I have had a Cuisinart Pro for 30+ years. The bowl just cracked so am trying this Breville after a lot of consideration since we do a lot of bulk food prep for dehydrating, cooking, and canning. Fingers crossed that his delivers.

The smaller bowl is essential for smaller batches because of how close the blades sit to the bottom of the bowl. An example would be cutting garlic. In the larger bowl the blades would pass over the tiny pieces. The Breville gives a beautiful, clean slice when doing tomatoes too. The bowls are so clear you can observe the results without removing the lid. Meats should be lightly diced and frosted before chopping. Don’t store your bowl in locked position. The blades can be washed in the dishwasher, top shelf but not the bowls🤗 Just some quick tips🤓
I have watched a couple of your vids before. When I saw your face on this one I was like “Oh yeah! This guys good! Haha!”
I was blessed enough to find a brand new Breville on EBay. It just arrived but the accessories storage lid arrived with a big crack and a hole in the center of the top😭😭😭. It’s okay. I still feel very blessed to have it. It’s a 54th bday gift to myself🥳 Life happens. I’m ready to make pies🤗

A hint for the cheese. Put it in the fridge to firm it up, or even the freezer so it is stiffer. Then shred or slice.

I cook every day at home as well as privately professionally. Food processor in general is essential. My Breville 16 souls is seriously next level mirepoix, sofrito, cheese, potatoes, hollandaise,.. everything prep. It paid for itself after one job. The adjustable slicer is a game changer.

I have heard the same thing and that the smaller Sous Chefs do not include that blade and nor are they compatible with it. I really don't need anything that large but it still seems like the thing to buy. I have also ready you can cut yourself on the blades just as easily as with the mandolin I want to replace because it scares me. And I have heard it sometimes shreds the bowl ruining the blade, bowl and dinner and then Breville refuses to help you replace the broken parts.

I purchased mine right after they first came out... (maybe 4 years ago) I love it and haven't had any problems ...... everything seems to work as advertised.... when I purchased they were running a special .... sent in my receipt and received the other dicing blades free. I am only cooking for 2 generally (not including holidays) .... In my opinion it has been well worth the money. Great review by the way..

Sorry to be pedantic, but what you have is grated (aka shredded) carrot. Julienne carrot means matchsticks, either cut by hand or with a specialist tool. No food processor that I know of produces proper juilenne.

Hey! I am a Food Service Manager at a summer camp. As far as durability would you recommend this for a commercial kitchen? We don't ride these as hard as a Restaurant kitchen but when I do use one I have to do big batches of stuff. Obviously, this isn't going to be the Robotcoup that I am replacing but I working within a budget, a strict budget as I am paying for this out of my own pocket.

My Cuisinart workhorse finally wore out after 32 years of daily use (Actually, the motor is fine, just the bowl finally broke) and the “new” Cuisinart is just not what it used to be. Do you know you can get replacement parts for some of the older cuisinart food processor, i just bought 4 extra blades and another pusher for my old prep 7 7 cup cuusinart on cusinart.ca for Canada, for the u. s. a its cuisinart. com
Last week i bought and returned the cuisinart elemental 11 cup food processor, the feed shoot is shaoed like a clown face and is about half the width of the old prep 7. I couldn't even get a carrot to fit through the small shoot.
Im editing the vid now for youtube.
I also bought the breville 12 cuo sous chef, its very nice and has excellent weight to it like the old worh horses of yesteryear. I'll be keeping it unless i decide to upsize to the 16 cup

I have souschef 16. My cons: footprint is too big for a single purpose tool, pricy and the container is easily broke (I called to get new bowl as the blade made a huge indent while cutting hard squash), the kit set is too big, washing time is omg long. Vitamix has a new attachment to do food process ( came out after I got sous chef). I cannot say I regret getting this but I would like a unit that does multiple stuff. I hope breville can create spirlizing noodles or blender kit for sous chef. The dicing should be included inside the kit. Some tools are useless and should be simplified. The small compartment (smaller quantity bowl) leaks to the bottom so it's useless. I do find this to be amazing to make apple pie (mix dough and cut apple thin , I agree that cutting blade is amazing)

Thanks and I love your review on the sous chef too. I did a lot of researches before buying the food processor as I bake and break (any electronics a lot. Breville put a heavy warranty on this unit, and I am grateful for that as the bowl broke on my 2nd use. I find that there are many reviews focusing on the food processing ability (not a bad thing, it is a food processor) but didn't mention about everything else (competitors, new technologies, washing time, accessories within the kit). Anyways, good job on the review :)

@@carkarlaw Kar, what is the warranty on it? I loved your commentary. I liked the video -- after watching TAK. But, I looked at price ... $ 399. If it were $150-ish, then it'd be an instant purchase. Just like you said, a device like this, will get some use. But, $400 bucks is too much. Before we knew about this -- just watching TAK's channel tonight (first time), and we got a $50 buck one, and it does pretty damned good. Just doesn't have enough different blades, like dicing blade. But, not worth $350 to get something that does dicing too. So, do tell me about the warranty if you see this.

Hey, I just spent 2 weeks rehearsing the Vitamix food processor and it works great. At first I didnt like it bc so different from using Cuisinart for decades but after a few recipes, I came to LOVE it. Do know that it only slices, shreds, and chops about 8-10 cups max and only works with a couple of the series like Ascent and Venturist blenders. It is very easy to clean and use, though. I'm trying the Breville to see if I can maximize my food prep.

Bowl is very cheap plastic and is not dishwasher safe, nor is the top. There is a seal that food gets into. I cringed when I saw your cheese demo and the bowl just does not clean well, it never looks as nice as the first time you use it. I have the one with the potato peeler (waste doesn't work) and the dicer. If the bowl and lid were dishwasher safe, I would probably use. Also, had spring fly out of the bowl handle and a pin fell out and cannot use. I probably should contact Breville on the bowl. I wish the bowl was made of glass and or dishwasher safe. Food gets under the seal. Nice review, it is a powerful machine and love the storage unit for the blades, but the bowl is a deal breaker. I only never realized how important it is to have all the parts dishwasher safe.

I love how you pronounce it, brAville. That’s cute.
I’ve been on the Breville website and whilst people love it, the bad reviews have mainly been about how fragile the plastics are, (the bowl and lid).
