Me too! Im at the age that some of these christmas goodies are familiar. My mama, was always making christmas goodies and my dad made his christmas fudge which had to setup and cool out in the garage. 2 pans, 1 with walnuts and 1 with no walnuts.

And since Blue Bell Butter Pecan Ice Cream is our favorite ice cream, I can tell you if we made this just for us it would be gone the first day!!! 🤦♀️🤷♀️Neither David nor I have ANY kind of self discipline where anything Butter Pecan is concerned!!! Talking about using powdered sugar, I use it when I make 'Meringue'. It seems so much creamier I just start adding little by little until I get the taste I want..

Oh well, can’t say that I haven’t tried to convince Tom to add a few more days of savory snack ideas or appetizer in instead of only sweet ones for those of us who don’t particularly like sweets that much like myself. Never heard of this, but any kind of butter pecan makes me happy, so I know this is wonderful. I got a tip somewhere to use parchment paper in your 8 X 8 pan instead of aluminum foil when baking brownies and it works beautifully. Cut 2 pieces as wide as the pan, long enough to go up both sides of the pan and overlap by at least an inch on each side (you can fold the overlap toward the outside of the pan and use a metal clip or clothes pin to secure the paper). Lay one paper in the pan then turn the pan 45 degrees and lay the other piece across the first piece (so that each of the four sides is now covered and has an overlap). When it gets cool enough, just use the overlapping paper as a handle to pick up and lift out of the pan. Brownies work great that way, without adding any kind of butter or spray (of course, a metal clip has to be used when baking anything!), so this should work as well if you'd like to try it. Or how about week of sweet breads or regular breads and/or rolls. The possibilities are endless. Really, I just love the series concept and y'all have some great recipes. Just a thought lol.

One of the main things I love about your recipes is that they're always the good, old, tried & true versions. I've tried some of the "quickie" recipes & they might be ok if you've never had the real thing but they are no substitute for the real homemade recipes. For those, you have to use a stove. A microwave is convenient for some things but it can't entirely replace cooking the old fashioned way. Didn't mean to go on a rant but I really do appreciate your real style of cooking. Thanks for these 12 days of Christmas. I'm sad to see them come to an end but I've enjoyed every one of them.😊

I enjoy your channel. I can't eat a lot of the food you cook because I am a diabetic. I am going to try this fudge with sugar-free sweeteners. I also want to thank you for scraping every drop out of everything. I find that so soothing. I am from over in SW VA. I have lived in Phoenix for 30 years.

So I have made this twice now. The first time I forgot to add the cream when I first added the sugars. I had about 90 seconds left of the five minutes when I realized it. I let it cook for about an additional minute before adding the powdered sugar and nuts. It did not come together immediately. I just set it aside and about an hour later it was perfect. It was creamy and delicious. Today I made it again only I used maple bourbon almonds instead of pecans. I remembered the cream at the right time and it came together great. The one additional tip I would add is that I mixed my nuts in with the powdered sugar when assembling my ingredients. They were already well distributed when it was time to add those. I really enjoy the videos, and especially this series.

Tom, my grandma made my favorite fudge buttermilk pecan fudge. I have yet to master the recipe.

I've tried some of the "quickie" recipes & they might be ok if you've never had the real thing but they are no substitute for the real homemade recipes. For those, you have to use a stove. A microwave is convenient for some things but it can't entirely replace cooking the old fashioned way.
Didn't mean to go on a rant but I really do appreciate your real style of cooking.

I'm a just recently got your channel recommended so now I'm a new subscriber and I really enjoyed the 12 days of Christmas treats. Thank you fir sharing all your recipes. I'm the onky one in the house that likes butter pecan and I've never seen or heard of a fudge recipe with butter pecan. I'm excited ti try it. I don't need to eat it all either so I'll have to share it with friends. Now I need to go back and watch all your other videos . Merry Christmas to you both.

I enjoy your channel. I can't eat a lot of the food you cook because I am a diabetic. I am going to try this fudge with sugar-free sweeteners. I also want to thank you for scraping every drop out of everything. I find that so soothing. I am from over in SW VA. I have lived in Phoenix for 30 years.

So I have made this twice now. The first time I forgot to add the cream when I first added the sugars. I had about 90 seconds left of the five minutes when I realized it. I let it cook for about an additional minute before adding the powdered sugar and nuts. It did not come together immediately. I just set it aside and about an hour later it was perfect. It was creamy and delicious. Today I made it again only I used maple bourbon almonds instead of pecans. I remembered the cream at the right time and it came together great. The one additional tip I would add is that I mixed my nuts in with the powdered sugar when assembling my ingredients. They were already well distributed when it was time to add those. I really enjoy the videos, and especially this series.
