It's always fun to introduce reactors to this video. They always get such a shock between Avi's low foghorn of a note and Mitch's high. Avi actually broke the venue's speakers with that extreme low, which is why you heard the "growling" when Mitch went low. The group learned to travel with their own speakers after speaker blow-outs in various places because of Avi.

What is happening? Mitch was jet lagged and took 2 Red Bulls n became hyper.

The "where is Kevin" video. He was putting away his cello (Beyoncé). You can see that when Mitch starts his part he and Scott move closer to Kirstie and Avi as Kevin is on the right. You can hear Kevin beatboxing. The fan recording this was focused on Mitch.
Everyone focuses on Avi and Mitch, rightly so. But the agility of Kirstie and Scott in the background is lost in all of the amazing Mitch-slaps. And Kevin - well he's K.O.
I think this is one of the songs that highlights how complex background vocals are for them. I’ve always been impressed by this, but also yes Mitch stole the show.

It's official recorded live footage from one of their shows on tour so the audio is great and you see multiple different cameras angles.
When Avi would sing lead in a PTX song, Scott took over the bass part.
Shane Nicole, who recorded this now has 1.6 million views on this video. This is considered one of the ultimate Mitch slaps. I’m sure when she was recording this she had no idea what was gonna happen with this video. This video definitely does do things to your brain. 🤭🤯 🤗💋🥰

It’s so much fun “discovering” PTX all over again with a new, enthusiastic reactor. The thing that always impresses me most with this song (other than the obvious) is the syncopated rhythm that Avi, Scott, Kirstie and Kevin maintain throughout the song. Seems like things could get really messed up very easily

The live Vevo recording of Pure Imagination/Christmas Time is Here is gorgeous. A mid-range toned song for Mitch (and one of my very favorite things he does) is Amazing Grace. You will get everyone-slapped in that one, actually!!! 💜

Scott and Kirstin doing all the syncopated background parts, with Kevin just going off, is hard to do in a studio environment where you can do it over and adjust things electronically in mixing. The difficulty of doing this live is about a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10. Crowd noise, sound delays (just a fact with sound traveling through cords and wi-fi) the adrenaline of being in front of a crowd, and anything else that can happen live, this is a whole other level talent and discipline. If any of them get off track or off beat doing this song it could turn into a train wreck in a hurry. I don't think there are too many people, outside of these special five, that could do this and do it that well.
at the very end of the song, just after the ultimate Mitch-slap, Kirstie and Scott do indeed start off off beat - fortunately they only had to keep it together for another 8 bars of music so it didn't go completely off the rails. But before that, they were spot on!
you can also hear Mitch go pretty high in Superfruit's Defying Gravity. Not sure which is higher

Yep, it's both a Mitch slap and an Avi-lanche.
In the song just before this Kevin had been playing his cello, so at the beginning of this video Kevin is off-stage, putting the cello safely back in its case. Avi suggested the clasdical piece they were singing at the beginning as a way to fill in the time until Kevin's return. When Mitch and Scott see Kevin coming back they both move closer to the center of the stage to make room for him, and that's when Avi goes all basso profundo on us and sings the first notes of "Aha!".
Pentatonix had just flown in and needed to go on stage almost immediately, but Mitch was jet lagged, so he drank two Red Bulls to fight the jet lag - Mitch should never be allowed more than one Red Bull.
So, all that sugar and caffeine kicked in just as they were beginning "Aha!", and we got an epic fan video.
Avi-lanche I dont think i have heard that one before. Awesome!

I love this video even though it's poor quality and you it's totally focused on Mitch you can still hear just how incredible they are live! I would love to see your reaction to this 2016 pop spring performance. Is just 1 of their best live performances captured on . Hello Saeed....When I saw this pop up, I laughed.....at last! Your reaction was spot on. PTX are constantly phenomenal. Mitch is a vocal acrobat, a master of precision and timing and quite the stage performer. Recommending for you again PTX cover of "No" with Mitch wearing a white shirt and a black bow tie (for more stage performance) and Come Along (if you want another high note).
