For all of you thinking that 70 generations seem like a really short time considering the average human lifespan you are not taking into consideration the average lifespan at that time according to biblical records. During the time of Enoch, the average lifespan was closer to 900 years old. Enoch was taken to heaven without dying when he was 365 years old. 900 years * 70 generations = 63,000 years

We have be very careful with how we think about Enoch and other apocryphal books for the sake of orthodoxy in general. But I like to think that God deliberately didn't directly inspire the book of Enoch, or move in such a way throughout history to preserve it so that we could be confident in its absolute inerrancy or authenticity (like He did with the canon of scripture) because He clearly wants Lucifer to think that they're winning. And it's debatable whether or not the forces of darkness could make the strides of progress they are making in the world if the servants of God knew the full scope of what we are dealing with. That he did it to protect us from knowledge that we literally can't handle is a compelling idea too though. Perhaps it's a bit of both.
It's also interesting to note that it's been a rather compelling plot of at least a few movies that a group of beings survived some sort of apocalyptic war, and were so traumatized by it that they developed technology to make them forget. The name escapes me at the moment, but a movie comes to mind where earth is apparently being invaded by aliens, but as the movie goes on you, you find out that the "invaders" are actually humans trying to return to earth after being driven from the planet by the humanoids they created. The war was so costly and traumatizing for the humanoids who remained that they erased their memories to make it easier to build a new life for themselves.
Similarly, the very concept of Demons siring children with humans has been something Hollywood has been obsessed with for a long time. Indicative in everything from horror movies like Rosemary's Baby to Arnold Schwarzenegger shoot-em-up movies like End of Days.

I get goosebumps every time I read Enoch and he begins the book by saying that he writes not for his contemporaries or even their great grandchildren but for a remote generation far in a future world unrecognizable by those of his time (though I think it’s mighty obvious that there was much higher tech in his time on earth than in ours). It’s a shame morons took it out of most Bibles. I mean my God, Christ Himself quotes from the Book of Enoch more than all other books of the Torah combined. @ron webber Lucifer isn't in Genesis. Lucifer, the serpent, satan, the dragon were all distinct entities originally, its only later belief that mashed them together into a single entity. Satan was a position, a servant of God who tempted and tested men, the serpent was just a snake, Lucifer is commonly thought by biblical scholars to refer to a king and Revelations is a political allegory of the time, one of many such works.
Add in a firey afterlife from Greek mythology to punish sinners, Tartarus, to become Hell and some dualism commonly thought to come from Zoroastrianism and we end up with the Devil, the fallen angel Lucifer who becomes Satan and opposed God. Lots of references to his component parts predate this belief so have to be read with that in mind.
Djinn are from Islam where the mythology has changed again, Shaitan is a djinn not an angel but largely fills a similar role to the Christian Devil, although I don't believe he rules over he'll.

Another reason why I think I’m more inclined to believe in the legitimacy of Enoch 1&2 is because it explains a lot of unanswered questions in the Old Testament. Especially, the questions surrounding The Great Flood. Although, there is one question that bothers me, which is the fact that the nephilims (Angel offsprings) still existed after it.
I also understand why the book of Enoch became non-canonical - these sons of God who have fallen from grace were not going to be allowed full cameos in God’s Holy book and rightly so. But yeah, if anyone has any ideas as to how the giants or descendants of them managed to exist after the flood, I’d appreciate it. The flood happened in Genesis but they are subsequently mentioned again in Numbers 13:33
And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”
    And
    Deuteronomy 3:11
(For only Og the king of Bashan was left of the remnant of the Rephaim. Behold, his bed was a bed of iron. Is it not in Rabbah of the Ammonites? Nine cubits was its length, and four cubits its breadth, according to the common cubit.)
    And
    2 Samuel 21:18
After this there was again war with the Philistines at Gob. Then Sibbecai the Hushathite struck down Saph, who was one of the descendants of the giants.
    1 Samuel 17:4
And there came out from the camp of the Philistines a champion named Goliath of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

At 1:47. Anyone who argues that the church removed the book of Enoch from the Canon of scripture has been fooled (hint: Dan Brown's The Davinci Code was fiction mixed with a little bit of truth which made fools of many people) because we have extremely well-documented history of how the Canon came about (and we are talking about just the New Testament here), i.e. it was an organic process whereby individual books were recognized by the apostles or by the new churches, and a consensus was arrived at organically (from the bottom up). Then there was a meeting at Nicea convened to deal with heresy and it ended up acknowledging what books the churches (plural) had already recognized as canonical.
The Canon of the Old Testament had already been decided for hundreds of years and the book of Enoch was not part of the Old Testament Canon, so the church would not have had anything to do with deciding whether or not the book of Enoch should be included.
All of this information with the historical documentation is easily found on the Internet

*This comment is long but please read!* I think I have seen these Watchers, my dad passed away and my mom was so distressed and just lost so I moved back home to help her and my siblings out. I was there about a week and I woke up late one night. I heard whispering but not in my language and not voices I knew. My mom couldn't stand sleeping in her and my dad's bed so she took naps on the couch, she would say something was watching her and she felt not safe. So I crept into the kitchen and looked into our living room on my mom, thinking I don't know maybe my grandma praying over my mom and I saw 3 tall dark or black robed things by the side of the couch by my mom. I don't know what they were doing but my mom was restless tossing and turning on the couch and mumbling tiny yelps. I ran up to them and told them whatever they were to leave my mom the hell alone now!! They moved back all at once and I'm not lieing I swear, it looked like there was something like wings over top their robes and I looked up at them and freaking out in my head that I have just been rude to something that I can't see in those robes and they have wings and I'm probably going to hell myself or I'm getting struck my lightening any moment!!! One stepped up to me and in english said, "We aren't harming her, we are Watchers." I'm not sure what they ment but their wings were black or dark colored, some had patches of feathers missing and I couldn't see no faces or anything outside the robes except their wings, I didn't even see feet or hear footsteps when they moved and my mom's house had old hardwood floors, in spots it creaked!!! The one near me said they would leave and not come back and they just disappeared like I was staring at them and then GONE!!! I woke up my mom screaming at her to wake up and I told her what I saw and we stayed up and had my mom's pastor come over ASAP, he said from what he was getting from what I told him they were fallen angels that were not so bad and were sent here to watch my mom and make sure she was ok. After I told these beings to leave my mom alone and they moved back I wasn't scared anymore, and I'm not the type to change my emotions fast. Since I was 4 years old, I can feel what people close to me are feeling or if I'm in a place that is sad I'll feel it, if I'm in a crowd I get overwhelmed and drained and have to go home. I literally felt nothing from these beings and that scared me and then before the one who stepped near me it was like a curtain of calmness was pulled around the room and my mom felt it too, she quieted down and fell back to sleep. That is the only time I've felt that from someone else besides me when I ground myself. I didn't know what they ment as Watchers but now it makes sense. Thank you

Seems to me that these “watchers” could be extraterrestrials. It would make sense. They oversaw humanity and also made the mistake of creating the giants, just as how humans make mistakes too. Extraterrestrials could be the answer to what these watchers really are and how they are so angelic and god-like. It could be their technology and ability to traverse space and time. After all, Enoch wouldn’t be able to “see the heavens” without angels.

Or it could be accurate... and what we think we see today as evidence of "extraterrestrials", are angels.
Enoch mentions that there are evil spirits that roam the earth, these evil spirits are the nephilim that were killed. They are half human and half spiritual (born of natural woman and supernatural angels). Because they were half and half, their body was destroyed but their spirit lives on because they were half spiritual/eternal.
So the evil spirits we encounter (supernatural stuff) is the remnant of nephilim.
One day we will know, were the "watchers" of old actually extraterrestrials... or are the extraterrestrials of today actually fallen angels?

Do “The Lost Book of King Og” aka “The Battle of 100, 000 Giants” aka “The Battle of 100, 000 Circumcised & Uncircumcised Giants”. 🧐 It’s a real thing. It’s a war of giants fighting as The Flood happens. There’s a prophesied Moon Goddess intermission, & then the fighting continues as the water rises about the combatants

      @dafttool 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@Stardust414 I’ve listened to it narrated here on TH-cam a couple of times over the last few years, either straight up narration, or narration with commentary. It’s like Lord of The Rings. The tribes of Giants come from all over for the fight, some even riding elephants & rhinos, & what sounds like dinosaurs & pterodactyls. Lots of gruesome fighting. Lots of foreskin talk (turns out the ones who have had theirs removed were trying to emulate the “gods,” while the others didn’t care about such religious matters. Lots of animosity & snobbery between the two groups). It describes that The Flood was meant to destroy the Giants’ wickedness, as they treated “little men” (people) as slaves, food, sex toys, & dark magic sacrifices. It’s one of the apocryphal books (from The Book of Giants) that didn’t make it into The Bible. King Og actually survives The Flood by supposedly riding on top of the Ark, & is much later mentioned in The Bible. Jewish folklore says that Noah fed the unicorns to Og to keep him placated from capsizing the Ark. So there are Judeo-Christian-Muslim references & Greek Titan cross references & Norse Frost-Giant cross references

I don't know why this is not picked up in other places but for the majority of the Neph. lifespan, they were actually renowned, because of their massive size, strength, and what they could do etc. They had all the normal stages of growth, being baby, infant, child , adolescent, sexual maturity , young adult and then finally men. This took time of course , many decades, and they coexisted well with their parents and helped the groups they were in. Imagine the things your settlement, village, tribe could do in building and construction alone with these strength guys around, It only kicked off really badly when after a short period as men, humans did not have anymore the resources , mainly food and wine, to keep them satiated. (These guys didn't spread out too far, from where the watchers first met human settlements - so you then had a small geographical area trying to sustain poss 2 to 300 absolute giants! They eventually turned on humans yes and went about devouring them. Undoubtably their evil stage but it's the only stage that is focused on. However, during this same period of their lifespan , man had also become corrupted too, due to the teachings of hidden knowledge they weren't supposed to know,. and his turning away from God and spreading violence So the Neph were both renowned and only feared (for the carnage , running amok, their own sexual immorality, bringing about further DNA corruption etc) in their last days before God intervened. God intervened on these two points mainly. If the watchers transgression was enough alone, God would surely have intervened much earlier.
