I have a 2008 Honda Civic LX with 375k that I have owned since it was new. This car is still running strong and it's because of the videos that you have posted here. You have helped me fix numerous fluid leaks, A/C and electrical problems. I followed the instructions on this video and it worked perfectly. Danny, I just wanted to say thank you. Your help here has been so appreciated.
My Civic roof molding has been weathered for a while now from front all the way at the other end. Thanks for this video Danny that there's another option to tackle this issue without breaking a bank 😊
Danny! I have no words to thank you enough, you helped a lot with my civic 2008, I’ll keep watching your channel and sharing with my friends, once more thanks! From Australia.
My son's 2010 CIVIC has the exactly the same issue. I am ready to fix his window trim using your method. Thank you for sharing your time and expertise.
Thank you, this is one of the few parts for this car you can't buy aftermarket. I put backer rod in there temporarily, but this looks like a permanent solution
I did this a few months ago. I did it quick and dirty. It eventually fell out. I think I will try again following your steps. Thanks for another great video Danny.
I'm going to try this asap, apparently honda doesn't sell that part anymore so only place is ebay and cheapest it goes for is 225 no thanks. This resolves it. Thanks
My 2008 civic's molding was making scratching noise as it blew in the wind. I swear the mouse-like scratching noise was coming from inside of the car but NOPE! Thanks for providing us with a cost effective solution Danny!
Mine 09 civic has the same problem. thanks for sharing this! Could you do one on how to fix a noisy rear window? Mine is seeing to make noise on every trip and stuffing foam weather stripping hasn't lasted or worked too well.
Hi, I'm about to do this on my Honda and have a question: after several months, how did it work for you? Has the trim that you installed stayed in place? Do you think it would benefit from a blob of window silicone here and there to make sure it does not fly away while driving on the highway? Thanks!
Danny! Do you mind sharing a video or your two bits here in the comments? My AC compressor wouldn't turn on but is not seized. Also the condensation fans the two front fans by the grill won't turn on either. I'm wondering if it's all connected? I have 2009 civic
Hello Mr. Danny, I would like to see your video about CAN high, CAN low, and K-Line probes for voltage and waveforms. Could you make it sometime? Everybody like you demonstration and clearly explanation. Thanks
Great video thank you. I was wondering, do you feel like the binding force would be enough in strong winds or did you put some sealant and or adhesive on there to keep it in place?
@@dannysdiygarage Thanks. I saw the prices on these currently $160 for both and that is ridiculous. Headed to big box today for garage door bottom door moulding. Wife doesn't like it missing ha Thank you.

Hi Mr. hope you're having a really good day, i enjoy so much your videos, i have the same car but the coupe version 2010 (and almost the same issues hehe). I do have a question, how many ft of rubber do you think you use? i dont know if i should buy de 9ft or 16 ft
Yes, dealer only and approx $150 per side, its the best option if you have money to blow, I'm pretty happy with this fix, you can't tell its a hack fix, looks actually factory, a fellow TH-cam suggested this to me a while back.
😭😭😭 I did this two weeks ago but with RTV silicone and some backer rod. I don't regret it but assuming if I need to remove mine one day im assuming it can be a nightmare this is way better.
I would have liked to buy the factory correct moldings, I just couldn’t bring myself to fork out the money, but that was the video I originally wanted to make ❤

oh man... where was this video when i needed it 2 weeks ago. could've saved me a bundle. thumbs up for it though in case i need it in the future.
I used a black half a inch hard foam tape for this, its been 2 years still holding strong.
This is fantastic! My family has THREE 07 Civics, and your channel covers practically all of the problems we've had that need fixing. Thank you!
Glad to help

I replaced my roof moldings a few months ago. Still available at the dealer.
How much $ was it to replace, I would love to know and did the dealer do it or you?
@@dannysdiygarage no doubt he paid $150~ a side which is def not worth it
They were a little over $90/side after my body shop discount. (25% off list price). Replaced them myself, not that hard.
@@joshaden6533 thanks for the reply
make a video how to fix tpms light!🙌🏽
Awesome video!
Aside from the cosmetic nuisance, is there any mechanical or safety issue with having that part of the car exposed?
Not at all
Then...does it technically qualify as patina? 😂
Thanks so much. I really enjoy your videos and enginuity
Sir Danny, have you done a diy demo to replace/fix the front windshield moulding under the front wipers?
You can use silicon gun to make it as glacier do at windows
Thank you! My Honda civic just had this problem.
Glad it helped

Great suggestion!, I’ll see what I can think up
Happy New Year Danny! Wait..so the oem roof molding dont come w/ the weather seal and in a separate piece? Or does it?
Correct it’s the whole 10ft piece, I believe they were pretty expensive, much more than I was willing to pay anyway
Does this help with the noise? Or does it just help with the look? My main problem is the noise.
Thanks!
@@justins.8592 it might help due to the opening around the glass, but I’m not sure if it’s the noise you’re looking for
Thanks!
Wish you would show the exact product to use. I went to Lowes and what i saw looked different.

Is this a cosmetic issue or can water get in if this trim has deteriorated?
@@Jonathan_Destang cosmetic issue, it was never a water tight seal

Just bought the 9ft one from your link and it’s not the same one you use in the video. It’s a much harder rubber that doesn’t work.
I just checked the part number, it should be the exact same thing, send me a picture of it, send to dannysdiygarage@gmail.com
Why did you remove the link? I need to try this!

Good tip. Mine is the same age appx and it's falling apart. Junk cars only lasting 17 years on that molding. That's sarcasm.

That can’t look good, does it?
Well

I wish you would cut it for me and ship it to me 😊
