  • Shen Sui Gong (神髓功) Qigong method I learned from Master Shi Heng Yi's transmission. In the English language it roughly translates as Spirit or Essence Shower.
    Breathing Pattern:
    -
Breathing In (Inhale) - hands moving up ↻ ↺
    ↷ ↶
Breathing Out (Exhale) - hands moving down ↓↓
    -
The aim of the exercise is to train the mind to visualize and use active imagination, training our sensitivity to the internal movement of the vital energies and to cultivate the ability to consciously lead them.
Using the palms to guide the movement and our awareness, we use the mind's eye to project an image of a gentle, soothing, mist (like a sensation of being under a light shower of rain) 🌧️ trickling down the head with the aim of cooling it down, and leading the heat down through the torso into the core.
This exercise is especially effective when our mind is overactive or overstimulated. When we are in this state of mind, it means that we're getting an excess of blood flowing in it, therefore there is heat.
Using the cooling projection of a rain shower, we aim to cool the head, and lead that heat down into the lower energy centres.
This simple yet profound ancient practice is very effective especially when the sensitivity is developed by regular practice.

Thank you for sharing the video. How do we breathe? Meaning, when do we inhale and when do we exhale? Is it important to inhale/exhale at certain times or do we just allow our breathing to be natural meaning to breathe when we need to.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't realise that I haven't put in the instructions for the breathing, which is important.
      The breathing pattern is:
      Inhale - Hands moving upward
      Exhale - Hands moving downward

You can start by practicing for a few minutes. 2-3 mins is enough and progress further if you start developing your sensitivity 🙂
