  • The Petrol Killer! In this video I give a comprehensive review of the 2018 Ego 56v BC3802E Cordless Brushcutter Kit with included Rapid Charger & 5AH Battery.
    This is the most powerful Brush cutter & Line trimmer available from Ego and is ideally suited for commercial landscapers and garden maintenance professionals.
    It has bike handles (aka bull handles aka handlebars), straight shaft, anti-clockwise rotating head changeable between rapid load, bump feed line trimmer head and brush cutter blade. Comes with a harness and a powerful motor with plenty of juice supplied by the included 56v 5AH battery.

    Great review, I currently have the EGO blower and the 18” chainsaw. I have a very old gas brush cutter and was looking at the various Ego models. This looks like the best for my work. They all take the same battery and they are all powerful.

    • @PerthgardensAu
      @PerthgardensAu  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Right on. How do you find the chainsaw? That’s the only one where I really notice the lack of power compared to petrol (gas) engine?

    Thanks for sharing your experience. How does the Ego compete with the petrol cutter when it comes down to cut heavy bushes like brambles? Which is the nr 1 reason I am buying a brush cutter. Tips welcome.

    Thanks for the very thorough review which was forwarded to me by Ego in response to my query for a video showing changing the line and also switching between line trimmer and brush cutter heads. I found their own website videos and the diagrams in the instruction manual to be inadequate. I have never owned or operated a line trimmer before so found this of immense benefit, thank you. Also, your review stacked up on the features, cost and usability. I don't mind paying more upfront for lower running costs, comfort and environmental benefit in the long term.

    the difference in power is large between gasoline and battery or not much due to maintaining the speed of the battery

    Excellent review. Really appreciated the unboxing and especially the side by side trimmer comparison starting at 11:52
    It appears that the power head unit has the same size motor assembly as the brushcutter. Do they feel comparable in terms of power when using the trimmer attachment? In your shot, the brushcutter shaft appears to be slightly longer though. Could just be the angle?

    • @PerthgardensAu
      @PerthgardensAu  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad you found it helpful!
      Ok you've asked a great question and it's made me take a real close look at what exactly the differences are.
      Motor is the same - same power (2000w), dimensions & weight
      Shaft length on multi tool with line trimmer attachment is 30mm longer
      HOWEVER
      Because of the way you hold the bike handle brushcutter/line trimmer it is much more ergonomic IMO
      The D-handle Line trimmer is held with the motor under one forearm with that hand on the trigger and other arm extended. The shaft is angled fairly steeply toward the ground.
      The bike handle (aka bull handle) brushcutter is held much lower, supported by the harness, with arms stretched out to hold the handlebars. Because it is sits lower on your body the angle toward the ground is much flatter. This is more comfortable, more balanced and lets the head cut at a flatter angle. It also more than makes up for the 30mm shorter shaft.

      @eighties8 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd actually prefer the bike handle setup, however, its not currently available to the US market. Apparently it may be coming before year end, but nothing has been announced officially. I have a bike handle that came off a Stihl brushcutter that I may attempt to retrofit onto the powerhead unit. I'd have to find a donor trigger handle (perhaps off the backpack blower or perhaps a chinese knockoff or perhaps even just try to use the existing trigger assembly from the power head.

    • @eighties8
      @eighties8 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interestingly, at 2KW, this motor is one of the most powerful of any (including gas powered brushcutters), and currently THE most powerful cordless li-ion trimmer. Its comparable to Stihl's monster FS 430 gas brushcutter (45.6 cc, 2.2 KW). Only the Stihl FS 530 has more power and it costs $1350 US

    • @eighties8
      @eighties8 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lawn Mowing Contractor Interesting. I owned an FS130 for a time and found it to be less powerful. I suppose my machine could have been hubbed out from use.

    • @PerthgardensAu
      @PerthgardensAu  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that the KW-HP conversion doesn't hold up in practical terms. I don't know the reason why. Perhaps a better comparison is torque and rotation speed?

    Great reviews on the Ego tools, do you notice less vibrations on your hands compared to a petrol unit when used for longer periods of time?

    • @PerthgardensAu
      @PerthgardensAu  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. I get quite a few jobs that involve a couple of hours of continuous use and that vibration is very noticeable when you’re using petrol tools for that long. The battery powered tool is much better for vibration.

    • @PerthgardensAu
      @PerthgardensAu  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @DuffyNightingale
    @DuffyNightingale 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I've got one of these with the D handle. Really like the bull bars. But EGO only sells with the D handles in the united states. No idea why? LOVE the thing. Plenty of power and no exhaust fumes blowing out next to your head. Another thing I never thought of until I had electric equipment is safety factor (and this applies to electric lawn mowers too). The electric is much safer as no hesitation to shut off to check for dangerous things in your path, etc. simple because to restart no pulling, etc. just push a button or apply a little pressure to your power lever!! And much quieter too.

      The skin only version of this is selling in Aus for 169.00 Aus (117.00 US) with free postage. Just ordered one, already have the power head line trimmer and self propelled lawn mower.

      @@marka6487 Cool. I’m going to take the bull bars off my old Stihl and put them on the Ego. Then I’m going to mount the controls out on the end just like old Stihl and go to town on the weeds!

    • @ezez6916
      @ezez6916 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No! EGO site on 6/2021 in Australia notes that the residential model with bull handles has been discontinued. I opine that it will never be avaliable in the USA. The commercial model is avaliable in Australia and New Zealand for $570 US dollars. Perhaps they did not want untrained homeowners using a brush cutter as opposed to a string trimmer.
