know humans are weak and if god really was "all knowing" then he would prevent us from causing our own torture, so is a third of a lifetime of sin really worth an eternity of torture? (this is really my opinion btw) I highly doubt that god is omnipotent, and I highly doubt he is perfect, he punished his best angel for wanting change and simply questioning existence, which led to that angel becoming one of the worst monsters in the universe, and all the humans blamed everything on him, when he is nowhere near perfect either. He can't just implant sinful ideas in human minds, well, maybe he can, but a lot of things aren't even his fault, like death. He was once NOT a monster, before his transformation and before his pride took over him. However, he was too human, even for god. God only spoils you if you follow his orders, and if you don't, I wish I could say I could pray for you. We just "trust" him because we fear him, he wouldn't be so popular if he was a human, and when we die we are "rewarded", at least we don't get eternal torment at the hands of a equally tormented soul who's beauty turned into hatred, but we get to worship and praise a being we know virtually nothing about for eternity, what other option do we have? This is exactly why I want to know Lucifer's side of the story. In the phone game "Obey Me; One Master to Rule Them All," we're told that the war was actually because of Lucifer's little sister Lilith falling in love with a human being and breaking a bunch of rules just to be with him. Whether that's actually Lucifer's side of the story or not, it actually makes more sense to me then God's side of the story from the Bible. I was raised as a Christian, but I'm a witch instead.
Seminarian here, and I would like to say this is an absolutely well done presentation. The use of Scripture and literature was well-balanced. Though the grotesque goat-likeness of Satan is something that is not in Scripture but came out of popular culture over the centuries. The first theorized beginning of the goat imagery may have come from Matthew 25 where the sheep are good and goats are bad. Later on, mostly likely during the Renaissance where classical Greek culture has arrived in the European consciousness, the imagery of Pan and the association of bad goats blended, causing the images of Satan to have goat-like features. The webbed wing is an association to his nickname as a dragon, while the pitchfork is still something I have no idea of its origins. In all of Scripture, even after his fall, Satan has never lost his looks especially when in the New Testament the Apostle Paul warns that Satan will appear as an “angel of light” to lead the followers astray with doctrine that is pleasing to the ears. Seeing as how you mentioned Paradise Lost, I recommend The Screwtape Letters. The main character may not be Satan but he is the boss of the main character Screwtape. Either God is the grand architect who is all powerful and can abolish evil and suffering, or he isn't and/or can't. If you believe the former, then Lucifer is as designed and does not deserve any more hatred as he does praise. Perhaps good and evil are intertwined as that of black and white. I actually find.....solace? Comfort? Solidarity? With Milton's presentation of Lucifer and God. It kind of reminds me of my own relationship with my father. He was always present, but I was the one raising myself. I have grown curious, and find myself questioning everything, and I mean everything. Including, ironically, why my father should be the one in charge of me when I was the one who built myself. I guess I even find familiarity in Lucifer's flaws, especially pride. I'm working on a fanfic that takes a different view on demons. It's technically a creepypasta AU, but eh. Lucifer rioted against the Heaven to revenge Lilith, who was originally an angel, but they chopped off her wings and used her as Adam's first wife. When she refused to listen to him, they've thrown her out of Paradise, thus turning her into the firts demon ever.

I never liked the angels being drawn or painted looking like humans. The angels features were terrifying and scary looking. The only human looking angel was Lucifer, thus him being the more beautiful one. But I never saw lucifer as being evil just curious, and never saw him as the devil or satan either, Just a fallen angel.
ultra inferno I recalled reading a debate that Lucifer disagreed with God’s plans with the humankind and wanted them to have their own wills, that he genuinely did care about them that he was willing to accept the consequences of their actions so they’ll have their own freedom away from God’s control. I thought that was interesting, tbh. Of course there’s debates on whether if Lucifer and Satan are the same person or not. Bible is, as you said, very brutal and it’s hard for me personally to truly believe in most of stories it shared. It’s written and translated by men who have their own takes on what occurred, imho, so there’s no way to truly tell what is Truth and what isn’t. My opinions aside, if you can find your own peace in a belief, then that’s what matter the most to you. You as in the general you, of course. I do not and will not find any peace with Christianity or any of its branches, but I found my own place elsewhere. I’ll do no harm to any individual and allow them to live their own lives as long as they harm none and I’ll live mine. That’s my own happiness. Unfortunately, there’s many who couldn’t respect those whose thinkings process doesn’t align side theirs. Satan's story can be seen two ways; a cautionary tale of pride, or a relatable story about rebellion and questioning everything around you. I was brought up to believe that Satan was bad and wanted the humans to not have free will. Never have I heard a story of Satan wanting the humans to be perfect and God wanting them to be imperfect; God would've happily just let Adam and Eve eat the magic fruit, but no, he wasn't happy when they sinned; he banished them from the garden.

I think the tv show casts a remarkable light on a side of the myth no one really ever considers, probably why it came under so much criticism from those of a religious bent, claiming it wasn't right that Lucifer be cast in a sympathetic light. The way he gets so mad when people blame him for the evil in the world when really it's just humanity being humanity and needing someone, something, else to blame. That he is not responsible for the bad we do, he is just working in Hell as the Warden, that's it. I can easily see his side of that.

It’s also believed by some that the serpent was Lilith, Who some think to be the actual first woman who was equal to Adam and would not submit to him. That’s another story though.
Lucifer loved humanity and still does. This presentation of the story is heavily religiously based rather than historic (admittedly, difficult as that would be). Those who work with Lucifer and hold no bias or religious view to support/promote all agree that Lucifer is humanity's best friend.
I don't think so tbh. I felt that at first he thought he would be a batter leader for the Angels but after he was betrayed by Micheal and cast into Hell, I think he became resentful and twisted. His goal stopped being to be worshiped, now he wants to burn creation to the ground. He basically became a nutcase. If free will is really a thing then theoretically he has a chance of redemption but idk fam.
I used to be heavily religious being raised a strict Christian but as I thought more and more about I began to see Lucifer as more tragic and a champion of humanity. Lucifer technically gave us free will by giving us knowledge.

By today's standard absolutely but at the time the it wasn't as authoritarian as some of its contemptories. For example when Nathan chastises King David about his affair with bathsheba there's almost a sense of separation of powers that is to say the king does not have authority over the prophets. Contrast that to other cultures where the king was viewed as a god. Yale courses on TH-cam has a whole lecture series on the old testament it's worth a watch

I was raised devout Irish Catholic. However, I read the Bible, The Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost before I started high-school. I quickly concluded that the Bible was full of contradictions and at times was rather vague at best. Danté painted an interesting story (also a rather difficult read). In some instances he seemed to show great insight and wisdom (for instance, the presence of obviously corrupt Christians within hell). In other instances he was obviously doing his best to portray this or that in a comedic fashion. Paradise lost on the other hand, really resonated with me. I found Milton's sympathetic portrait of Lucifer not only relatable but more realistic than other portrails. Although Lucifer is oftentimes portrayed as the source of all evil, that never made sense to me. If God is all knowing, then he knew the future actions of Lucifer which lead to his "fall". So doesn't that make God the source of all evil? Not to mention, if he knew that he would cast Lucifer from heaven for rebellion; why was Lucifer his favorite creation? Call me a heretic or whatever you like, but I find Lucifer to be a victim of God's "ultimate plan".
You're forgetting that god never did anything to force or even push Lucifer into doing anything that caused him to fall. He chose all that on his own. Can you at least point out the contradictions held within the bible? So far you've only mentioned glorified fan fiction.

@qwyzl yes yes he did. After "losing" to the guy from Georgia (or Texas depending on the source) He either gives him a golden fiddle or (again depending on the source you're using) steals his bow. (I have heard two versions of this story. One version is set in Savannah Georgia, and the other is set somewhere in Texas)
In the Georgia one, Johnny walks away with a golden fiddle, and he makes NO ATTEMPT at all to hide his prize either. Unfortunately for Johnny, he just happens to live in one of the poorer sections of the city. As a result, after he goes around flashing his golden prize, a group of people who aren't exactly fond of him, to begin with, decide to "get rid of him" and claim his prize in the process which they agree to then sell and split the money as equally as possible. So making a long story short they kill him at the first opportunity and steal the golden fiddle. But then later when they have sold the fiddle one of the group decides he's been shorted and kills the other 2, only to be later killed himself in an accident. So in that version, you can kinda argue that satan ends up getting 4 souls total rather than just Johnny.
In the Texas version, the deal they make is the winner is the one who charms the most rattlesnakes. They play for several hours, and again Johnny wins but this time the devil gets his due far sooner than he does in the Georgia version. Despite having lost Satan screws, Johnny, over by swiping his fiddle bow as he leaves which in turn ends with Johnny being left in a literal snake pit with no real means of escape.

while I love the mythology surrounding many deities I think it is important to look at the historical framing of the devil. Many "satanic" symbols and demons were actually pagan gods. The church in it's spread for power stole and corrupted pagan deities, rituals, and holidays. They gaslighted everyone saying it was satans work and not the church who stole and copied from the pagans. They turned Pan, Cernunous, and the green man into "Satan".

Surprised the video didn't talk about how Lucifer was a Roman star deity, son of the goddess Aurora. In Greek myth, he was Eosphorus, son of Eos the titaness. I think this is interesting.. as the King James Bible adopted the name Lucifer when they translated the bible.
And later for Lucifer / Satan the church borrowed the imagery of a totally different greek god.. Pan...in their depictions of a goat-legged devil. Questioning God is not a bad thing, we wouldnt have been made intensely curious if being curious was a bad thing. Babies are naturally curious with no sense of boundaries for their physical or emotional safety. Curiosity inspires us to learn and make connections with Nature and each other. (And if you lose your ability to be curious you get severely depressed and hopeless.)
So I think the point of the archetype of Lucifer/Satan is that questioning someone (or everything!) isnt a bad thing, but questioning someone while (ironically and without self awareness) assuming you know better than the person youre questioning is a dick move. Thats what pride is, assuming you know better than anyone even though youre the one asking questions. Thats where the humility of Jesus, comes in as an antithesis I think. Jesus doubts himself and God a few times, he questions God as he prays a few times before his death if he really has to go through with it. But the difference is Jesus never loses his curiosity and open minded and open heartedness. He never loses his empathy or wits or sense of community or sense of allowing people to make mistakes and not be given shit for the rest of their life over it. Its ok to be sad or angry or confused about life but dont let it drag you down (or "fall") so far that you lose your will to connect with anyone anymore and end up hurting people becuz what decisions you do make now lack empathy or respect for others choices.
In the Bible, Satan doesn't really have a plan beyond just questioning God, spreading lies, and wanting humanity to die while hes top dog. He hates humanity but also wants to be our God?? That doesnt make sense but its typical narcissist thinking, "I hate you and dont understand you but I also know better than you and will attack you but I have no more answers than you actually do about Life, but I'll never let you know that because I dont want to feel as vulnerable as you are because then some asshole like me might come attack me the way Im attacking you and I wouldnt know how to handle that". A person like this will never admit hes not the person who knows everything because hes too prideful to ever admit that to anyone, let alone people he despises and resents just for existing. Prideful people know deep down they dont know anything except how to pretend that theyre in charge somehow because a lack of knowledge makes them feel powerless and that means being humble and vulnerable. But they dont realize that being intelligent is not the only way to connect with others and get respect. They cant stand being vulnerable though, its too scary for them. So they lie about their entire persona to save face. And I think thats why the devil is called The Father of Lies. Distorting truth is a lot more abusive, damaging and insidious than most people realize and the effects of not validating truth is often more damaging than a specific one time abuse to your body. Lies can fuck shit up for generations really badly for everyone.

In the Lucifer series it's revealed that offering Lucifer rulership of Hell is how the war in heaven was stopped, the other angels didn't actually defeat him in battle and didn't know that God cut Lucifer a deal. However Lucifer discovered that it was just another trap to get him out of God's way for a while which is why he eventually finds a way to abandon it and goes on to much bigger things. It's also shown later (much to Michael's chagrin) that God deliberately made Lucifer rebellious as part of the grand plan, this is seen when just after creation and God gives his first order the other archangels are silent while Lucifer's first words are "why should I?"

Maybe Lucifer is neither good or evil. But the grey areas between the light and dark. He is once an angel to then casted into the darkness. He’s the bridge from good and evil. And so when maybe Lucifer cursed eve, Lucifer rather gave them the knowledge he has, questioning the authority, but not exactly, because was an angel. Today in humans there’s a contrast between those who worship god, those who don’t, and those in between. Lucifer is us, the lost, the questioning. Humans reproduce like rabbits, so many of us need to be put down. We do not have natural predators, so much more of us need to be predators. Predators among sheep. This is exactly why I want to know Lucifer's side of the story. In the phone game "Obey Me; One Master to Rule Them All," we're told that the war was actually because of Lucifer's little sister Lilith falling in love with a human being and breaking a bunch of rules just to be with him. Whether that's actually Lucifer's side of the story or not, it actually makes more sense to me then God's side of the story from the Bible. I was raised as a Christian, but I'm a witch instead.
Seminarian here, and I would like to say this is an absolutely well done presentation. The use of Scripture and literature was well-balanced. Though the grotesque goat-likeness of Satan is something that is not in Scripture but came out of popular culture over the centuries. The first theorized beginning of the goat imagery may have come from Matthew 25 where the sheep are good and goats are bad. Later on, mostly likely during the Renaissance where classical Greek culture has arrived in the European consciousness, the imagery of Pan and the association of bad goats blended, causing the images of Satan to have goat-like features. The webbed wing is an association to his nickname as a dragon, while the pitchfork is still something I have no idea of its origins. In all of Scripture, even after his fall, Satan has never lost his looks especially when in the New Testament the Apostle Paul warns that Satan will appear as an “angel of light” to lead the followers astray with doctrine that is pleasing to the ears. Seeing as how you mentioned Paradise Lost, I recommend The Screwtape Letters. The main character may not be Satan but he is the boss of the main character Screwtape. I actually find.....solace? Comfort? Solidarity? With Milton's presentation of Lucifer and God. It kind of reminds me of my own relationship with my father. He was always present, but I was the one raising myself. I have grown curious, and find myself questioning everything, and I mean everything. I'm working on a fanfic that takes a different view on demons. It's technically a creepypasta AU, but eh. Lucifer rioted against the Heaven to revenge Lilith, who was originally an angel, but they chopped off her wings and used her as Adam's first wife. When she refused to listen to him, they've thrown her out of Paradise, thus turning her into the firts demon ever.

I never liked the angels being drawn or painted looking like humans. The angels features were terrifying and scary looking. The only human looking angel was Lucifer, thus him being the more beautiful one. But I never saw lucifer as being evil just curious, and never saw him as the devil or satan either, Just a fallen angel.
ultra inferno I recalled reading a debate that Lucifer disagreed with God’s plans with the humankind and wanted them to have their own wills, that he genuinely did care about them that he was willing to accept the consequences of their actions so they’ll have their own freedom away from God’s control. Bible is, as you said, very brutal and it’s hard for me personally to truly believe in most of stories it shared. It’s written and translated by men who have their own takes on what occurred, imho, so there’s no way to truly tell what is Truth and what isn’t.
My opinions aside, if you can find your own peace in a belief, then that’s what matter the most to you. You as in the general you, of course. I do not and will not find any peace with Christianity or any of its branches, but I found my own place elsewhere. I’ll do no harm to any individual and allow them to live their own lives as long as they harm none and I’ll live mine. That’s my own happiness. Unfortunately, there’s many who couldn’t respect those whose thinkings process doesn’t align side theirs.

Well Lucifer pretty much have us free will by giving us knowledge.
Satan's story can be seen two ways; a cautionary tale of pride, or a relatable story about rebellion and questioning everything around you. I was brought up to believe that Satan was bad and wanted the humans to not have free will. Never have I heard a story of Satan wanting the humans to be perfect and God wanting them to be imperfect; God would've happily just let Adam and Eve eat the magic fruit, but no, he wasn't happy when they sinned; he banished them from the garden.

I think the tv show casts a remarkable light on a side of the myth no one really ever considers, probably why it came under so much criticism from those of a religious bent, claiming it wasn't right that Lucifer be cast in a sympathetic light. The way he gets so mad when people blame him for the evil in the world when really it's just humanity being humanity and needing someone, something, else to blame. That he is not responsible for the bad we do, he is just working in Hell as the Warden, that's it. I can easily see his side of that.

Lucifer loved humanity and still does. This presentation of the story is heavily religiously based rather than historic (admittedly, difficult as that would be). Those who work with Lucifer and hold no bias or religious view to support/promote all agree that Lucifer is humanity's best friend.
I don't think so tbh. I felt that at first he thought he would be a batter leader for the Angels but after he was betrayed by Micheal and cast into Hell, I think he became resentful and twisted. His goal stopped being to be worshiped, now he wants to burn creation to the ground. He basically became a nutcase. By today's standard absolutely but at the time the it wasn't as authoritarian as some of its contemptories. For example when Nathan chastises King David about his affair with bathsheba there's almost a sense of separation of powers that is to say the king does not have authority over the prophets. Contrast that to other cultures where the king was viewed as a god.

While I don't think that christian mythology is 100% fact based, I do think that there are higher powers and planes of existence. Maybe thats what inspired all of the human religions. I was raised devout Irish Catholic. However, I read the Bible, The Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost before I started high-school. I quickly concluded that the Bible was full of contradictions and at times was rather vague at best. Danté painted an interesting story (also a rather difficult read). In some instances he seemed to show great insight and wisdom (for instance, the presence of obviously corrupt Christians within hell). In other instances he was obviously doing his best to portray this or that in a comedic fashion. Paradise lost on the other hand, really resonated with me. I found Milton's sympathetic portrait of Lucifer not only relatable but more realistic than other portrails. Although Lucifer is oftentimes portrayed as the source of all evil, that never made sense to me. If God is all knowing, then he knew the future actions of Lucifer which lead to his "fall". So doesn't that make God the source of all evil? Not to mention, if he knew that he would cast Lucifer from heaven for rebellion; why was Lucifer his favorite creation? Call me a heretic or whatever you like, but I find Lucifer to be a victim of God's "ultimate plan".

You're forgetting that god never did anything to force or even push Lucifer into doing anything that caused him to fall. He chose all that on his own.
Can you at least point out the contradictions held within the bible? So far you've only mentioned glorified fan fiction.

If you think about it, this story is very similar to the story of moses and Egypt. 2 brothers who were once very close begin to fight due to the pride of a being higher than others and even god.
