  • EGOs new bull-handle brushcutter is made for commercial users. It runs a 30cm blade or 38cm string. Does it have the power to match its great look and feel? We'll find out...

I bought one of these today. I was very impressed of the power and especially the torq of it. My dealer told it has the same 1.9 kw engine (2.5hp) like the bcx3800 (pro with alu engine housing, carbon shaft and metal trigger and made for backpack battery) i choose te 5 amp battery what is good for 40-45min of use. i bought the fast charger what charges the 5 amp battery in a bit more than half an hour. that's the reason i dont need the 7.5 amp, this has over an hour runtime. the runtime is not so long as you guys predicted, because the motor has more power than the motor in the head bij the cheaper tools. I hope you like this information. Nice review!

Great review as usual guys. Why can't we get this handlebar brush cutter in the US?

My BC3800E lasted a little over 2 years before it died. Unfortunately, this model has been discontinued, and nothing like it is available other than the unwieldy commercial version, which requires a battery backpack. It was an excellent machine.

ah that's sad. the backpack is pretty great though. I often use it even with a line trimmer :)

@@OZToolTalk I have used this BC3800E brush cutter with steel blade for about 1 year, maybe only once or twice a month. It just stopped working properly. When it hits medium-heavy grass, it just stops for about 1 minute, then it goes again, but again stops when touching anything that isn't very very light grass. Then it stops for 5 minutes sometimes. Machine is not hot, battery is not hot, tried with different ego batteries since we have many, same thing. Wish there was an Ego repair centre in Australia for someone to at least be able to have a look and try to repair, as it could just be a simple worn part. I don't get this whole idea of "replacement within warranty, or if not throw it away and buy a new one" mentality that Ego has.

@@sic04250f Good to see, though very expensive compared to the BC3800E it effectively replaces with an inferior warranty.
My BC3800E was eventually repaired under warranty (new motor and gearbox), but if I were to buy a new one, I'd consider the Greenworks bike-handle brushcutter as the replacement.

@@NoOne-jy6mc You're right, EGO doesn't appear to cater for repairs outside of warranty.
I ordered a replacement chain drive socket for my EGO chainsaw and six weeks later, it still hasn't been delivered.

I LOVE Love love my EGO 56v Lawn Mower, I love it so much that I am waiting for Home Depot to deliver my EGO Pole Saw and String Trimmer, living in Florida with all the rain and humidity it is so nice not to work with Gas, draining the tank and line, no oil or spark plug to worry about, no putting on a new Carburetor due to corrosion... and my Steel deck always rusted... EGO RULES!

Great Video, as usual :-) A special "plus" for me : seeing you guys doing outdoor activities gave me a "warm feeling", as here in Western Europe, we have to cope with -4 °C these days... Brrrr ...
I am looking forward to see your video on Cordless Grinder, a tool which is on my wish list for quite a while :-) I own a DeWalt DWE4057 which is a great tool that I really like, but still miss the freedom offered by a cordless one.
Will definitely wait for your review before making decision :-)

Sweet looking unit. Wish good battery stuff like this had of been around 5/6 years ago. I bought a Stihl 2 stroke combi unit with the brushcutter and pollsaw attachments. Prob only use the thing few times a year. So battery would of been perfect.
How loud is it during use? Hard to tell from the video. Still need hearing prot? Or fine without it

TheColinputer it is def a sweet machine, not sure of DB off the top of my head but it’s SUPER quiet, I felt no need at all for ear plugs. I probably should check that. (Mike)

Nice review, but now, all I want is for AEG to do one similar. However, as far as slashing those solid grasses go I've been using the ExpandIt hedge trimmer attachment (on my AEG line trimmer drive) as a ground slasher for clumps of rushes & grass clumps as well as other woody weeds, including bracken, blackberry & lantana etc & since the cutting capacity is 24mm (I think), it cuts through everything I present it without wrapping around the spindle (except rocks) & does a very neat cutting job too. Not only that, it cuts at least 400mm depth for each swing (in either direction) & so I'm not sure I really need a brushcutting blade now. Mind you though, if I don't get to the lantana soon enough it becomes a chainsaw job instead.
