The magic circle is like a Holodeck. It allows you to simulate a scenario from the past. Goku used it to train with Roshi’s master, to learn how to control ki.
Although Gregory did not appear in the original Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama, he was one of the many filler characters designed by Toriyama. Toriyama created him because the anime staff wanted one more character for the stories on King Kai's Planet.
Since you guys talked about Piccolo at the end: Please watch the fight between Piccolo and Android 17 from the original show. It is one of the best fights in the series!
Yeah he was over-exaggerating Piccolo and Vegeta are relevant all the way through the Cell saga (Piccolo beats stage 1 cell/17 and Vegeta is the strongest character technically right before Cell goes perfect), its just everyone Krillin level and weaker that gets sidelined and characters like Launch, Yajirobe, Pooua (however the fuck it gets spelled) that become inconsequential from a narrative PoV and in fights
Bringing someone back to life used to have a time limit, if someone has been dead for a year they can't be wished back. If they didn't revive Goku then, he had no way of returning.
Well, I know it's an abridged series, but the Dragon can't kill a person who's stronger than Kami, and also cannot affect a person stronger than Kami against their will. Which means, they cannot set them to die.
After watching DBZ Abridged, my cousin/roommate would quote Lord Guru and call me Nail all the time. All. The. Time. Hearing it again after like, five years was a huge nostalgia trip.
When it gets to the frieza saga is when the old weird editing stops, during probably early to mid frieza saga you wouldnt be able to tell that its so old
The Dragonball rules: 1. Cant make the same wish twice. Not just bringing people back, any wish twice. 2. Cant exceed power of the dragon's creator. 4. Cant wish someone back who died of natural causes.
They should probably turn off the funny subtitles because they already talk over half the jokes so hey will miss more with them on especially later on when the Jokes Per Second numbers go up
20:22 it's explained in the anime. The dragon balls can't do anything kami can't and since Vegeta and nappa is stronger than kami the dragon balls can't affect them if they don't want to be affected.

Like others have pointed out, if someone is telling to skip a DBZA episode, ignore them! There are no filler episodes in DBZA. Also, regarding rules for making wishes on the Dragon Balls, a neat one that really only comes up like once in the entire series, is that you can't bring back someone from the dead if they died due to natural causes. It's actually why things got so dire in Future Trunks' timeline, because according to the rules Gokue dying do to the heart virus was considered a natural cause. (Though, they did some BS with that rule when Guru dies on Namek, saying that the stress of what Freeza was doing to his people and planet cause him to die unnaturally fast or something, even though he passes away like 30 seconds after they bring back everyone and send them to Earth)
The comic is mostly black and white, with color pages (some limited color, some full color) thrown in here and there when Shonen Jump allowed it. Apparently Toei didn't know what color to make Vegeta because they hadn't seen him in color yet? Actually, it's the same with Korin, the cat master with the senzu beans. In the manga he turned out to be blue, but the anime made him white. I'm not 100% sure if that's the same situation or if it was a conscious choice, but the white fur stuck, unlike Vegeta's colors here. There are a few other little color differences between the comic and series, like the color of Piccolo and Gohan's sashes. And I think Toriyama Akira draws Super Saiyans as having a blue/white aura instead of a gold one? Edit: Also, ironically, the "my planet is smaller so the gravity is stronger" thing "not making sense" actually kinda does? If you shrunk Earth to half its size without changing its mass, the gravity at its surface would become twice as strong. It's a matter of density.
There's a Funko Pop of that Vegeta, the Planet Arila version...its pretty much the Holy Grail of DBZ Funko's thousands of dollars. I do remember an interview where they said his coloring was like that because of the Hue of the planet.
1:28 That happens all the time with Toriyama. If you get some colored pages in the manga, sometimes the characters will have totally different colors, most noticeably Goku's clothes in early DB. 4:55 So do a lot of people. Him and Raditz and for no other reason than to just see them go Super Saiyan. People been thinking how would Nappa look with only golden eyebrows. And especially if they went SS3. Nappa getting a long beard and Raditz getting three times the hair. 8:14 Because season 1 of DBZA. Obviously just testing different ideas for jokes. A lot of hit and miss. 15:56 They're basically in the matrix with some old and weak Saiyans and they still get rekt.
Just a note to feed people's curiosity: Gohan's probably the only character that died a just once in this timeline, when Boo blew up the Earth (near the end of the series). Not counting Trunks' timeline, because that one is a mess and everyone is permanently dead.
1:28 that's true but only half the story, the rest of the story is that the only reference the ink and paint department had was the manga and Vegeta's pages were in Black and White so they estimated what he'd look like until Toriyama-sensei came along to give his input.
okay, so one of the rules about the dragon is that he cant effect any beings stronger than himself, like the gang actually asked if they could send them into an asteroid field or into the su, and shenron said he couldnt because they were too powerful.
the other rule is the dragon can't grant a wish that surpasses the level of power it's creator has, like in the anime they actual do try to get Shenron to kill Nappa and Vageta but he states "that wish is beyond my power"
Shenron can be summoned by gathering all seven of the Dragon Balls of Earth. Shenron can bestow any single (meaning he only grants one per summoning) wish as long as it does not exceed the power of his creator, who must be still alive. Shenron has also threatened to kill the summoner if they do not say a wish on time, or if they do not say a wish at all. The Dragon Balls cannot be used for one year after a wish is made, as they turn to stone. The Earth Dragon Balls are relatively small, each about the size of a large orange. Restrictions Shenron either can't or simply will not grant the same wish a second time, though the reason for this limit is unknown as it is not shared by the Namekian Dragon Balls. Shenron can wish back more than one person per wish, provided that they; 1. Died less than a year ago 2. Died under a common circumstance (e.g. killed by a certain villain) 3. Have not already been wished back before. Shenron cannot change a being from one species to another Shenron cannot kill a person that exceeds the power of his creator. Originally, Shenron could only grant one wish per summoning, until after the Cell Games Saga, where Dende upgraded him to grant three wishes (two if multiple people are revived with one of the wishes). Shenron's power is directly linked to capacities of whoever created it (i.e. Kami or Dende). As such, Shenron cannot defeat or kill someone whose own power exceeds the creator and cannot exist without said creator still being alive. He is unable to restore life to those that have died of natural causes (but he can restore a person's youth). When reviving multiple people at a time, he can only bring back those who have not been dead for more than a year. In Dragon Ball Z, it is revealed that Shenron cannot grant the same wish more than once (e.g. bringing back those from the dead that he revived once already). It is revealed that while Shenron has vast awareness and knowledge of all existence and its history, such as the existence and ritual to produce the ancient Super Saiyan God, his insight is not omniscience as he could not tell where the final Super Dragon Ball was as its resided within a different universe from Shenron, making it too far away and too difficult for Shenron's power to locate. Also, Shenron can only maintain his summoning for a set period of time, regardless of how many wishes it has granted. Gradually, Shenron's form will weaken before finally dispersing until the next summoning. He often shows an air of impatience to those who are slow to wish due to this.
Bojack is a villain that breaks free supposedly because the kais planet sealed him. It's not canon, but it's in one of the movies. In the storyline it happened right after the cell games. You should watch it it's pretty sick
In the show, Nappa and Vegeta allow the Arlians to capture them, just to toy with them. Yeah. Also, TFS made the “Chala Head Chala” theme song… great again. 🙄 I remember back when most DBZ fans used to shit on this song. It was definitely one of the least popular DBZ themes, which is ironically why TFS used it. Probably… 🤷🏾♂️ Now everyone loves it.
@@digitaladventurer2142 i it was just a guess because a lot of TH-camrs take a brake in January but if u look at his community tab hes been copyright striked and cant upload for a while
Your friend is completely wrong about Z. The dynamic of characters falls into Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo and Krillin’s hands. Also they aren’t constantly making up rules, they’re actually set up beforehand, and elaborated upon as the series goes. For example, the dragon balls can’t do things that are beyond the power of the creator when manifesting effects. An example would be that, to effect the Saiyan ships, Kami would have to be at least half Vegeta’s power to effect his destiny or path slightly. P.S. I am not an angry or upset fan, I’m just an OG fan that likes to share the right info
I always thought that vegeta’s color was due to the color/atmospheric conditions of the planet they are on. Even Nappa’s armor is a different color. I think it changes as soon as they leave the planet. I think.
17:08 Mr Satan never died... This point actually made me think for a while... they are a few characters that never die but they are few and far between. Humans (inc all earth animals and talking animal characters like the King, Paur etc) - all die at some point except Satan & Uranai O Baba who was in otherworld when the Earth exploded so she also has never died Namekians - all die and most are resurrected Saiyans - all died except Tarble and Broly as this list is DBZ only these 2 could easily be excluded. Yamma and the ogres which we see in Yammas domain and Heaven & Hell - The first characters we see in DBZ which (apparently) never die are all the ogres who work for Yamma. Princess Snake and her Snake women all survive Kaio-sama Bubbles & Gregory died to Cell Saibamen - Killed by Krillin, Picollo, Vegeta and 1 commited suicide. The kidz in space that Bulma Gohan and Krillin met, presumably survive. Edit: Forgot this it's filler but those two dudes who pose as Namekians and lure Bulma and co to the false Namek. Both survived. Friezas army - all who went to Namek died, mostly killed by Vegeta.. some by Frieze and 2 possibly killed by Krillin and Gohan. Friezas army - those stationed on Friezas home planet presumably most survived although a few of these were killed by Friezas Father. Zarbon & Dodoria - killed by Vegeta Ginyu Force - killed by Vegeta Capt Ginyu - Frog Ginyu was on earth for years until he must have died from Boo destroying Earth. He comes back in Super and is killed by Vegeta Garlic Jnr men - killed by Gohan Garlic Jnr was trapped in the dead zone twice but is still alive in the dead zone. More Friezas army - killed by Trunks Future Trunks - this one is a bit complicated, in the the timeline which Cell came from he killed a Trunks... however this isn't the timeline belonging to the Trunks we see fight Frieza. Basically there are 3 Trunks... Cells timeline , Future Trunks timeline, and present day Trunks. Cell killed his Trunks, Future Trunks was killed by Cell, resurrected went back home, killed his Cell & Androids, then he took a few years off before Super. Present day Trunks died to the earths explosion. Whichever Trunks you use he dies at some point regardless. Mecha Frieza and Friezas father - killed by Trunks Androids - 16 17 died to cell, 19 to Vegeta and 20/ Gero killed by 17. 18 Survived cell but was later killed by Boo. Future Bulma - Survives Everyone in otherworld - already dead except... Dai Kaio Sama and the other 3 Kaios Kaioshin-sama survives Kibito - killed by Dabura that dude Vegeta killed (can't think of his name) Dabura - killed by Boo Yakon - killed by Goku Babidis men - either killed by Gohan/Kaioshin or died when the Earth went or killed by Boo before that Babidi - killed by Boo Bibidi - killed by Kaioshin Good Boo - technically he doesn't die except in GT... I wasn't really considering GT when I started this :D Evil Boo - killed by Goku Pan - Survives! Oob - Survives!
To answer the question about why they don't just kill everybody, they essentially want to inspect the planet to see if it will be valuable for them to conquer first. So they just let themselves get arrested so they can speak to the locals and confront the king. They do so, ending up killing pretty much everybody and conclude the planet is worthless to them. Vegeta is also annoyed with the planet's inhabitants calling him a hero for destroying the tyrannical king, so he blows it up on the way out. It's a filler arch that isn't canon from what I understand, though Vegeta blowing up the planet is usually referenced when people talk about DBZ power scaling and such.
Idk if you're intent on watching this episodically, but I have supercuts on my channel where you can watch each season like it's a movie. No awkward copyright cuts, lack of audio, anything like that. Just smooth narrative flow!
The reason Vegeta and Nappa went to Arlia is because there was a contract out to capture the planet, which was SUPPOSED to be a garden world fit for settlement, meaning it was worth a LOT of money. The Arlians apparently caused an apocalypse in the meantime, making it utterly worthless, so since they wasted the Saiyans' time, Vegeta and Nappa decided to have some fun with them before they killed everybody.
Vegeta looked like that because Toei didn't know the colors for Vegeta, the manga was black and white so they just had to guess. Toriyama had to call them and tell them the actual colors after these episodes aired.
We get to know about bojack later in the series. There is a movie after the cell saga where he is the antagonist. If you are interested I recommend watching gohan vs bojack. It's a epic fight.
The Bojack joke: Bojack is from the 9th DBZ movie "Bojack Unbound". In the movie it was established that Bojack was locked inside King Kais planet, and when Goku brought Cell to King Kais and Cell blew it up, it released Bojack. However, because the movies aren't canon, Bojack was never a thing in the actual anime. So the joke is meta commentary of the ridiculous extra "lore" a lot of the movies always try to cram into the already established lore the anime gave us before that point.

Bojack is a villain that breaks free supposedly because the kais planet sealed him. It's not canon, but it's in one of the movies. In the storyline it happened right after the cell games. You should watch it it's pretty sick
Don't take it personal...
I rarely subscribe to anyone considering if I watch enough of your video's they will pop up anyway :D
Hear that boys subscribe or I’ll deal with you remember the pecking order
Why would they want him to skip these "fillers"? It's the start of such classic gags... "NAAAAAAAAAILL.", "DODGE!", Nappa's antics.
13:13 How come Episode 6 of abridged didn't get demonized because of that?
In the show, Nappa and Vegeta allow the Arlians to capture them, just to toy with them. Yeah.
Also, TFS made the “Chala Head Chala” theme song… great again. 🙄
I remember back when most DBZ fans used to shit on this song. It was definitely one of the least popular DBZ themes, which is ironically why TFS used it. Probably… 🤷🏾♂️
Now everyone loves it.
Fun fact: Mr. Popo's VA also voiced Vegeta and Krillin
he doing okay? this is a pretty long gap between uploads (of any kind)
Its January bro
@@INFINITEKN does he not upload during the 2nd half of the month or something? He was pretty active at the start of it
He got a lot of copyright strikes so he can’t upload on this channel for a while. He explains it in his community post
@@digitaladventurer2142 i it was just a guess because a lot of TH-camrs take a brake in January but if u look at his community tab hes been copyright striked and cant upload for a while
Make sure you react to the Attack On Titan Abridged episode, there is only one because Japan weren't happy and banned TFS from making anymore
And to think that in Abridged Popo, Vegeta, Krillin, Piccolo and a few more are voiced by the same guy!
Humans (inc all earth animals and talking animal characters like the King, Paur etc) - all die at some point except Satan & Uranai O Baba who was in otherworld when the Earth exploded so she also has never died
Namekians - all die and most are resurrected
Saiyans - all died except Tarble and Broly as this list is DBZ only these 2 could easily be excluded.
Yamma and the ogres which we see in Yammas domain and Heaven & Hell - The first characters we see in DBZ which (apparently) never die are all the ogres who work for Yamma.
Princess Snake and her Snake women all survive
Kaio-sama Bubbles & Gregory died to Cell
Saibamen - Killed by Krillin, Picollo, Vegeta and 1 commited suicide.
Zarbon & Dodoria - killed by Vegeta
Ginyu Force - killed by Vegeta
Capt Ginyu - Frog Ginyu was on earth for years until he must have died from Boo destroying Earth. He comes back in Super and is killed by Vegeta
Garlic Jnr men - killed by Gohan
Garlic Jnr was trapped in the dead zone twice but is still alive in the dead zone.
More Friezas army - killed by Trunks
Future Trunks - this one is a bit complicated, in the the timeline which Cell came from he killed a Trunks... however this isn't the timeline belonging to the Trunks we see fight Frieza.
Mecha Frieza and Friezas father - killed by Trunks
Androids - 16 17 died to cell, 19 to Vegeta and 20/ Gero killed by 17. 18 Survived cell but was later killed by Boo.
Future Bulma - Survives
Everyone in otherworld - already dead except...
Dai Kaio Sama and the other 3 Kaios
Kaioshin-sama survives
Kibito - killed by Dabura
that dude Vegeta killed (can't think of his name)
Dabura - killed by Boo
Yakon - killed by Goku
Babidis men - either killed by Gohan/Kaioshin or died when the Earth went or killed by Boo before that
Babidi - killed by Boo
Bibidi - killed by Kaioshin
Good Boo - technically he doesn't die except in GT... I wasn't really considering GT when I started this :D
Evil Boo - killed by Goku
Pan - Survives!
Oob - Survives!
Recommend the continued use of the custom English subs....as the episodes go by, it gets better
The dbza movies are a must
To answer the question about why they don't just kill everybody, they essentially want to inspect the planet to see if it will be valuable for them to conquer first.
4:50 pfft. Nappa living after the Saiyan arc? What a wild idea right?
The reason Vegeta and Nappa went to Arlia is because there was a contract out to capture the planet, which was SUPPOSED to be a garden world fit for settlement, meaning it was worth a LOT of money. The Arlians apparently caused an apocalypse in the meantime, making it utterly worthless, so since they wasted the Saiyans' time, Vegeta and Nappa decided to have some fun with them before they killed everybody.
Popo and Nappa are my favorites in this lmaoooo
Nappa and Krillin are Hilarious.
Fun fact: vegeta's early colors is so popular that its become vegetas official alt colors in video games
Man just for frieza saga its hilarious and very good you are gonna love it
Vegeta looked like that because Toei didn't know the colors for Vegeta, the manga was black and white so they just had to guess. Toriyama had to call them and tell them the actual colors after these episodes aired.
We get to know about bojack later in the series. There is a movie after the cell saga where he is the antagonist. If you are interested I recommend watching gohan vs bojack. It's a epic fight.
A wise man once said "I am hilarious and you will quote everything I say"
Ok fun fact. Oolong (the pig) actually wished the dragon for the Saiyans to bring killed but it wasn't in Shenron's power
Mr Popo sama please spear my soul, i’ve subbed, liked the video and i left a comment🙏
Dude, this subscription call in the beginning got me. Aaaaand subscribe (DBZ Abridged Kai 1)
The series goes from an abridged series, to an actual great series with good moments
subscribed for the pecking order, also because I like your videos lol.
How can anyone say the first 10 Episodes are cringe?! Nappa is fucking hilarious.
