The Prism you pulled out of the PENTAX looks exactly like mine. Were talking about a Camera that was never used by anyone, brand new in it's Box. Thank you for making this Video. I have purchased a broken Canon T50 to get the Prism.
Sweet! Just got my T50 prism today. That`s another K1000 brought back from premature death. Thank you for this video.
I noticed that after replacing the Prism from the donor Camera that you didn't tighten the screws on the sides that held the original Prism. I take it that you don't have to worry about the replacement Prism moving around since the brass piece holds it firmly in place.
I have a K1000 with a clear, clean viewfinder but an inaccurate light meter and a k1000 with a desilvering viewfinder but a perfectly working light meter. I’m definitely tempted to try swapping the prisms.
Hi there, thanks for the video. Did you use a canon t50 prism?
Can the Prism on a Chinese Nikon K1000 be replaced with one out of an ASAHI PENTAX k1000 Camera made in Hong Kong? I have a brand new never used Chinese K1000 that has that exact same monster looking thing in the Prism.
This might be very helpful! Are there other cameras that shares the same prism of the k1000? I need to solve the exact same problem. Big support for your work anyway.
There are a few that I've used, the AE-1 works but it's a little smaller so it needs the added foam to keep it from bouncing around, I think the KX or the KM is the same size too but T50's and T70's are usually pretty cheap to find so I'd start there and if I can think of anything else I'll let you know!
Can a person put a K1000 ASAHI SE Prism in a Chinese K1000 Camera?
👍
Anyone know where I can get a replacement prism???
There's another comment below saying to use a canon t50 prism. I can say with some authority that they fit just fine. I will say the shutter speed dial was a pain in the ass, and I had to do it four times because, of course, I did it wrong at least four times (and then I had to do it again because the... Winder screw? Fell out. Fifth time was easy though.
I may have disregarded some of the advice in the video (like not doing it), but now I have a fully functional camera! Not sure if that t50 deserved its fate, but it was already broken.
Thanks for the videos! Where is Part 1, can't find it.
The Part one I believe is my "Canon T50 Walkthrough"
@@RompingBronco Thanks, I'll check it out. Looks like I need to buy some more tools...spanner, etc..
