@@urlilcowgrl143 Unfortunately, I think it will be very hard to go through vinyl fabric using this method. Not sure if you're trying to close a pillow, but machine stitching may be a better way to go. Thanks for watching!
@@urlilcowgrl143 Jann is probably right but I find that testing a small area is the most helpful way to know whether or not something will work when one doesn't have, or can't find, an answer. Not knowing the type or thickness of your vinyl, I'd recommend, IF you have some scraps, test it and see if it works for you. Best wishes. 🙂
Please don't EVER delete this video! It's a great help! Thank you so much for posting it! I've had to look at it several times over the years because I don't make pillows very often and I forget how to close them properly. I love being able to look at your video whenever I need it! Thanks again!
@@JannNewtonSewOften Yay! We're even then! ha ha I just made a small decorative pillow for a 2nd grade girl who likes things to be "perfect!" With your help, I will close her pillow as perfectly as I can! LOL
I tore the tag off a new throw pillow I got my daughter for Xmas like a bonehead. I’m sooo glad I watched this. What a difference. You are teaching a life skill. Thank you so much
My Lady, you are a life saver! I tried following a different tutorial and could not for the life of me figure out why my stitch looked messy. Thank you!!
I don't really ever make comments on TH-cam videos, but I just need to say that you seem absolutely precious. I don't know why but I can just feel your sweet spirit as you teach. Also, this is super helpful! Thank you for sharing!
I’m sewing a sachet/herb packet like a pillow and I realized that I didn’t know how to close it without dropping all the herbs since I haven’t made pillows in years 😂 this was a great help!
Thank you for such a clear tutorial. I'm making pillows from fabrics that can't be washed and have a down/feather fill. Most tutorials on how to make pillows with have a zipper closure or are closed on the machine. Your method makes such a clean edge! I also love the way you've matted you fabric at the seams. Those are the details that say quality. It. requires more fabric but the final product is so very worth it. Thanks again!
Great video! I am rather new to the hobby of sewing. I have always wondered how you do a hidden stitch. I have watched several videos and how to books... But they never show it as clearly as you do. Thank you!!
Its been 11 years since this vudeo came out and I'm forever grateful for it. I'll be honest, even though i should know how to sew (just to keep all my tearing clothes intact) i did not and this was a really simple and easy to follow video, thank you so much for it!
Finally, a video that MADE me get it!! I am a terrible seamstress, but now, my pillow covers will look polished...instead of hamfisted together. Thank you!
U just gave me life I never was food at anything in life well crafting and u just made me a pillow maker now to search for my imported fabric thanks a bunch stay safe
OMG thank you for this video! I'm an occupational therapist and my kiddos have all become obsessed with making these emoji pillows. I always end up with the task of sewing them closed and until now, I had no idea how. That's why they always had to have "hair" to hide my bad stitching.
Although I never knew the name of this stitch, I learned it over 50 years ago when I was a little girl and my great grandmother was teaching me to hand sew. What I didn't learn in my high school Home Economics class when learning to sew on a machine was stitching the guide line. That is a very useful tip especially especially when closing something large such as a quilt, etc.. "Sew" happy I found your tips.😉 Thanks!👍
Thank you for the help. I bought a pillow cover. When I was stuffing it with a 20x20 pillow it ripped the stitching on one side. This is my first time sewing and thanks to you I fix the stitching :) thank you.
This helped so much for a school project. On all the other videos I watched, the stitching was visible, but this looks better and doesn't seem to hard. Great Video!
Great video. I love that you pressed the pillow edge, did the inner stitching and used a contrasting thread so we could actually see everything. I made some Santa accent pillows for Christmas gifts and could not remember how to do this (I'm bad with the hand stitching) so your video helped me close them. :-) Thanks
I'm glad the tutorial was helpful. I like to see all details in a video tutorial when I watch one, so I try to make the steps as clear as possible. I'm sure your Santa accent pillows will make great Christmas gifts!
Thank you so, SO MUCH. You made it so simple! I'm just so very grateful to people like you that have such a beautiful talent and share that talent with strangers.
Thank you so much for this how to video. I have an almost 30 year old pillow I had to re-stuff the stuffing but didn’t know how to sew it shut thank you so much

Thank you so much! Everything is with a sewing machine, of course I don't have one.i started mine before I saw this. I hope it turns out; somethings I did differently. I've pulled threads twice so I'm gonna pray it works out

I just "closed" FOUR pillows that I did, which I kept putting off because I didn't know how to and I thank you for that...Now I know one more stitch, "The Ladder Stitch." God bless you always!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have been wanting to learn this for years. My pillows I bought for my furniture, wasn't sewn this way and you can see where they stuffed them. I want to undo their closure, add more stuffing and sew with this blind ladder stitch.
