Wow my friend - that is saying a LOT!!! (there are SO MANY great coaches on TH-cam, so I really really REALLY appreciate that!) You just made my day/week/month/YEAR!!! 🥰THANK YOU! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Love this! Can you do a tutorial on how to sing like Bear Rinehart from NEEDTOBREATHE? He's got this thing he does where it's kind of gravelly/ gurgly (I can't describe it very well). I've been trying to find tutorials but I can't find ANY. Some good songs where he does that technique are: Stand By Me, Drive All Night, Bullets, I Wanna Remember, and Riding High/ Honky Tonk Women Live. Please? Thank you!
Hey Alexis - thank you for the suggestion, I will do a Steven Tyler video SOON! He was one of my biggest influences! Also, thank you for the GREAT idea! I get so many younger people, and I can TOTALLY relate because I was in the same boat (LONG before youtube) I just had to look at photos in 'Kerrang' or 'Hit Parader' and listen to the albums and go to concerts (once every year or so when they came around to Ohio)... I will make a video soon to share my journey. Appreciate you for taking the time to watch and comment!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
I tried teaching someone to sing and they are literally stuck in terminology lol. I got so sick of and it and just said man, you're in a damn loop. I know that was bad to say. I tried to describe a buzz to him. He couldn't even do trills and now I know why coaches test you with those to see if you just learn it. It's that spot where the buzz comes from cause it's coming out of your mouth instead of your throat.
haha in my opinion there is far too much jargon and less practical teaching with most teachers... fair enough when words are use to label things that do help, but in my opinion many of these labels don't really help get the RESULTS, which is where I think teachers should focus with their students - rather than try to baffle them with brilliance (bu11sh1t) of terms... all just my limited, and idealistic opinion :)
Thanks for that, I appreciate the clarification on terms! Often I focus on simple easy to understand methods and getting results, and it impedes my use of jargon sometimes 🤷🏼♂️ appreciate you!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
@@RockYourBestVocals thanks man, the reason I commented that was because I used to look up false cord techniques only to find out months later I was actually hearing/thinking of arytenoid distortion, I didnt want it to happen to others
Tim 'Ripper' Owens ex-judas priest tearing it up on an iron maiden cover. That ending scream 3.33 wtf? really fine grit over a really strong note with crazy vibrato, is this soft palate distortion? he seems to have improved at this lately, like a different and better tone now than a decade ago. th-cam.com/video/LdzeV33pSas/w-d-xo.html
AMAZING! To me it sounds more like falsetto with some glottal fry over it (at least, that is how I would approach it)... to do this you need a LOT of push and support from your lower abdomen while (whilst) relaxing your throat area.... and limit exhalation for good cord closure. There's a lot going on there, but with practice comes perfection - putting all the puzzle pieces together (like flying an aeroplane - keep an 'eye' on all the 'gauges') 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Hey dude so happy I just found your channel. Your videos have been a tremendous help for me. I've been struggling for so long. I ill be sharing your channel with sooo many musicians out here in CO! Also do you have any social media handles I could direct message u on? Regarding your 6 week Program? Just wanna ask some questions before I get started. Let me know! Peace!
